Hi

Pg enhances throat hit and flavor; vg produces more vapor (and although most people say it mutes flavor a bit, it supposedly has a slight sweet taste on it's own). Vg is more viscous and doesn't wick well in some devices if the ratio is too high. People sometimes have pg sensitive, while others (generally less often) have sensitive to vg; still others, like myself, react to flavorings. Like everything else in vaping, it's all about experimenting. Sorry this didn't help you very much. :)

The answer to that might be better answered in the liquids sub-forum, you have enough posts to start a thread there. Since you aren't dealing with nicotine, mixing them would be to taste rather than anything else. I don't mix my own, per se, but I like unflavored and sometimes a bit of flavor for variety - the kind with nicotine though.
