Make sure you FULLY understand what your doing before you start making your own juices. DIY is a lot of fun, but can be dangerous if you dont know what your doing. Nicotine base is no joke, and it using a high mg base, a small amount on your skin can def make you sick. Ask any questions you have BEFORE starting and download a good juice calculator. The calculator will do all the math for you, but make sure you always double check your inputs to make sure their right before you start making the juice. I also recommend using syringes for your measurements to ensure their accurate, especially for nic base.
Your best bet to figure out how much juice different mg nic bases will make and to give you an idea of what you should buy, I would download a juice calculator and play around with it. I use the EJuice Me Up calculator and it works really well. You put in your inputs for the mg of nic base you have and if the nic is PG or VG based or a mix, what mg you want the end result juice to be and and also how many ml of juice, what PG/VG ratio you want, what % of flavoring you want, etc etc. After all the inputs are in, hit calculate and it will give you exactly how many ml of nic base, PG, VG, flavoring, etc are needed to make that exact juice.
I would download the calculator and try putting in 60mg nic, then 100mg nic, see how much would be needed to make 10ml, 30ml, 50ml. That will give you an idea of what different mg and different size ml bottles could make and will help you decide what to get.
Then try putting in different PG/VG end result ratios and you can see how much PG and VG it will take to make 10 ml, 30ml,ect. That will give you an idea of how much PG and VG you might want to buy.
Things to keep in mind:
100mg nic base vs 60mg nic base in the same size bottle will make a larger quantity of juice bc you can use less to make whatever mg juice you want, but you have to remember that 100mg nic base is VERY strong so it becomes EXTREMELY important that you are dead on accurate with your measurements. You can make quite a bit of juice from a small amount of 100mg nicotine, so with nic base that strong, putting even .5ml more into a juice than you were supposed to could give you a juice with a MUCH higher nicotine content than you wanted, which could be dangerous. So remember, the higher the mg of nic base you use, the less room their is for error.
Take into account what PG/VG ratio juices you generally like the most and will prob make the most, before you buy nicotine base, PG, and VG. If you like mostly PG juices and plan on making the majority of your juices with 30%VG or less, your going to use alot more PG than VG for each juice, and you might want to consider buying more PG than VG because your going to go through a bottle of PG much faster than a bottle of VG. And it would be the opposite if you like VG juices and plan on making mostly VG juices. Thats why its a good idea to do what I said and try different inputs in a juice calculator. If you know your going to make most of your juices with say an 80PG/20VG ratio, youll be able to see how much quicker youll use 100ml of PG compared to 100ml of VG, and that will help you decide how much to buy of each.
Also when buying nic base you should consider what PG/VG ratio you generally prefer the most and plan on making the most. Nicotine liquid is either PG based, VG based, or a mix like 50/50, and which one you pick should take into account if you like mostly PG or mostly VG juices. If you play around with the calculator and put in all the inputs as if you were going to make a juice with the PG/VG ratio you genrally use, you can figure out which base would be best for your nic juice. If you put in all the inputs like you were really going to make a juice with your desired mg, PG/VG ratio, etc, youll be able to see how many ml of PG and VG would be needed to make that juice. Then without changing anything else, see how much PG and VG would be needed if you used PG based nicotine, VG based nicotine, and a mix. The base of the nicotine changes how much PG and VG are needed to get the whatever ratio you want for the juice. I make most of my juices around 80PG/20VG, so I use PG based nic liquid. Its important to pick the base that will be able to make your juices in the PG/VG ratio you want bc sometimes if you try to make a juice with a perticular PG/VG ratio, and your using the nicotine that isnt the right base, it can give you a negative number for the amount of PG or VG that needs to be added to make that juice. If you get a negative number for say PG, that means its saying that its not possible to make that PG/VG ratio with what your trying to use bc theres already too much PG from the nicotine and/or flavoring for your end result to be the ratio you want. So make sure you get the correct base. And take into account that the majority of flavorings are PG based as well.
If that doesnt make sense, heres an example to simplify it some. Im just making this up and I dont know if you could actually make this juice with these specific inputs or not, but you get the idea.
Say I wanted to make 10ml of juice that was 24mg and 95%VG, with 15% flavoring. That obviously means I would be putting mostly VG in and only a very small amount of PG for the juice to be 95%VG at the end. If I use nicotine base that is 100%PG and the flavoring was PG based as well, its possible that I wouldnt be able to make the 95%VG juice that I want bc the amount of PG in the PG based nicotine and flavoring thats needed for the juice could add up to more than 5%PG already, without putting any PG in. That why you would get a negative number bc its saying the only way your going to get the juice to end up with only 5% PG would be to take some out, which isnt possible.
So just make sure you educate yourself first and think and what would make the most sense to get based on what you want make, and youll be ready to start making your own juices
Goodluck and have fun with it!
