All is Not Lost...

Quitting Analogs can be Tough. But you can't quit until you start. And it sounds like you have started. Good.

I know this Forum has a Bunch of People who say that they took One Hit off and e-Cigarette and never Smoked an Analog again. I think that is Great.

But there are also a Ton of People, myself included, who had a Very Hard Time quitting.

Hey maybe I missed it.

What mg e-liquid are you using? And what PG to VG Ratio are you using?

I won't give up. I know this works, it does now, I only smoke 2/day now and that's in the morning - can't handle vaping in the morning, makes my throat raw and cough like crazy.

I use Lester from Dark City Vapor, absolutely LOVE it. 80/20 and 16mg Nic.

Hi Maryliz.

I can definitely relate to what you're saying and this is why I have devised a few strategies.

1. I feel just as comfortable dripping as I do using a tank
2. Have backups for the backups
3. Having a tank, different cartos and a few attys is not that expensive.

Also, something similar happened to me on a recent weekend getaway. I took my box mod and lavatube as well as 8 batteries with me. Naturally I have a charger that works with both AC/DC power and all batteries were fully charged before leaving. My 801 (that I use to drip) died and so did the spare. It must have been a bad batch. I pulled out the tank and used the 2.0 dual coil carto and still had two more tank cartos as well as 2 Boge 2.0 with me.

The 801s cost about 3.50 a piece and the cartos cost about 1.50 or so. It is not a big investment to have multiple types, even if just as a backup plan.

Good Deal.

Even if you Smoked Just 2 a Day for awhile that would be a Victory over Smoking Analogs All Day.

Drink a lot of Water. Get a little more Exercise. And consider bumping up your Nicotine perhaps from 16mg to 20 or 24mg to get you over the Hump when your ready.

You can always go back to 16mg when you have a month or two under your belt Analog Free.

Going to a Higher mg was the Only thing that got me Completely off Analogs.

2 things to try..... A clearo (vision stardusts), some people don't like them, I loved them. Also, try a Ce3 phoenix bottom coil. Neither of those options will give you a metallic taste. Some say they mute flavor, and that may be true, but I personally can't stand the taste of metal in cartos, so I'll take the trade off.

Don't give up on yourself. Unfortunately it's a journey, and it's definitely not one-size-fits-all.

Maryliz- it sure sounds like bad Boges. Do you want me to put up some links to suppliers that have other cartos?

No thank you, I don't think I want to try any more cartos right now but thank you for offering the links. I'm going to try dripping and a tank and/or clearomizer once I find out prices. I don't have any shops nearby (2-3hr drive to the nearest) so I'm stuck with an online buy.

maryliz,

Don't give up yet. We all want you to succeed !!

ADVICE:
I think you should find an experienced person to help you get past this rough spot.
- Ask someone in the forums that is near you to help you.
- Go see the great folks at E-Cig City in Laguna Beach, CA (they are close) They will help you, they helped me.

I am in Costa Mesa, CA - PM me if you want to get help and are close by.

You're about 3 hrs south of me, but I truly appreciate your offer. Same for visiting E-Cig City. Not in the budget this month unfortunately.

I agree, you should try dripping. I'd suggest a couple of 510 attys around 2.0 ohms, a drip tip, drip shield and two 510 shorty extensions, one sealed and one not. The reason for the two shortys is because they effect the draw and one might be perfect for you and the other terrible. If you vape and drive much you might want a couple resurrecter 1.7 cartos so you aren't trying to drip behind the wheel.

If you goto the Pay It Forward section you will find many members willing to give these kind of items away to members in your exact situation. Don't hesitate to take advantage of any help offered there, its the whole purpose of PIF. We all needed help getting it figured out and that is one way we pay it back.

Can't seem to find that section...never belonged to a forum before this so maybe I'm just not looking in the right place. How do I find it?

Been dripping since I started... cartos never worked for me... I found I was always gargling juice... or tasting filler...

I found one carto that works well for me... some kind of dual coil from ikenvape... but I still find myself dripping 99% of the time...

Believe it or not... a good drip tip really can enhance your vaping experience... the length, shape... etc...

Mary, keep trying. I went round and round with a product called Green Nicotine and I hated it but knew I had to quit smoking. I was refered to FreedomSmokeUSA by my doctor and discovered the wide world of e-Cigarettes and bought a Jessy kit. It worked but I was not fully satisfied with it so I kept on looking. I have found it and am just shy of 1 year without a cigarette (analog) and will steam right through year 2 without a problem. Taste is subjective and so is preference, I have tried things that others have sworn on and hated it.

What works well for me is:

Provari Variable Voltage from ProVape
HH357 Atomizers from AvidVaper

In closing, keep trying you know you should quit smoking and e-cigarettes have worked for a lot of people. They worked for me and I am VERY stubborn.

Thanks Jen, I shoulda posted a link.

Something else that might be happening with you, everybody's tastebuds go dead on them around first month vaping. When they do, you can't taste your juice or your favorite juice suddenly tastes like .... When this happens it's best to have some really strong flavors on hand, menthol, cinnamon, black liquorice, chai tea, clove......something to break through and at least give you some flavor. This usually lasts for a couple days to a couple weeks. The smoking 2 analogs a day might cause it to last on the long side. I couldn't stand menthols when I smoked, but at times a good menthol vape really hits the spot. Don't scratch it off the list automatically.

Another thing, if you can list the brand and flavor of that first disposable that worked for you, we might be able to help recreate the results for much cheaper. It was probably a Chinese juice and fairly common threaded carto.

Dont feel too bad maryliz, my experience similar to yours, except mine was that I HATED the juices I got to start off.

You can have all the equipment to try out but if you literally can't vape the juice you have it's all for naught.

Not in the budget this month unfortunately.

Once I bought my start up hardware, I realized that getting juices to try was going to cost me about the same again. I had to wait until this month to re-order stuff, as I'm on a strict budget.

Bottom line, I am really unable to appropriately *test* my setup until I find juice I can stand taking more than 10 inhales on to test with. :)

I've already had leaking plastic needle tip bottles, a leaky clearo, and a bad-tasting carto. The charger for one of my knock-off bats has the light on the bottom so when you plug it into your outlet you can't SEE the charge light without getting down and looking behind it. STuff like that. Overall, I think some of the *crap* that is for sale is just that.........crap. But, beer budget doesn't buy champagne, so I'm trying to balance that by having a realistic expectation.

I certainly don't disagreee with anything you've said. :) I believe the initial investment for some is going to be a bit high until you settle in on 3-4 juices and choose 1 or 2 delivery methods you can live with.

So far, I like my vision v2 rebuildables. They do seem to go thru juice pretty quickly, but are easy to refill, atty coils easy to pop on and off, and they are easy to clean. (I can't afford the vivi nova tank rebuildable). I also suggest buying extra tanks in case one cracks.

Personally, I am not liking the taste of cartos, I can taste the polyfill and the metal, but that's just me.

I had the same problem, and like you the liquid was the only one I got right. Started out with the gas station disposables, they were ok, and lasted until the vape shop a few blocks away opened. Bought an ego-t a couple of clearomizers and a box of Kanger cartos and a drip tip. The clearo worked ok for a few days, flavor was muted but I did not know this at the time. Then the clearo died, and the next 5 were junk. Tried the regular ego-t setup, flavor was better, some leaking, ok, a lot of leaking until I got some silicon end caps. Then the t atomizers were giving me trouble. The Kanger cartos were pretty good but there was that poly fill taste to them. Upgraded to the ego-c using its normal set up, flavor was good, so was vapor and throat hit, but I was still missing something. Finally bought a joye lr 306 started direct dripping and never looked back. If you have 510 drip tips get a 510 dripping atomizer, if you buy a 306 atomizer you will need a special drip tip.

I'm pretty sure what Souvik meant by "those who can splurge" was people who can afford to buy every different e-cig model, carts, attys and mods under the sun to try them out until they find what they like. Not that vaping was only for people who can splurge.

Thanks Kristin...i could not have explained myself any better...

Not sure how you got the impression I have a problem with the flavor juice I have...I love the juice I have. It's the metal taste in the Boge cartos that I've got a problem with. I don't have any other cartos other than the ones that came with it, which I use when the metal tase is just too awful. They're longer, no idea what kind but they mute the taste to nearly nothing and produce very very little vapor.

The type of ecig I bought were Square brand ecigs but like I said, the juice isn't the problem. It was a disposable one, nobody in my area even sells ecig supplies other than that type.

:)

So Calif
maryliz I'm not sure where you are if you're 3 hours north of Costa Mesa, but if you will PM me I will send you a brand new unused dripping atomizer threaded for a 510 connection and a brand new unused drip tip to go on it. You have batteries that work and juice you love.

I'm up in the high desert north of Palm Springs. I'm female, 72, and no threat to you, so giving me an address to mail to is safe. Alternatively you can give me a general delivery address at your post office.

I had not visited the PIF forum before now but it appears that one must make an offer to accept an offer, and I doubt you have anything to do that with at this point in your journey.

I would like to see you succeed.
