Drove from SoCal to Portland then Seattle. I did not want to keep filling carts, so filled 2 clearomizers, and 10 cartomizers. Charged my eight 510 batts so I'm set for the long drive.

Nothing but problems. bottom line: 8 of the 10 carto's failed. I filled them perfectly and nothing comes out even with new batt. One of the clearomizers continued to work, but one failed when I screwed it onto the batt. The outer plastic tube spun, even though it was not that tight. It no longer works.

Two of the eight batts failed--will not take a charge.

Enough whining: I know how to clean/burn a std atty, but can anything be done with my 8 failed cartos? Can one take out the fuzz with tweezers and try to clean/burn?

I am really bummed by this. All this took place in one month. In my two years of vaping, I've only had one std atty that I would not recover.

its likely that the center pin on the carto's is just not long enough to hit the + pole on your batts. use tweezers to GENTLY pull up (away from the carto) on the center piece (do not twist!). Or you can use a pocket knife to gently pry the center pin up. Here is a vid tutorial:

The clearo that spun most likely spun the ceramic cap (holding the coil) causing the wire connected to the metal air tube to disconnect. You can fix by using a no-acid lead free solder (I prefer no-core solder, but using rosin should be ok if you clean it well afterwords).

Are you sure its the batteries that are dead? That video also talks about center post adjustment for batteries. Usually when batts die in bulk it is because you have a shorted atty. Try a different charger or an extension (you can get a shorty extension for under 5$ after shipping from MadVapes) and see if that helps.

I have yet to ever have one of my batteries die, so it seems unlikely to me that so many would keel over at the same time.

trying to extend the post on the cartos to make battery contact is a good idea to try, it was something I had to do before in the past.

I dont want to be "that guy" but perhaps its time to try a bigger battery, perhaps a mod? I couldn't imagine carting around all those batteries. My Reo Grand lasts all day on one charge and houses a 6ml bottle that also lasts me all day. Just throwing it out there, there are other options available ;)

PS: I totally understand if you like the smaller, cig sized, batteries and theres nothing wrong with that. Keep on vaping!
