Don't ask about the mod that requires you to be going 88mph to vape it. Lol

Haha, I'll refrain from asking then =P

If you have about 15 minutes... this might help you

Thank you! This actually answers some of my questions.

Alright now really it's coming down to this. I don't want to carry around something that is going to leak/drip/dribble in my pocket/car/desk so this whole liquid dripping thing into a beaker aka Chemistry Class/Hookah Building isn't for me. I just need a replacement that will assist me in not grabbing a cigarette. How is White Cloud disposables IYHO. Like I said I did the Cinnamon one it actually wasn't half-bad, i mean it was no d!*k pleaser but it did the job of keeping me from smoking. I hope this doesn't make this difficult for the Dr. Emmett Brown's of smoking in this forum lol.

Ego twists? Clearos? Cartos? 808 Drum Kit? Ok the last one was a joke, but seriously 808?? I'm more lost than a baby puma being pushed out from birth.

Don't listen to all that jive about buying egos and what not. Those things are huge and obnoxious in my opinion.

Your best bet is to go with a "cig-a-like" e-cig. Those are the "808s" people are referring to. 808 is basically just a battery model number, and it's the battery that typically looks just like a cigarette because it is slim and long in design.

I have been using an 808 style battery for almost a year and never had the interest or need to buy a giant battery thing. One, it draws a lot of attention and looks plain goofy. Let's face it, a lot of us are here because we used to smoke, and more than likely at least ONE of the reasons we smoked is because it looked "cool."

The best place for you to start is to get a starter kit from SmokelessImage. Their batteries last about 8 months if you have three or so to rotate around. Cartomizers are easy to purchase, they are the part where you typically find the filter on a regular cigarette. Those hold the "juice" that contains the nicotine and they're pretty easy to refill, which will take your dollars a lot farther.

Here is a link to the kit I started with.

There are some coupons out there that can save you a good bit of cash up front, PM me if you want a code.

Hope this helps.

All you need to decide is what colors you want, and whether or not you want to push a button while you take a drag. I personally get better results out of the push button (manual) version, because I too was disappointed with the results of the typical "automatic" kind where you simply drag on it to activate it.

I think someone new to vaping and all of the terminology should start with something dependable and versatile, like a Joyeyech Ego. MOST posters can agree that a simple Ego set up is easy to understand and reliable/versatile for a beginning vaper.

OP: Please read Baditude's blog: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...06-4-good-starters-setup-beginning-vapor.html. It is VERY informative and breaks down in simple terms how to "get your feet wet" in the vaping world. Mods, rebuildable attys, Provaris, etc. can come later once you understand how everything fits together and works for YOU.

Just for the future, and a proceed with caution tape warning, but I may be new here though I know when someone is calling someone out. Calm it down, if you got something to say PM them, It's not necessary to bring it out so others can see it. (In the Military it's called 'Tact' "The more you know!") Yeah I might be confused as hell, but I am not asking for this to be a e-drama filled thread, haha. "e-drama" and this is an "e-cig" forum lol, made myself laugh. Again not picking on anyone here, just keep it professional, no fights in my threads or I will ask to have it removed/closed. Seriously. Thanks!!

P.S. No hard feelings =P

How comparable is this too, say... Disposables from White Cloud? Taste, Vapor, Thickness, Weight... Thank again though for your suggestion!

Yeah, I guess I don't. Have fun with your Provari.

Lol, that wasn't aimed at you. Just a general speaking. Sorry, txt on here can get way out of context. I don't plan on purchacing anything from anyone until I know and have a general idea of what the heck im even doing. So don't take it personal at all, because its not. You actually are helping a loads, and if it wasn't me (which it is btw) your helping those that come on here that have the similar problem! So again again again, Thank you!

Very Respectfully,
The new guy. =P

I might be able to help since I just recently started, and went through a ton of info.

Here's my take. At first I got an Joyetech (make) eRoll (make), those are the cig-a-likes, but quickly found the constant filling and heating up annoying.

Then I got a Joyetech (make) eGo-C Twist (model) 900mah (batter size) which lasts me almost a full day going through about 3-5 ml of juice at 12mg nicotine (I smoke about a 1/2 pack to a pack a day for 8 years).
For the Twist, I got a Kanger (make) T3 (model) clearomizer (the type of juice delivery system), for these you buy extra coils specifically for the model to replace every week to 2 or once the flavor turns bad. But then I read some scary .... about the wick (material that the juice soaks in through to the coil that burns it) being from silica (or something like that) and apparently it might be dangerous to inhale. The wicks can be redone/rebuild to use cotton or bamboo but it's too much of a hassle, and requires some other devices.

Then I decided to try cartotanks (cartomizer with a tank, this is the second type of juice delivery system). By that time, my plastic T3 got ugly from constant use, all scratched and beat up. So I decided to go with a pyrex system (some sort of glass?) which holds up better but is still prone to breaking if dropped. There's a couple people who make pyrex cartotanks, but I found IBTanked (maker) to be the best bang for the buck. Some other are little vendors, and Phiniacs (another maker) but those cost much more. Ordered the complete set, some extra cartomizers (which, once again, need to be replaced every few weeks just as the coils in the clearomizers). I got the Smoktech pre-punched 2.0ohms (you usually take the ohm rating, multiply by 2, and that's your maximum voltage - you can go anything below, just try it out with the juice you're smoking, but in this case I set my Twist to about 4 - 4.2). I haven't tried other cartomizers, but Ikenvapes are supposedly good but hard to find. I'll try to get an order of them, along with Boge cartos at different Ohm ratings to taste the difference. Low Resistance (LR) 1.8-2.0 ohms, from what I understand, give a more warm vape, and Standard Resistance (SR) 2.4-2.6 Ohms have a cooler vape. I've been very happy with the IBT tank, and will probably order more because the cartomizers taste weird if you switch the juice you're pouring in at some time. As a recent smoker, I like the crackling popping sound the cartotanks make which I didn't find with the clearomizer.

Now, I'm deciding whether to get another Twist as a back up when the one I have runs out of batteries - which is frustrating (probably the 650mah one since it's smaller) or jump straight to a Provari (the more expensive, but better USA made one) which is Variable Voltage/Wattage and all that jazz. Mechanicals and RBA atomizers are still confusing to me at this point, and I'm not sure I want to go that route.

Feel free to make your decisions based off of my story so far, but do research anything you found confusing in more detail. Also, visit an actual physical store if there are any in your proximity as that cleared up a bunch of questions for me by being able to try, taste, and touch different devices and juice.

Best of hopes,
Aleks

Alright well... I went ahead and just bought myself a... lmfao well I don't even know. I know its a eGo Series CE5 (Heard about the leakage I know...) and it was a rushed purchase. Now the question is how do I take the Atomized device/coil apart. This might be ......ed to ask, but on the User Manual it has the CE models listed with Check marks and Xs. I'm assuming that the Checkmarks are Yes and the Xs are No, though on the CE5 it has a X next to "Replaceable atomized device/coil". So this means I can't take it apart? I see videos of it being able to be taken apart, but maybe this version doesn't? Now the Battery is pretty big, not like the Disposables that I have used.

I bought some Strawberry flavor (16mg Nicotine), but I swear that this doesn't taste much like strawberry... It has a hint of fruity-ness, but honesly it hits pretty hard. I really wish there was a bit more info other than this lmfao. It was a starter set, though when I look at other picture it comes in a case, and mine came in a black box... Lmfao. I'm not regreting though I know this isn't it. I read on here about break in periods (1/2 - full use)... though it kinda tastes like a really bad hookah lmfao.

More than likely it's going to be way better than any disposable, though I can't compare since I've never used a disposable. Weight's probably going to be around the same for all of your cig-a-likes. I'm currently using a manual battery with V2 liquimax blanks (or Kanger T4s). Vapor is awesome and these are SUPER easy to refill and you don't have to wait for the juice to "soak in" with the liquimax's. They also last way longer than your typical cartomizer.

UPDATE

Well I went to bed and awoke to what seems like a completely different taste. I actually tastes like Strawberries... somewhat haha. I no longer taste that burning. Now maybe its just a placebo effect.. but I'll hit this some more through out the day and give another update. I really didn't want to go this route where I have to drop liquids, but honesly with how much 1.6ml for the atomizer... thats crazy enough to last me over a day. I was hitting it like a mad dog last night and the liquid barely moved.

Just a question, (as if not all my posts are questions), though a good upgrade from my atomizer would be...?

Thanks again for everyones' help!

UPDATE

It's been about 6 hours and a few things I have noticed about the eGo Ce5; First I withdraw my statement about how .8ml would last me a long time. I guess I'm a chain vapor-er-er? Yeah I'm done with .8ml in approx 1.5 -3 hours. Now I'm not sure if it leaks in my pocket, since I have yet to test it, (Maybe stick it in a paper towel and then in my pocket to see if it is?) but none-the-less I'm slaying my e-liquid like a Marine slays Dragons (Remember those old Marine commericals? lmfao). Secondly, because of all this dragon slaying, I'm looking for more liquid that will satisfy my needs/wants. Following off that, I really need to learn how to clean this clearo!!! I can't take this mother-f apart. Its like stuck together. I am looking at the videos and none of them look like mine. I'll take a picture and maybe the Dr. Browns of this forum can assist? Lastly, OMG I didn't even grab for a cig! All day! I haven't done that in idk how many years!! Then again I'm hitting a 16mg Nicotine Strawberry Flavored e-liquid, but still its not a "stinky"! WOOHOO!

Maybe I should switch this too a blog? lol

UPDATE

Sorry I have not been on much, though this is due to my wife giving birth the same day as my last comment. We had a boy who we named Kayden. He is a preme (35 months) but still non-the-less beautiful. Anyways on to the update. Since that day I have not touched a single stinky!! Woohoo go me! I have also moved from 16mg down to 6mg of nicotine (though I do miss that throat hit). I feel like this really was the right move for me. Though I do have a question. I have a friend who is filipino and he talks about Mods. What is a mod, well more in general what is this mod; SS Avenger by EMI - Full Mech - Mod Kits - MODS & Batteries ?

On the actual unit itself, I want to upgrade lol. Something that doesn't leak as much. I hate tasting the eliquid when I go to take a hit. Having to take it apart, then clearing it, then reattaching it every 5-8 hits is annoying.
