Diy base mix &??? Help plz

Hello, just wanna make sure I'm doing this right or wrong. I got 100 MG 50-50 base nicotine. I realized I like my mixes at 40 pg & 60 VG. So, on calculator I put in my base 50-50 mix & 40 under PG & 60 under VG correct? Then obviously flavors & 24 MG nic level since I'm starting out. My 1st batch w/ 3 flavors was great. Made just banana & was HORRIBLE, unless banana is one that steeps a very long time? Great reviews on the flavor so not sure what went wrong? Thank you, really need to make sure I'm doing this correctly! Next time do I get an all pg or VG base nicotine or doesn't it matter?

At 24mg nicotine, unless it is really clean, it will alter the taste of flavors. I vaped 24mg when I first started and all of my juices were peppery to a point, some more noticeable than others. You may just need to change the % of the banana you made. What % did you use and for what amt total? 10ml, 30ml?

If you like a 40/60 mix, not many sell that , but some do. It's cheaper and easier to just buy separate PG and VG and mix to your preference.

Have you tried the e-juice me up calculator? It's really good, and even I figured it out.

10 ml. to start, don't wanna go bigger till I get better & great mixes. Liquix calculator, paid version on my Android. Very nice set up, easy to use, saves & all good stuff. Pre saves bases and all flavors. Any better suggestions for Android phone... Just easier then computer.

Some reason I didn't like it, maybe it's me. So simpler way to ask since your not woke up lol. [I haven't went to sleep yet]! . I use my 50 PG and 50 VG nicotine AND use the VG, and PG 40-60 ratio with whatever my calculator says. Wish I knew how to post pics, I would show u picture of the calculator, I like it.

I hope I'm really not this confused lmao.. I think what's throwing me off is base nicotine. Somebody told me 50-50 is way to go but not sure now.

i use the same calc for android. Your setup seems right but what % are you using for banana? Which flavor company is the flavor from? we need that info to help find the problem

Disco has it right. Without the specific banana and flavoring percentage, this whole thread is a tail-chase.

Lets see if I can help.
You want to make a10ml batch at 40/60 PG/VG. Thats going to be 4ml PG & 6ML VG total.

Your using 100mg/ml Nic (50/50) and want 24mg/ml strength. You will use 2.4ml in a10ml batch. For your total ratio that counts as 1.2ml of PG&VG since your Nic is a 50/50 mix.

Most flavoring is PG based so flavoring will also count towards your PG.

Your calculator should allow you to enter your Nic strength (100 mg/ml) its PG/VG ratio (50/50) and your desired finished mix strenght and ratio.

If it doesn't, I suggest trying a different calculator. I also use EJuice me up and really like it. Hope this helps.

Ripe Banana from TFA, everyone else swore by it. Made a pear, honeydew, strawberry & it was delicious, but 1 flavor was messed up lol. Maybe it needs to steep. I said 40 pg 60 VG ratio earlier, 1st time trying higher VG & I liked the smoother throat hit, maybe cuz I smoked lights?

So sorry, it's ripe banana [went w/ that cuz it's more of a 'banana" taste. TFA & 20% 40 pg 60vg. You use liquix calculator, how do u like it?

I WISH it tasted like banana Laffy taffy haha. 1 review said that but we all taste different. I don't know where to start, horrible almost chemical taste, maybe not quite chemical or peppery like some post.. Just plain horrible

Maybe I should get all PG next time & I will go through more VG. I only got a couple opinions on base nicotine & pros & cons so if anybody wants to let me know, plz do so. I love any advice! My thinking is ya gotta put in PG & VG anyway so go with 50-50! I still am waiting on my glass bottles to transfer the nicotine. Is it OK to refrigerate in the plastic? OK, enough questions. I think 20% is way too high. I would bump it down to say 7%. Others may have better advice from working with that particular flavor.

We use far less than 7% ourselves. 20% would definitely cause all manner of flavor dementia.

There are many options out there for nicotine base. Did you try your nicotine solution without any flavorings to see if it has a taste to it? Some nicotine solutions can taste peppery and that can alter the taste of any recipe. Mix your nicotine with your PG at the 24 mg you prefer and see what it tastes like.

I've heard that Inawera makes the cleanest nicotine, but I haven't tried it yet. As far as base ratio, that's a matter of personal preference. People are all over the board here in what they use. Some do all VG, some do varying ratios of PG/VG. I wouldn't recommend all PG, but that's just me. You can dilute your VG with distilled water at 5-10% to loosen it a bit.

You can refrigerate plastic, you can freeze plastic. But, if you will be receiving your glass bottles soon, I don't think you need to refrigerate anything until then.
