Well, time to update this thread!

So at the End of February I found out I had type 2 diabetes.. Well, I went to war! I am winning the battles one pound or 3 at a time, but I will NOT have diabetes :)
Funny every time I spoke with someone from the Drs office they keep asking questions to see if I am depressed. Im ...... is what I am LOL!
Since that fateful day I have dropped 42 pounds and Im not stopping there! My bloodsugar went from 272 to a nice 94 today :)

So that puts me, since this thread started at 75ish pds down and 40 some to go! Yes, Shane cooks way to good! hehe

I am so proud of you Kim! That is quite the weight loss..do not shed any near me!
I hope you get to your goal and beat diabetes!!!!
I am still battling my type II..I have been really slack about it since we moved..too much going on and I just haven't looked for a Dr. But when I do see one next week I hope, I will ask about drugs that don't make me gain! I was within 13 pounds of my goal when my Dr. changed my drugs again! I put on 25 lbs!

I dont trust doctors MK! Just dont.. so I went on a low carb diet, my daughter used it to lose 80 pds and all of her numbers are now normal :)
Its similar to Atkins, called The Ideal Protien Diet. Pretty much drop the starches.. I eat lean meat and certain veggies. Seems the trick is to keep your protien levels up, so you dont lose lean muscle, so no Yo Yoing :)

I blamed my diabetes on the adkins diet garbage! I have since learned that you body needs all kinds of food..in moderation. My daughter uses different diets, they all work until the day you stop doing them. Anyway food is not my problem and I do exercize every day..don't need my feet removed! It's genes and age now. I was in the hospital for 5 days with high bllod pressure problems..on a hospital diabetic diet (non flavored cardboard and mush in my opinion) and My numbers went up and never dropped. They accused me of sneaking sweets in! I don't even like sweets very much.

Hey this is cool! I just saw this, the battle of the bulge is no fun. I have been fighting keeping off 100 lbs now for 5 years. My latest solution? Follow what I learned in weight watchers, but enjoy what I eat. No more cardboard food, I try to keep fat content down, and when I have a heavy day I watch what I eat for the rest of the day, or next few days and it is going alright. Also getting off my school food plan helped a ton, I eat healthy when there is not temptation of crap at every corner.
I eat butter, cheese, and sugary stuff. And I can say that Friday I put on my scrubs and they fit better than they have for months. My scale is at school so Tues when I go back to school I'll see what I have done.
My only advice, is eat in moderation, just don't eat like a barn animal everyday, get out and move & when you feel like shoving something in your face vape. I have at least lost 15 of the freshman 20 since I started vaping.
My replacement for sweets lately has been my juices, my latest is BTS ( Better Than Sex)- chocolate, pineapple & almond.

I have been eating what I want but in moderation, I would not last on a salad every day diet. I would cave and pig out....LOL I have discovered that when I am at home and I feel the urge to eat something when I am not hungry I go step on the scales......stops me every time :)

Steve has a bad sugar problem .....and he keeps bringing candy home....and I eat it.....

MY DH has high blood sugar and complained to me once when I served pasta and corn in the same meal. Yet he is the one making homade bread all the time and eating half of it at one time!!!! Men...
