Kanthal A1 has an even harder to accurately read TCR, which is why it is never used for TC builds. SS and Kanthal wire have TCRs that are fairly close compared to other wire materials used for TC. Nickel is very good, as its resistance changes a lot, and quickly, as it heats up, which makes it easy to read and adjust power for by you average TC chipset. For a variety of reasons, mainly because it is very hard to work with, nickel wire is not optimal for building TC coils, though plenty of people still apparently use it for that.
I understand your comment on SS wire better now, Thanks for that billy. I TC Kanthal and NiCr on my HΩ Tech Slice and G2 and like it very much, I also chain vape some, and have no problems with it, on those 2 mods Kanthal and NiCr are pretty consistent, and I can run my tanks dry and it acts just like all the other TC mods with the diminishing vapor with the drier my wick gets. I run either 30g Twisted Kanthal or 28g NiCr in my Sirens and it works pretty Fantastic for me. I've not experienced any of what you explained you do with SS wire, and I'm glad I don't. I have never TC'd any other wire except for Kanthal and NiCr, so my first introduction to TC was with the HΩ Tech devices and I get a very smooth and consistent MTL vape. I had so much Kanthal and NiCr that it didn't make sense to me to buy other wire just to TC. Now I either run my HΩ Tech's in TC mode, or my Presa's in Power mode using the same tanks and builds (kinda like running SS wire in either Power or TC mode). I have said it before, and I'll say it again, Smoking was never this much fun.
