I am only a few days in. First PV came on Wednesday. I've had about 8 cigarettes since then and none since the half one I had yesterday morning. I was a pack+ a day smoker and had a horrible hacking cough. I already notice a huge difference. I can take a DEEP breath w/o wheezing and not have rattling in my chest. I think this is the first time I've gone more than 24hours w/o a cigarette since before I was old enough to drive.

The Government is just greedy and wants all your money. If you live right up to the age of retirement and die before you collect any Social Security you have made Uncle Sam happy. He just loves it when you pay into a social program and don't receive any benefits. tobacco plays right into this devious plan, they can tax the tobacco to death and it puts you to death before you can collect any of YOUR MONEY!

A valid point there. Scary isn't it? The powers at be seem to be parasites.

My last breathing test showed me at 50% lung capacity. In January I'll take another and at that time I'll know what's up with me. Until then I'm not believing much of what anybody says about ecigs. Leastwise the FDA.

However, I have noticed some improvement in my breathing. Trouble is it could just be my imagination. You see I do deep breathing excersizes once in a while in order to relax. Typically it was inhale for eight seconds in, hold for four seconds, then exhale for eight seconds. Since the ecigs, I am now easily able to inhale for FIFTEEN seconds, hold for eight seconds, then exhale for FIFTEEN seconds. Sounds promising--could be my imagination :)

I don't think it's your imagination, Dave. We all seem to be experiencing improved pulmonary function.

P.S. My wife has some serious asthma and ecigs didn't help her one bit. THAT was a REAL disappointment.

Interestingly enough, I read the fine print at the bottom of the Johnson Creek site and it said vaping was NOT recommended for people with asthma.

So now I am wondering how many of the claims out there really are true. And, though I know I will get flamed saying this, I'm thankful the FDA is checking all of them out. I just pray they will be reasonable :)

I am asthmatic and it helped me but my asthma is mild. Someone with serious asthma definitely should not be smoking. electronically or otherwise. No one here is saying it's a cure all or that it will help everyone. But if it even helps a few hundred thousand people isn't that worth leaving on the market? I would not place too much faith in the FDA being reasonable or doing the right thing. All evidence points toward serious corruption within that agency. Do some digging and see what you find. It is down right scary.

 Welcome Mickeylynn...That is exactly how it went for me, now at 10 Weeks analog free. When the rare craving moments do come the e-cig makes possible what other options did not; a few vapes of something like Raspberry Frappucchino and I FORGET missing the Arsenic Formaldehyde kick in the face/chest. Evidently our lungs are loyal and try to forgive us;Nice being on the same side with them again;)

I have COPD so it might have taken a little longer for me but for the first month I was hacking up so much crud that it was scary sometimes. I'd wake up feeling as though I was drowning in it. But, this was after 42 years of heavy analog usage.

Now, after a few months, my smoker's hack is completely gone, as well as the torrent of junk my lungs were clearing out. I used to use a inhaler 4 - 5 time a day, now I use it once every few days. COPD can't be cured but it can be slowed to a crawl.

My doctor said my airways sounded clear for the first time and didn't have any problem with the PV.
sorrry for the info overkill but I thought it was pertinent to the question. :D

Now THAT is really good news. Thanks a lot and I for one would like to hear all about your experience :)

when i real smoked i had got to the point i could not take a deep draw without it making me cough.. i had a nasty embarrassing persistent cough..

it literally went away overnight... and real cigs dont taste nasty to me.. and i can now actually enjoy one and take as deep a draw as i like without bursting into a fit of coughing..

paradoxically e smoking has made me able to enjoy a real cig for the first time in years.. i work with people that real smoke and who e smoke... i dont hate the real cigs or the people that still use them.. i can take or leave the real ones.. and my cough has gone.. i do still have and enjoy the odd real cig..

people with real chest problems know the benefits of e smoking way more than those who havnt reached the problem stage yet..

I'm curious the brand of analogs that you smoke. I had smoked lights and when I go back to them, I'm not getting much satisfaction. Makes me wonder if the analog nicotine buzz was just my imagination.

A few days after I quit analogs I started having serious nightmares about ex girlfriends. Not sure if its related but they have stopped. The on thing I've noticed for sure is that I LOVE food. Everything tastes much better and I am even enjoying foods that I previously didn't like.I have gained a few pounds, but thats ok because I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and doggone it, people like me...

many years ago i might have got a "buzz" but not for a long long time.. i smoked strong rolling tobacco.. i dont get anything much from a real one and pick up my e smoker as soon as the real one is finished... i dont buy real ones but there is always some on hand for me to have a go at..

in the screwdriver factory unit there are half and half e smokers.. they e smoke cos they make the things but also have no real desire to quit the real ones.. they like both and use both when it suits them or when they cant use the real thing like when down the pub.. one e smokes at home and does both when at work..

and laying there amongst all the e smoking bits is a tin of rolling tobacco and a packet of marlboro belonging to the machinists if they offer me one i take it.. he he he..

quite amusing really..

That is so cool that you have an ecig factory that's not in china! I looked real hard at your screwdriver but didn't get it because of asthetic reasons. I have made 51's 2 piece work but then again I have like 400 bucks worth of equipment he he. Everything I have read about your screwdriver makes it look awesome but the cops in VA are terrible and would surely beat me down and smash my screwdriver as a drug pipe if I got pulled. I hate messing with liquid too. Any future plans of releasing a more realistic looking version with prefilled carts?

The breathing is better, but the acute smell thing is almost a curse! I've always had a nose like a bloodhound, even when smoking (maybe because I never exhaled through my nose) but now it's ridiculous!

We live on just over an acre, and the other night we had the windows open and I could smell cigarette smoke coming from the neighbors! The next day I went to Walmart and could smell a smoker AFTER they had already left the aisle! What is amazing is how the smell makes me want to gag now.

This reminds me of when I used to work in a restaurant and wouldn't eat their cheeseburgers unless they were extremely hot right off the grill. I imagine anything can get a little sickening when you are around it all the time.
