I'm also one of many here who have been having Quality problems with Kanger coils. I've been getting them from a local B&M and most of them are duds, and its not a pin problem on my PVs. THey're labeled KangerTechs, though I suppose they could have been clones.
If you peruse the forums for them, its an increasing theme.
A year ago I the PT and EVOD heads were fine and I have a mess of them to rebuild, but when I got some T3 types this year, a functional head was hard to find.
Perhaps some vendors have older stock, and therefore decent heads.

The box these came in looked exactly like the Kangor box and blister pack. Though, obviously I know they are not. https://www.fasttech.com/p/1640705

I just found this after reading about it in another thread:

This is located on the first page of szkanger.com

Oh and FWIW I have been using my Protank 2's for exactly a month, and I haven't had a single issue (I have 4 PT2's, and every coil I've tried has worked perfectly).

Honestly I think it's all about where you get the coils from. A good 50% of the evod coils I've ever gotten from cheap online stores were terrible. I don't think I've ever had a dud, but they just weren't put together well. I had issues with wick pinching, burt taste; they were very fiddly, but cheap. The coils I've bought from my brick and mortar store were always good as gold. Not a single problem. But more expensive. When you buy cheap, you may not be getting genuine.

In my opinion when you buy discount, you pay the price. Also I don't buy a new head every time my old one gets gunked up, especially if I've got a bunch of good ones. I vodka soak, rinse, dry burn, and rewick. Very easy, and very economical. I basically use them until the wire pops.
