So... I let my kanger T3 cotton recoil sit in juice for 24 hours, than tested it out today. Blam! One of the best vapes I've ever had. Amazing taste and vapor production.... but, after about 15mins it started to flood. I think I might have to lay another piece of cotton on top of the coil (which is how the T3 comes made) to keep it from flooding. The cotton swelled up really nice so I figured it wouldn't food, but I guess I was wrong.

I'm gonna throw a second piece of cotton on tonight and let it soak over night. If that doesn't work in gonna recoil it again. The coil I made came out to 3.0ohms, which is a little higher than I wanted, but with a twist it was working great at around 4.3 volts.

I was super excited for about 15 mins there, never seen a clearo work so good before... guess it was to good to be true. But I'm not giving up!

My best results with my reduxes is with two small wicks, one through the coil and one over. Another nice thing about cotton is that it's cheap enough to experiment with lol.

Nice, I threw a 2nd cotton wick on top of the one threw the coil, actually forgot about it... gotta get home after work today and see if it still floods. I hope that fixed it, I got a lot of T3's just sitting in a drawer.

Yeah cheese cloth has to have the coil wrapped right with the wraps close together and has to soak in juice for at least 1-2 hours before using so it has time to absorb/expand to wick properly otherwise it will burn. Gauze/batting is more forgiving to how you use it and is much quicker being absorbent/expansion.

When building a cheesecloth wick, do you roll up a piece of the woven cloth itself, or take the time to take it appart strand by strand and build one that way? When I cut a piece of cloth it frays and comes appart. Any tips?

how many threads should my cheesecloth have if i wanna use it in a terminator ceramic, i saw qiugsworths vid and he suggests 35-40 threads for the v2 ceramic, so what about v1 ceramic

I have good luck with cheese cloth by winding my coil on something and then sliding the cheesecloth in. I like to have the wick big enough to have light contact with the coil but small enough to slide in fairly easy. It will expand some and fit snug enough.

I'd just measure of a strip, say 3/4 in. and see how it fits your coil, then go from there. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I just cut strips and roll them up. I square up the cheesecloth a little and cut between two threads, but not too concerned if I cut across a thread or two. Cheesecloth doesn't make the prettiest wicks but darn they sure do wick good. :vapor:

Hopefully you'll get them going and get some good use out of them. If not though, take a hard look at the dream 804 (kayfun clone). If you like T3's you'll love the 804. They have some quirks, such as plugging off the mouth piece end and turning upside down to fill, but they're worth it imo.

Been running real low on juice so haven't had much experimenting. I do have a wizard labs order coming so I'll have enough uice for another few months. Ordered a few vials of double ry4 so I can make a bunch and et it steep. Also ordered some new tobacco flavors I have not tried M-type favor excited about, some light tobacco, and 555 dk. It's nice to know now what flavors/recipes are my favorite All day vapes are so I can mix big batches to steep and save money.

I have been useing cotton rounds about 2 weeks and they have been working great, vapor, TH, flavor is not bad
the one thing is the cotton gets real ,real dark after 2 days, doesn't taste burnt just dark,is that right?
got 2 aga+t2, 1 at 1.6 ohm, at 3.6,3.8v, other 2.0 ohm at 4.0,4.2v
what I do now is make real long wicks and when it gets reak dark I pull the wick up and cut off the dark part
I guess I want to know is how lond a cotton wicks last..lol

It all depends on how dark your juice is. My really dark brown juices go through a wick in about 2 days, but my clear juices can go for at least a week.

And you have the equivalent of a brand new atty. Aint it great? :vapor:

Congrats on getting the aga going with cotton. I've only tried the dud, but I never could get it going well with cotton. To be honest tho, I didn't try very hard.

Thanks, thats good to know. I try not to use dark juice, kills a carto in a day, but thers a lot of dark juice I like
just thought I was putting to much volts to the cotton..

I'm pretty sure this is a cotton wick. It doesn't say but it looks like it is. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-magic-rda-only-10-dollars-2.html#post8986469

Edit to add: At the moment I'm vaping a smok redux with a 1.4 ohm coil on my bolt. Assuming my battery is around 3.9 volts, that would give me around 10 watts.

For my reduxes, I've had pretty good luck with the center tube from a ce2 but I finally settled on a 1/16th drill bit. It's only slightly bigger than the slots and the wick doesn't get choked at the slots. A small wick through the coil and another over top has been working great.

I think most new to rebuilding make their coils too big. I know I did when I first started my first coil was over 5ohms lol. I also noticed how coil size can change the way it performs greatly. I think I'm going to start collecting/making more different sized rods for different size coils. So far I have the coat hanger and some surgical pins Donnah sent me (thank you). Mounting the coil first with a metal rod really is just a great way to make perfect coils along with nr legs. The cotton rounds have been the easiest to use with the mount coil first method for me.

Many people are using drill bits for that purpose, sometimes even paired for making oval coils.

I get better performance wrapping the coils close together side by side. For some reason I noticed the larger the spaces between wraps the more likely to burn the cotton, especially with weaved cottons. I still have yet to experiment more with oval coils though.
