Samsung INR18650 25R: One of the batts I got at the end of last November holds a full charge and appears to charge normally on my Nitecore I4 (couple of hours, 3 bars...), but doesn't seem to work in any of my mods (I only use mechs) with any of my RBAs. No shorts, no heat, no leaks, no arcs, wrapping is intact, but I did have to use a magnet spacer on it. Ordering some nipple batts now for those two mods (and/or make a different kind of extender - I don't know if even those are tall enough for these two stupid mods - I need 4mm more than the Sammy), but did that kill it?

Here's the magnet I used: https://www.fasttech.com/products/1530002, stacked with one of these: https://www.fasttech.com/products/1140101
Maybe cuz they're "super strong?" It was still in its proper place when I removed the battery.

My builds are around 0.8Ω.

The magnets did not hurt the battery cindycated, unless you shorted it without knowing it.

Give us more details about the problem. What voltage is that battery when it's just been charged? When you say 'holds a full charge' does that mean the battery holds that voltage for days after a charge?

Does 'doesn't seem to work in any of my mods' mean you're getting no heat at all?

Magnets for spacers are a really bad idea. The coatings on the cheaper ones aren't meant to be a high efficiency electrical conductor - the primary purpose of the coating is to prevent oxidation of the neo magnet - which will deteriorate and crumble if exposed to air. In mods magnets as spacers can be a point source for voltage drop and high heat. Occasionally the coating has been reported to lose it's electrical conductivity properties altogether - which may be what happened here.

From that, I understand how the magnet can get damaged, but how does the magnet damage the battery? Tested it on mods that don't require the battery as well, no love on those either. The magnet appears to be intact (still fully coated).

Would love to find IMR batteries that are 4mm longer - unfortunately, even the nippletops only add 1mm. I think have a hybrid adapter I can cannibalize for a spacer though. This one: https://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10009156/1666400-connection-parts-for-kayfun-v3-1-rda-nemesis-mod
