You're not doing anything wrong. That happened to me when I first started to vaped, I ordered e-juice with the kit and their juice was already steeped so it tasted so good. I went to other supplier ECB ordered 20 different juices and was freshly made. Taste them all its all perfumey like i'm vaping flowers or chemical. Reading and you tube gave me a knowledge to steep them. Now my juices has been sitting for almost a month, and yeah it taste different and you can tell by the colors. You can order from other vendors that sells that is already steeped and I keep them for my back-ups while waiting for my juices to steep. I also order my juices from MVB and its steeping right now.

I've found myself mixing many of my juices together to better create flavors that work for me.

I just started adding mint to most of my juices when I vape them. Seems to really liven them up. I highly recommend Vanilla Ice from MBV. As well as the Spearmint and White Out.

I like to add some of their Ruby Red Grapefruit e-juice ( not to be confused with the actual juice I mentioned in my previous post Hehe) for that lightly bitter flavor. I like giving ALL my tastebuds a workout. :)

You're doing great. Enjoy the ride. :)

there are some great suggestions here!
I suggest getting some unflavored. I actually vape it daily along with a mild menthol. I found that I like mild flavors and I don't seem to like complex flavors. unflavored, mild menthol, some fruits. I am one of those who dislikes more flavors than I like.
a month into vaping and suddenly the liquids I was vaping I hated! so be careful about buying large quantities until you have been vaping several months at least

I wanted to give everyone an update as to how I was doing since the last time I posted I was a little disappointed and discouraged. Well, suffice it to say, I'm doing really well now. The juices that I had originally thought were too sweet and tasted like chemical have mellowed out. I kept the tops open for 24 hours, then let them steep longer, while shaking the bottles once a day. I do not love all the flavors, and I'm not sure I've found my "all day vape" but many of the juices that I couldn't stand in the beginning I'm beginning to really like now. I feel like I have a handle on the routine of vaping and I'm starting to get a satisfied feeling when I vape, similar to when smoking cigarettes. I also feel as though I know better what to order in the future. I realized that I don't like heavy sweet dessert flavors except for once in a while and I am tending to like the crisper, cleaner tastes, such as green apple for longer vapes.

I've saved the very best news for last - I haven't smoked a cigarette in two days! There have been moments when I've been really tempted, but the last time I smoked one, I realized that it tasted quite horrible and I put it out immediately. I love the fact that I don't smell like smoke; my car doesn't have ashes all over it, I don't have to shiver outside, and I'm not slowly committing suicide by cigarette. Although two days is only two days, I'm feeling pretty optimistic that this is going to work for me long term. I wanted to thank everyone for their suggestions and comments; I took your advice to heart and it really helped me when I was feeling unsure that first day. And you were all right; steeping the juices makes one hell of a difference in the way they taste. I can't wait to see how they mature and develop as another week goes by.

So thank you again to everyone who responded with encouragement and advice. I think when I first got that package in the mail, I was looking for something that tasted like a cigarette. I realize now, just after a 4 days, that vaping will never taste like a cigarette. It tastes vastly better! :toast:

you can look up quicker ways to steep (warm water trick) to see if that helps.

I rapidly steep a bottle of my diy juice before. The diy I made was maple, banana and waffle; the thought was far better than my execution. All three flavors separated and didn't come together on the initial mix, so I did a rapid steep. I made 30 mils of the juice and I rapidly steeped 15mil and placed the other 15mils a cabinet (cap and nipple off) for 7 days, I was also shaking the juice everyday. At the end of the 7 days both bottles tasted the same. The juice just wasn't a winner! Lmao

I read few post on rapid steeping and watched a YouTube video. Here's what I did; boil water (rolling boil) and place the bottle of juice in the boiling water for about 20 minutes. after that time take the bottle of juice out and let cool (your bottle may expand so be carefull) and after it's cooled give it another try.

Your issue is juice related and vapers are a picky about juice. I've personally never had mbv juice, but I've heard a lot of good things about many flavors. I personally diy just for the reason of I'm very picky and like to tinker.

Exactly! I never really understood people that were trying to quit smoking cigarettes by attempting to find something that looked and tasted just like a cigarette, although I guess we all do that subconsciously at first. That said I'm finding I DO like a little tobacco flavor in two different juices (neither from MBV), a good RY4 and a menthol that a friend gave me.

As someone who habitually buys MBV juices I can say I agree with others in this thread. One of the things I really love about MBV (besides the outstanding price!) is being able to customize your liquid with different nicotine levels, PG/VG blends and, most importantly, extra flavor shots. Some flavors really need the extra shots, others are almost too strong without any extra shots. The other thing I enjoy about ordering from them is reading customer reviews, especially the ones that actually tell you what blend they are reviewing! i.e. 18mg/ml nicotine, 65/35 pg-vg blend, "2 extra flavor shots", etc. This really helps me plan my orders carefully. Typically if I buy a flavor that seems too weak, but I still like it, I'll order another bottle with a few flavor shots in it and then mix a bit of the two together to get the right flavor profile I am happy with... this can also help with steeping some, if you add some juice fresh out of the box to one you have had steeping for awhile... At least it gives you something that is vapable without having to wait a week or two to get it there ;)

As for straight "out of the box"? I like their "Lemonade" in the morning and this one was good straight out of the box. I bought a bridgeless dripping atomizer specifically just for this one because it's one of those flavors that you shouldn't put in a plastic tank. Very crisp and tart, almost no sweetness at all. While I didn't think I liked the "sweet" juices either I discovered their Caramel Apple has somehow become one of my "all day vapes". I like it so much that it never gets a chance to steep for very long before I'm filling a tank with it... I ordered a 30ml bottle (18mg/ml, 65/35, 2 extra shots) last week and half of it is gone already! I ordered a 50ml bottle (18mg/ml, 50/50, with FOUR extra shots) already to blend what's left of the first one with! Their "Fudge Brownie" (24mg/ml, 50/50, no extra shots) I also thought was curiously good, even straight out of the box, although that one IS too sweet for me to vape very much. I use it often as my dessert vape :D

The advantage of most other juices is that they are not made fresh... who knows how long they have been sitting on a shelf or in a box somewhere? The point is that often many of these taste pre-steeped because in a way, they probably are. That said, while I do try some juice from other places I bet nine out of every ten dollars I spend on juice goes to MBV.

Anyway, hang in there girl! I think you are on the right path, with the right gear and the right mind set, and have already made it further than others might. As others have said, it DOES improve after your first few days or weeks!

Firstly, congratulations Jenny! Not everyone is able to just put down the "stinkies" immediately, and even if you smoke one or two you are still well on your way. I'm so glad that you are feeling better about vaping, and that you feel it will work for you.

Your tastes will continue to evolve. You may find that you will like vapes in a couple of weeks that you don't like now. Just set those aside for now and vape the ones that you do like, then revisit the less favored ones later. I recommend (again) drinking lots of water while you vape, and a tongue scraper worked wonders for me too. Once you get the hang of vaping - taking a pull/draw/toke, hold it in your mouth and then inhale. Try to relax the exhale so that some of the vapor goes through your sinuses. You will get the full flavor of the vapor that way. Some vapes taste different on the exhale and inhale...it's part of the fun, in my opinion.

One other Mount Baker Vapor hint: If you go online and use the Live Chat feature, you can tell them which flavors you like now and they can suggest some flavors similar to the ones you like. It is very helpful, and it helps save you from purchasing blindly. Now that you know you don't like the heavy sweet categories, you can branch out in small steps.

Everything concerning the smells of smoking (you, your environment, your clothing, etc) does smell better without the cigarette smoke. I never really liked it but realized that I tolerated it as a smoker. I personally was relieved that vaping didn't taste like smoking.

This thread already has a lot of input from others in this community supporting you. Please continue to ask questions and post your experiences. There are people here who are interested and will provide whatever help possible.

I know somebody will get mad at me for saying this, but compared to the juice vendor I use, the mtbaker juice is junk. I made a good size order from there with about 12 flavors. They were all weak, at least to my liking. I use diyflavorshack and the juice there is far above the rest. I smoke the Holy Grail ry4. I now use tanks but I tried juices on clearos and I hated everyone so it depends what you use too...Don't give up. I have learned as a new vapor that the experimenting phase is expensive, but once you find what you like it will all pay for itself over smoking.

EDIT: TO be fair my Mtbaker juices are only a week old so they may need to steep...Thanks

I am a big flavor guy too and most of my bottles from MVB now have three or four extra flavor shots. Some are strong enough though without them!

Just got in my new order of 50ml "Thug Juice", another 50ml of "Caramel Apple" and a 50ml of "Hawk Sauce" (it's an NFL thing ;) ). They kindly threw in a 15ml bottle of "Tropic Thunder" as a free sample and while I haven't got to taste it yet it sure smells good!

What works for any of us might not work for others. You are absolutely entitled to your opinion and your experience. There are dozens of e-liquid companies out there, and there is a reason for it. It is helpful to inexperienced members to hear a variety of opinions, especially if they are looking for another juice supplier. JennyOO has stated that she likes the "crisp" flavors. Do you have any diyflavorshack flavor suggestions along that line? She might like to hear it.
Finding a favorite juice was a huge challenge for me when I was beginning to vape. I found several at MBV, and they are the only supplier that I have ordered from several times. That's my experience, after trying several vendors. The important thing here is finding juices that work for her, since she posted when struggling.

I have 30 different flavors from Mt Baker ... I hate sweet flavors I have found out, I like the more subtle types, seems like the more subtle it is the more I can vape where as the sweeter flavors I can vape them but a few hits and I am pretty done on that.

I vape all day long these mt bakers: all 50/50 24mg 30ml bottles (these are all not sweet, subtle ones, the 5 below I found do not need steeped to vape, I agree most of their stuff does need to steep for about a week under normal conditions)

Iced Tea (1 flavor shot, this taste exactly like the instant tea you drink, which I really am not a fan of but vaping it seems to work well)
Lemondade ( 1 flavor shot, this is slightly bitter like the pulp, tastes like real lemonade with the pulp)
Ginger Ale (this tastes like ginger ale, very subtle flavor)

Others I really like that are subtle not sweet:

Pink Lemonade (yup tastes like pink lemonade, same as lemonade but smoother and no sour exhale, think country time pink lemonade flavor)
Wintergreen (tastes like a wintergreen lifesaver, you need to like wintergreen lifesavers to like this I am pretty sure)

A lot of their flavors I find very sweet and I didn't add shots to them, a few I have added 1 shot but these are 30ml bottles so that should not change them so dramatically it would make a huge difference

So all tastes being subjective I just happen to like subtle flavors or I get sick of them at light speed, bland common flavors I guess one would say

Your absolutely right just my preference is diyflavorshack. And to reiterate, I didn't mean to bash mtbaker, and I didn't let my stuff steep. With Dawn's juices I am just used to vaping it right away.

Dawn the owner is great and if somebody is new and emails her with what they like, or think they like, she could probably steer them the right way and she sends samples of others with the order... I recommend shooting her an email Jenny if you want to see what she recommends. dawnsflavors@gmail.com
