Disapointed & A New Purchase

Two months ago, I made a purchase from a local supplier. I bought a kit which I considered to be an upgrade from what I had been using(Mini started kit - Using cartomizers and a battery). It was sleek and red (atomizer and atomized cartridge ~ whatever that is). I was satisfied.

Step ahead two months later. Both of the batts are now dead. Thank goodness I had bought an additional batt and atomizer (I thought I had lost a whole setup). But I knew that this batt would follow the other two in about a month and I'd have to buy another and another and another until the new batts arrived (I was told a month after I bought the kit that they've had people say that the batts have to be recharged alot (true) and don't last long so they ordered stronger ones that would arrive soon).

No word yet on the new batts so I decided to go with an online supplier that I've seen on Facebook ~ The Vapor Girl. This morning I purchased one of her Mix & Match kits(Ming Dynasty 900 & Dragon 900), the crocodile case, three bottles of VJ (Moo juice, Nutmeg & Spearmint)and 3 dispenser bottles. The prices are unbelievable(Even shipping costs were excellent) and I'll let you know when they arrive how they work. I'm sure that I'll have questions because they look so different than what I'm used to.:firefox:

I was just so unhappy with the other. If you take really good care of your setup, shouldn't they last a while? How often should you have to replace the batts? I felt that I shouldn't have to replace a battery more than once a year, not every two months. Even the cartomizer kit that I got on my birthday (In April) is still going strong.

Batteries burn out and it is dependent upon a) what type of battery it is b) how many times you've charged it c) how often you vape and I am sure other things that I am not even listing here. When I had my Titan set up it was a very weak battery and I would have no less then 5 in rotation at a time. They would last about 2-3 months then start getting weaker and not holding a charge for too long.

I just "upgraded" to an Ego-T 650 and am much happier. I have 2 batteries that last about 12 hours on a charge (yes this is longer then advertised but they are still brand new). While these kits are great alternatives to "analogs" they can get pricey during the set up phase but once you've dialed in what you like then it's smooth sailing. The EGO-T is the 3rd set up I have had in 2 years and I am sure that is far less then some people on this forum :)

Hope your new purchases make you happy!

Thank you for replying Karen :) I was charging these batts every two to four hours depending how much I used it. On stressful days, I used them more. I should have done some research before purchasing. Lesson learned.

On the new one, I almost bought the "Disco" battery. It reminds me more of a Tiffany lamp then a disco ball though lol. Still may get it. I love the porcelain dragon setup that she has as well. I cannot wait until the stuff gets here.

I know Victoria (owner of The Vapor Girl) and I know that she tries hard to provide a good product at a good price. She also likes to bring in new unique hardware . She is particularly proud of her juices, which are all USA made and use USA (NC) nicotine. I've heard glowing things about her "Sweet Potato" flavor. Doesn't sound like a likely thing, but it's gotten some RAVE reviews. She has lots of flavors...all custom mixed for the customer. Anyway....there will always be issues with hardware from time to time. That is something that is a part of life for the vaper. But I feel sure that Victoria will try to do her best to help you out if you have any problems.

Enjoy and Happy Vaping!

Unfortunately mini ecigs are more suited for the light vaper. Batteries are "usually" good for about 300 recharges. As KarenB stated sometimes getting a slightly larger PV is the way to go. As for The Vapor Girl I've never ordered from her but I read glowing reviews all the time about her and the products she sells.
The Very Best of Luck.

CM -

I realize you just bought a whole new kit, but it is still constant voltage, whereas the benefits of variable voltage are IMO irrefutable. Just half a year ago, variable voltage could only be found in bigger "mods" like a ProVari, Buzz Pro, VMax, Lavatube, and the like. Now, Joyetech has come out with the eGo-C Twist, a variable voltage eGo-class battery that is about an inch longer per battery capacity than the corresponding constant voltage Joyetech eGo battery, and at around $17-23 for a 650mah twist, now puts variable voltage within the reach of just about anyone. A lot of people, myself included, who once used a variety of "fancier" VV stuff are now using the Twist quite a bit, and, in my case, virtually exclusively. Coupled with a Vivi Nova 3.5ml version 2.5 tank/atty, you get quite a vape, for bare-bones $$. There is now also a 2.0ml Vivi Nova "Mini" that is close to the diameter of the twist, making for a more streamlined look.

This is a post I made a week or so ago that might be worth reading:

*****

But "it" is simple [the "it" refers to the OP's comment that they thought "it" would be fairly simple to figure out what to buy], as long as by "it" you don't mean determining and purchasing the exact equipment that you will ever need or want, or will suit your fancy for every particular use, need, or desire you will ever have. There's a great song by Tom Waits called "Step Right Up"; a slam on every huckster, pitchman, and snake oil salesman who ever lived, where the thing being sold is described as "the last product you will ever need". There is no such product, and there is no such set of vaping equipment.

That said; as Wonderland (above) said, an absolute slam-dunk no-brainer is IMO (and that of MANY others) is three Joyetech eGo-C 650mah (milli-amp hour; a modest-sized battery capacity) Twists, two chargers in case one craps out (backup, backup, backup), at least three Vivi Nova 3.5ml version 2.5 (accept no substitutes) tank/atomizers, and about a month's supply of juice; any juice. If you're feeling frisky, get a lanyard and a trim ring. The vendor will know what you mean.

From earlier today, in another thread:

"As I said earlier in this thread: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...m-feed-juice-box-mods-available-links-60.html

"I'm getting quite a list going now [of "cool" stuff to buy]; JBox, stainless steel Reo Grand VV, Provari V2, GG Odysseus tank, Bulli A2-TM atomizer, Darwin, Buzz Pro 2 (non-compliant), ten more Vivi Novas, and about fifty juices that everyone loves and I've never tried. [And now, Zen stuff, Orion stuff (especially when/if it comes in VV/VW), I Hybrid stuff (ditto) ....]

Do I need any of this stuff? Not really. While my VMax, Woo, Joyetech 18650 mod, kGos, and (constant voltage) eGos sit unused, I'm getting a stellar vape from my Twists and Vivi Nova tanks. I went a full month on the first Vivi atomizer without touching it. Popped in a new one, and YEAH BABY!

This is exactly why I get in trouble around here for suggesting to beginners that while they sort through ALLLLLL of the options, just get yourself three 650mah Twists, three Vivi Novas, two chargers (in case one craps out), a trim ring (looks count), a lanyard maybe, some juice, and then vape your face off as you explore all the other equipment in the entire vaposphere".

*****

I encourage you to read that thread from Post #561 on; it's not very long from that post to the end. (Of course, play very close attention to my posts - LMAO!!)

Along the way, don't worry if you don't know right now what is a box mod, an evolv "Kick", an 18650, a bottom feeder, a Reo VV, an Orion V2, a Zenisis, a ProVari V2, and I-Hybrid, "splonking", or any other damn thing.

As I say toward the end of that thread, in Post #594:

"The basic idea here is to cost-effectively and according to the laws of physics deliver juice to a coil (or ... ugh ... coils), and warm the coil(s) to a temperature that gives the vaper a vape that he or she likes. It's not rocket surgery".

The Joyetech eGo-C Twist and Vivi Nova tank/atomizer do that very, very well and are very, very easy to use.

I'll leave you with these; PLEASE watch them and take them to heart, especially the Grimm Green review of the eGo-C Twist.

*****

Just came across this again, as I was searching for the url's for the video reviews; might as well just post it. It's something I posted a month or more ago, before I got a little frustrated with people who kept recommending fixed-voltage devices over variable voltage for no reason that I found satisfactory:

*****

"That said, I would like you to order the following items:

Three Joyetch eGo-C 650mah Twists. They come mainly in chrome, black, chrome, and blue.
A spare charger in case the one you already have craps out.
At least two Vivi Nova 3.5ml Version 2.5 tank/atomizers.
A lot of juice.

You will have a very, very good vape while you figure out the ins and outs of all the gear out there, including the very cool, but slightly quirky Joyetech tank systems that I will always have a very warm place in my heart for, and which I use from time to time.

The Twists are about $22 each, the Vivi Novas are about $14 each, and the charger (2 pcs.) is about $13

I seriously doubt that you will regret having this equipment in your "arsenal".

Finally, a video review that I take a lot of heat for posting, but I do not care in the slightest. It says it all.

A variable voltage device lets you be "Goldilocks" and have you porridge whatever temperature you want. In the case of vaping, "porridge temperature" is the amount of heat (watts) at the coil that vaporizes the juice. With the Twist, or any other variable voltage (or variable wattage, but forget that for now) device, you can adjust the temperature at the coil (or coils, but forget that for now too) so you can have an optimum vape regardless of juice flavor, PG/VG ratio ((the two main "base" liquids used in e-liquid to which nicotine (if desired) and flavorings are added)), resistance of the coil or coils (forget about that too), or your mood.

Watts are achieved by applying volts to an atomizer coil or coils of different resistances. Ohm's law states that Watts = Volts times Volts divided by Resistance (in ohms). (Forget that too if you feel like it). Varying the voltage to the coil or coils is what variable voltage is all about. By turning a simple knob on the bottom of the Twist, you can adjust the output voltage from 3.2 to 4.8, allowing you to achieve almost any reasonable amount of desired watts on any of the three atomizer coils that come with the ($14) Vivi Nova tank. (There's also a Vivi Nova Mini tank that comes with just one atomizer coil (forget about that too for now).

I strongly urge you to just get this setup so you can have a great vape going as you explore any or all of the dizzying array of equipment currently on the market.

*****

DISCLAIMER: I am not saying that the Joyetech eGo-C Twist with Vivi Nova tank/atomizer is the best vaping system on the planet. What I AM saying is that after doing a hell of a lot of research, it's the setup that makes the most sense for me to recommend to anyone just starting out. I think it makes more sense than ANY constant voltage battery/PV/APV on the market - including the Volt - unless the beginner is absolutely, positively sold on the notion that they MUST have a look-alike, in which case i say go ahead and get the (excellent) Volt, as long as you're clear on what you're sacrificing in doing so.

And it just happens to be what I'm vaping on right now, while, as I say, all of my "fancy" stuff sits unused.

Thank you. Just so people know the story as some thought the lil' guy was dead. He got drunk eating fermented pumpkin and passed out. The person took care of him and protected him until he could sober up and make it home to the Missus. He just thought he'd have a little fun before he woke up and took that picture.

Thank you Vapoor eyes er. Love your profile picture BTW :toast:

Hi John, hope you're keeping well and staying out of trouble :D Ya finally brainwashed me into yer cult and I bought a couple of Twists last weekend :D

Hiya bro :) Yeah, stayin' outta trouble ... hell, I've gone about two weeks without getting banned ... a new personal best! (woohoooo!) LOL

And OMG, you got a couple of Twists?! Cool! Hey, when it comes to brainwashing, I taught the North Koreans everything they know! LMAO!! (And when it comes to the Twist - "Resistance is futile" - [tm "The Borg", 1988]).

(And I sure do hope that l'il fella makes it home alright, and moderates his consumption of fermented pumpkin in the future. Live and learn, right?) :)

And CM, we'll let you have your thread back real soon, we promise! :)

Also ordered some Koolaid juice :D

Aww, that's a good boy .... yes, you just vape your Koolaid juice, lace up your brand-new sneakers, and soon the shuttle craft will take us to meet the mother ship so we can all rendezvous at Comet Hale-Bopp and have a GOOD OLD TIME on Planet Twilo. LOL!

Now I'm off to get some fermented pumpkin, and maybe some fermented apples as well, because that moose looks to be havin' a particularly good time himself. :)

And again, apologies to CM, whose party this is, after all.

By way of making it up to you - to recap, this is what I would recommend to ANYONE who doesn't have variable voltage in his or her arsenal - or even those who already do:

Two or three Joyetech eGo-C Twists
Two chargers in case one craps out (or just one if you already have one for another eGo-class battery)
Two or three Vivi Novas (either the 3.5ml or the 2.0ml 'Mini")
Lots o' juice - any juice

Optional: lanyard and trim ring. I have my setup around my neck right now. (I know - stand on a chair then and jump off; very funny) :)

Sorry but I think we forgot about the OP. I second the eGo twist. I've got two of them with the vivi nova and couldn't be happier. I got the 1000mah batteries and can go all day without charging.

Sorry.
I agree about the Twist but I carry at least a couple of the 650mAh ones. They are a bit more compact and it give an excuse to carry more then one flavour.
The best part of using Twists when I am out and about is that they are relatively inexpensive. If I break or lose one, no great heartbreak.
