I felt the same way at first. Then I realized that I was going between 2 and 3 hours without refilling or dripping (my first carto lasted 4 hours!) and I started to like it better. I now use my 808 almost exclusively because I refill a bunch of cartos (20 - 30) on Sunday afternoon and don't have to do much during the week. Sometimes I top off a carto, but usually I just grab another and throw the old one in my bag.
I especially like the fact that If I want to change flavors I can just screw on another carto. The 808 PCC is a lot better than my 510 PCC. There is no longer the concern over a bad atomizer or that lovely taste when breaking in a new atty. With the 40+ cartos I have, the stock of 510 and 901 batts, 510 and 901 passthoughs, and the juice I have on hand I can probably go 3 or 4 months without ordering juice with nicotine and who knows how long using 0 nic PG from the pharmacy (510 batts need an adapter, I drilled a hole in the 901 batts for air draw) in case the US FDA makes things really bad.
Also keep in mind that not all cartomizers are equal. I personally really like my LeCig and V4L cartos and Bluegrass Vapor has good ones too at a nice price. The juice you refill with is the next issue. Poor juice = poor performance. I have my favorites and my mistakes. LeCig, ULTRApure and Vermont Vapor are high on my list after Ms T's Bakery when I want some bacon, french toast or apple pie to balance the camel and flue-cured tobacco. I have also been experimenting with Alien Visions. So, it is not just the electronics, but the juice that might be the issue you are working with.
I go through a lot less paper towels and my desk is no longer constantly covered with bottles, syringes, polyfil and fluval. Fiddling with my 510 and 901 cartridges was great for keeping my hands busy and getting involved when I first dropped analogs, but now I enjoy the
vaping more than the experimenting. I did have to get used to less vapor and hit than I had with my 801 atty on a Copper up to. Man, I could go through some juice fast...
You may adjust like I did or go back to the tried and trusty 510. I try out my 510, 901, 801, be112 and Copper about weekly, but always end up carryng and using my cartos. I have actually started using the 510 soft cartos more and more so I guess I am officially using an 808/510.
Good luck.
