I am a GUY from L.A. not girl. lol
hi, please can you halp me, im looking to make my own 0mg juice but am not sure what i need?

pg/vg one or the other or both?
i know i need the flavourings.

i live in the uk so does anyone know what shops i can get it from?

many thanks, and sorry if this has been posted somwhere else but i couldnt find it

All you need is some VG, most drug stores in the states carry it. I imagine it's the same where you are. As far as flovorings go, you can use any flavor extract you like from your local market, I am vaping Pure Vanilla extract/VG and some VG with nicotine. Though it is nice even without the nic.

im a bit lost as to which one i prefer.
iv had some juice before that is quite thick and gloopy, and what i am using at the moment is nice thin and clearer juice. whenever i vape the thicker one i get small spots on my forehead and the most itchiest legs known to man

so i want the clear juice but im not sure if this is vg/pg?

PG and VG are both clear. PG is thin while VG is thick. People who make strictly VG liquids use either distilled water or Pure Grain Alcohol to thin it.

I use a blend of 20%/80% VG/PG.

Yes to the above. Almost everyone seems to agree that VG is smoother than PG, but for some reason I find it kind of harsh. Go figure. Everyone's different.

But I do like to use a bit to boost the vapor production.

Also, one more note on flavorings - avoid oil-based flavors. It will gunk up you atty, so stick to water soluble. I think alcohol-based is good too (i have an alcohol based tobacco flavoring, but haven't used it yet - though I haven't heard of anyone having problems with it hurting their attys).

I disagree somewhat. I have been using LorAnn's oils for @ a week and my attys are just fine. No problems, same cleaning required as alcohol extracts or premixed juice. Many of the premade juices use LorAnn's or similar "oils" to flavor. I imagine if straight oil was used there might be a problem. But with using a small quantity of oil based extracts, which are stronger in flavor to alcohol based so less is used, I haven't seen/heard of any proof of this. VG/PG will gunk up all on it's own, no oil required. Just standard cleaning measures needed.

What ratio of vanilla extract to VG do you recommend?

So if going all parts[percentages] it is:

3[10%] water
3[10%] extract
8[26.67%] 36mg of nic VG [this makes the nic 9.6mg?]
16[53.33%] vg
=30[100%]

Did I do my math right?

Sounds good to me. Honestly though, I kinda halfa$$ it. It tend to use taste, smell and appearence of the viscocity to determine when it's good. I vape 36mg straight sometimes, so I'm not woried about overdoing the nic, just trying to water it down a bit to cut costs/ween myself. Later on I'll be working on more precise methodes, but for now I'm kinda just having fun. If you mix your VG/VG w/ nic first, you can just add vanilla untill you like the way it smells/tastes. If it seems to be too thick, you can then add water. What I gave you was a pretty close estimation, not an exact recipe.

Fizil,
I have to agree with the no harm to atty's when oils are used. I have been toying with the idea of using orange oil from LorAnn's. I finally said ya know what I'm gonna try it, and I did. I havent had a bit of trouble with my atty's or carto's.
Now on to Lowthudd's comment on recipes, I do the same thing, I once described making my juices the same way i make spaghetti sauce, by taste and smell. For all day vapes I don't use nic juice just VG and flavoring. I have used some guidelines as to how many drops to start with then just go from there. I tend to like my juices stronger than most, flavor wise I mean. I tend to almost double the amt. of flavoring. But thats how I like it!!!! My fave isLorAnn's Watermelon and lemon extract mixed with VG. most important is to have fun, and don't be limited to the recipes. for the cost of making no nic juice, it's worth the try, if it sucks toss it. Oh Yeah!!! always start with very small qty's, so you dont waste too much lol!!

keeping a lockhold on trade secrets :p Just kidding. Right now I'm sitting next to some vg and vanilla and about to goto town on my first diy trial. Thanks for the info :)

There are excellent DIY calculators created by a few of our members in the DIY section. I use Dan's Excel spreadsheet for pretty much all of my calculations but will bump things up and down depending on the strength of the juice.

Personally, I found that adding a bit of sweetener (such as Ethyl Maltol) to PG/VG 80/20% mixture and jumping my vanilla content up to 15% makes it vap almost like a black and mild. It really is ALL in your preferences.

First diy vape:
.8ml vg
.2 clear vanilla
.1 water

It tastes pretty weird. Kinda like creamed corn, but then again I mixed then vaped. It's in a brand new cartomizer. I noticed that the second day changed how well my juices tasted and vaped. Wow, vg has zero throat hit. Maybe the flavors will marry while in the cart over night and be more vanilla than creamed corn :p *smells bottle again* no...that's some pretty crappy vanilla smell o_O

Ok the girl I'm with says it tastes really, really good. She says it tastes like vanilla frosting or hagen daz [sp most def]. Very, very vanilla, and not like fake vanilla. Funny seeing it's clear imitation vanilla :p
