You have to account for the added flavours. 6mg is pretty low, so if you add 5% flavour for instance, it would reduce nic in the finished product to 5.7 %. I doubt whether you'll notice that small change. If you want to try out lots of different flavours it's probably best to make a larger quantity of unflavoured base in your preferred PG/VG ratio. Saves you the hassle of always starting from scratch...

How much of it you want to prepare depends on your overall consumption and the gear you're using. Some of dem darn atomizers guzzle more juice than a V8-bigblock engine ...

I buy 100mg in 500ml bottles but for testing and trying new recipes i have a 150ml bottle mixed down to about 40mg it is always enough for small batches but strong enough should i want to play with the strength while making test runs.

once you have flavors you know you will absolutely vape on all the time make up some big batches so your never out of nicely aged juice.

It can be a huge savings !

A 500ml bottle of 100mg nic liquid lasts me forever.

I mix my base at 5mg, 1000mls at a time - it takes 50mls...so that 500ml bottle will make 10 1000ml bottles for me.
(It gets knocked down in mg by adding flavor - using anywhere from 3% to 10% flavoring)

I do make up pre-made 16mg nicotine bases. I haven't much noticed enough difference in the strength being decreased by adding flavors to worry about making them higher than 16mg, which is what I use. They still come out strong enough. I like having them pre-made so I can just sit and mix when the urge hits me or when necessity hits. I'm not the only one vaping on my juice and I make it in two different strengths. The other individual doesn't notice a difference in strength either. I have vaped just the base when I didn't want to bother people with an odor, not knowing who would be bothered by what, and never could tell the difference between the base or the flavored.

I vape 18mg 70/30 and I like FW flavors at 12.5% - easy as pie

I keep an 8oz bottle with spout of base mix at 20.5mg 67/33 handy.
I add 12.5% flavor and it's within 1% of my preference.

I keep an 8oz bottle of 60mg in the fridge.

The rest is 100mg and 60mg in 135ml blue or brown glass w/polycone caps in the freezer.

The higher nic concentration gives you more options to play with pg/vg ratios.
With 60mg in PG I can't make 50/50 at 15% flavor (flavor is in pg also). Higher vg needs higher flavor %.
I can with 100mg.

I don't risk my nic. I make a zero nic base to add flavorings to. When I like one, then add the nic and just adjust flavor a bit without getting too technical about it. I'm not marketing the stuff so its just to my taste anyway. I can pretty much tell how much more to add based on what I used in the amount of nic-free base. If I do goof I just add a few drops more of my PG nic plus PG/VG if needed to maintain the right nic level. Mind, I don't do really complex juices and I vary my nic levels throughout the day... anywhere from 26mgs to zero so critical measuring of nic is not an issue for me.

I'm a total newb at DIY. If I like 6mg juice for all day vaping > Should I mix up my 6mg base first in a large bottle, then separate it into smaller portions for my different flavor attempts? Or do I do little batches for every flavor sample i'm making? Any advice would be great:blush:

When mixing large batches in pre flavor mode I always add an extra 10% nicotine. So if vaping a 6 mg juice I mix it to 6.6 mg. Not an exact method but it does "help" with the issue of dilution when adding flavoring.

Wow, thanks for all the input. I got like 15 flavors to play with and wanted to get started. Looks like I will make my 500 ml bottle of nic pg/vg base and then portion it out to my smaller 30 ml bottles. I see the suggestions for new flavor sampling to be around2-3 ml. I bought a 500ml 100mg nic pg bottle, thus equals lots of room for playing:laugh: I also like the idea of adding nic last after you get the flavor % down ... I' m justbgonna have to try different approaches and report back:party::w00t:
