Kanthal A1 has an even harder to accurately read TCR, which is why it is never used for TC builds. SS and Kanthal wire have TCRs that are fairly close compared to other wire materials used for TC. Nickel is very good, as its resistance changes a lot, and quickly, as it heats up, which makes it easy to read and adjust power for by you average TC chipset. For a variety of reasons, mainly because it is very hard to work with, nickel wire is not optimal for building TC coils, though plenty of people still apparently use it for that.

I understand your comment on SS wire better now, Thanks for that billy. I TC Kanthal and NiCr on my HΩ Tech Slice and G2 and like it very much, I also chain vape some, and have no problems with it, on those 2 mods Kanthal and NiCr are pretty consistent, and I can run my tanks dry and it acts just like all the other TC mods with the diminishing vapor with the drier my wick gets. I run either 30g Twisted Kanthal or 28g NiCr in my Sirens and it works pretty Fantastic for me. I've not experienced any of what you explained you do with SS wire, and I'm glad I don't. I have never TC'd any other wire except for Kanthal and NiCr, so my first introduction to TC was with the HΩ Tech devices and I get a very smooth and consistent MTL vape. I had so much Kanthal and NiCr that it didn't make sense to me to buy other wire just to TC. Now I either run my HΩ Tech's in TC mode, or my Presa's in Power mode using the same tanks and builds (kinda like running SS wire in either Power or TC mode). I have said it before, and I'll say it again, Smoking was never this much fun.

I don't have any direct experience with the Tech Slice or G2. They sound like pretty interesting devices, being able to run Kanthal wire in TC mode. Some have claimed that the way devices like that go about running Kanthal in TC mode is a bit of a cheat. I don't know about that. If it works, regardless of how it is done, I think that is all that matters.

Do you vape tobacco flavored juices like I do? I'm sure there are a lot cleaner vaping juices out there than tobacco, but that is what I mostly like to vape. Tobacco juices naturally tend to gunk up coils more than other juices. At least that has been my experience, but it really depends on the e-liquid.

I am hopeful that titanium wire may gunk up somewhat less, but I have no direct experience on the matter yet, only what some other forum members have said regarding titanium running with less build up over time. So I'm going to give it a shot. It should run more smoothly in general, so that is just a bonus - unless it turns out to be difficult to work with.

A lot of the conversation appears to have moved over to the Siren V2 thread. It can't be helped. I'm glad there is a lot of interest over there. I hope that tank turns out to be a great, improved replacement of our venerable V1, but I am more than a little skeptical.

I'll keep this over here, since it is about the V1 and not the V2.

The other day I was re-filling my V1 22mm Siren and got part way thru and ran out of juice in my "Gorilla" juice bottle. I put my Siren back on to my mod (so as to be sitting up right, but didn't put the top cap back on) then went down stairs to fill my "Gorilla" squeeze bottle, came back up to a mess (it must have only been ½ a ml) all over the base of my Siren and running down the one side of my HΩ Tech G2. I had the air flow closed, but with the top cap off I guess it didn't matter much. I haven't had an "oops" ( ) like that with my Siren's in a long time.
Lesson Learned !!

Hello there
I know this is an old post
But for the siren o ring fix, I just get to the step where I should remove the 510 insulator, and I dont know how! I almost ruined it trying to force it out
Can anyone please tell me how to do it?
Even better can anyone upload a video of this fix in baby steps?
Thank you...

No worries, Wesam! Welcome, and I hope somebody DOES DO a video step by step. I'm more of a visual learner myself!
