I've been vaping now for about 6 weeks and overall, I have to say I'm really, really disappointed. I was so excited to discover a minimart ecig actually tasted great and made me not want a cig. I did months of research, joined this forum and read everything I could find for a newbie. Saved up and bought a kgo/juice/carto's ... nothing but trouble. Between the cartos tasting like metal, coughing more than I ever did with cig and a few dozen other problems, it's just been such a let down I can't believe it. I really thought this would be the thing to finally help kick smoking. Too bad it wasn't. :(

I think the biggest trick is to find a liquid that you really, really like. I started with a, what I call, "micro" kit and went nuts just trying to keep it running between poor battery and cartridge life. I graduated to a "mini" and have been satisfied. Now, I'm using an X2 from Volt quite a bit along with their minis with either CE3s or clearos. Both of those deliver far more vapor and flavor than cartos. Incidentally, the X2 will accept Ego style tanks and so on or 808 devices and are regulated quite well.

Anyhow, finding the "right" liquid is the biggest task. I'm happy with RY4 right now, but I do keep trying other liquids. I cab inly suggest beking patient and trying some different liquids, your setup should work well and help you get off of tobacco. Don't give up, it's a worthwhile effort!

hope you are not running the carts dry...burned polyfill tastes awful.
i have the kgo and i love it.

but vaping isn't smoking and.its not the same. make sure your carts are full. never try to vape a dry cart! try new juice flavors as they don't all taste good to everyone. and do drink water. PG an vg can both dehydrate you and might contribute to off flavors.

more suggestions coming i am sure!

Boge cartomizers. Some people here let me know the metal taste was a problem with Boge, don't recall why. Lucky me, all 3 packs I bought had the problem and couldn't afford to buy more or something different. Tanks...clearomizers...honestly, there's too much info to figure out which one to buy, what it is, how it works, etc etc etc.

Direct dripping...my kgo didn't come with an atomizer and again, I'm just tired of throwing my money away.

No, I do not smoke the carts dry...honestly, I've read and read and read up on this stuff here and other places. I've seen dozens of videos about filling/cleaning/caring for this stuff. I'm honestly doing everything everyone says to do...drinking over a gallon of water a day, check the cartos constantly, drop a few drops in when it even looks dry...all that. I clean them, don't even use the cone thing so I can feel if the carto's too warm.

i went to my old boss's house a while ago. he had an $800 pressure washer.

i said why the hell do you need that? how often do you even use it?

he said he could have either bought that or 3 crappy small ones that all broke for the same price or just got that one, which would last forever.

wisdom.

meaning....???

If I were you, I'd spend just a few more dollars on a good atomizer and a drip tip.

For dripping, I would check out the LR306, the HH.357, the Cisco 306, or if you want, the Clouds of Vapor dual coil atomizer.

When I started out, I used nothing but cartos. I refilled each of them 10-15 times before they died, on a 4081 battery. They were terrible, tasted like crap, but it was all I could afford.

I gave up, bought a pack of Marlboro Smooth's, and I called it a day. Then one day, I decided to give it another try, dripping style. I got myself a Riva kit and some LR atties, and the whole face of vaping changed for me.

Hey, if you've got the juice right, then experience it to it's potential :)

Cartomizers are convenient, yes, but not a single cartomizer has ever matched up to dripping for me. The only thing that comes remotely close is the eGo Vision Stardust rebuildable. I would invest in one of those too!

I still think you should try a CE3 or clearomizer. I'm only familiar with Smokless Image, but their clearomizer is filled simply by removing the tip/mouthpiece and putting liquid in directly from a bottle, dropper or whatever. They're easy to clean, just fill with water and shake them out a few times, then let them dry overnight. Their clearo is an 808 thread, but there are plenty of 510 thread clearomizers out there as well. For a couple of bucks invested in one or two, you might save your original investment and stay off tobacco. If I'm wrong, I apologize in advance, but I really think you'll find a whole world of difference, even compared to the minimart e-cig you used. Since I've started using clearos and CE3s when I use a carto it makes me wonder why I even bothered with them.

if you're using the cartos that came with the kgo....theres problem #1. What cartos are you using? Also, what resistance?

no, bought the Boge cartos everyone recommended. It came with cartos that were almost tasteless no matter how much juice went in...but at least the didn't taste like metal. lol

Carto's do tend to mute the flavor. Depends on the carto, but no matter what I've used, they definitely mute the flavor...

I would second the boge problem. There are alot of discussions about QC lately and I have to say that I loved a boge in a tank, but now cannot even get through one tank full before I have problems. Check out some of the other suggestions - I have been going strong for months and am using some relatively inexpensive rebuildables for the moment and drip. Sames money over the long term and you can try different juices easily.

I would get a vision 2 Clearo with replaceable heads or a Kanger T2 clearo before i gave up. They are way better than cartos with filler.

I experimented with many different types of set ups until I found the one that worked for me...I would try the classifieds maybe and see if there's something there a little different than you have now before giving up on vaping...what works for some doesn't always work for others that's why I never suggest what to get to people...good luck my friend!!
