Last night, i soaked ALL of my attys in water and mostly vodka like i thought i was supposed to do. Then i let dry, blew them out. and used them today. They now taste AWFUL...with a musty burnt taste. I cant even taste my liquid flavors in them.

This is the first time i have done this because normally i just blow them out, but i wanted to get ALL of the flavors out of them!

Now i regret soaking all of my 20 attys...did i ruin them?!

How do i get that taste out?? How do i make them work like they did before?!

PLEASE HELP!

Try running hot water through them, or even use a turkey baster if you have one and flush them out, then blow them again and let them dry. I'm willing to bet that you still have the residuals of the vodka in them. Are you using a high alcohol proof?

You can also look up the dry burn method and try that if you need one now. Just be careful that you don't run it too long at a time and burn out the element.

I tried 3 different attys this morning, and put a few drops of liquid on them. Then i tried it, gross. then i used it till i felt like the juice was gone, then did it again, still gross. Ill put one on the battery and hold it down for a bit. then ill do it again. ill see if that works.

I took one into the bathroom a while ago and rinsed it under hot water, and blew it out. Still tasted just as bad after i did that.
:(

Okay, i held it down for 10 seconds about 6 times, and would let off when it turned a little orange inside. Then after i dripped onto the attys, put my drip tip back on, and tried it. Its not like it was before, but it tastes a little better. So ill try that with all of my attys and hope for the best!!! I just hope they perform like before. Thank you all!!!

You should be OK. I clean mine with 91% iso alcohol when they don't produce vapor as they should. 5 min soak, then let dry over night. Quick dry burn until the element is orange once or twice. Prime and good to go.

You'll get a funky taste if they aren't try all the way, which is why high % alcohol is good - it dries quicker than water.
