The way flavoring works in juice is independent of nicotine, PG, or VG content. Too much will result in reduced flavor and/or the taste being much different than it smells.
Indeed. And because I don't use PG nor nicotine.... I have to use much more flavor than average/usual.
When I use less flavor, my juice is nearly tasteless and then the desire for a sigaret gets unresistable.

So perhaps in the first post thread started should have posted

I have tried all kinds of flavors. Conclusion: absolutely don't like any fruit flavor nor tobacco.
What I do like is: anys/anise, absinth, fennel, licorice, almond, caramel, vanille, chocolate, turkish coffee, espresso.
Menthol only sometimes, cause it makes my nose running.

and that for medical reasons PG based (diluted in ) flavors can not be used ,also that they are not new to vaping or DIY juice creation.

What I have learned over the course of over 30 years on computer boards, user's groups / the internate and befor is that many who reply to a thread only read the last few post in the thread and less than 1% read all of the post if there are more than 2 of them. It is therefore importand that the first post contains as much of the important info as possible.

Those appear to be ejuice vendors not DIY suppliers but perhaps I am wrong.

There are many DIY suppliers who infact just market flavor concentrates purchased from the same sources. Mt. Bak V uses FW in their ejuices, they also sell FW concentrates which are also sold by Flavor West and by DIYJuice, last two owned and operated by same person. HeartLand Vapes sells flavoring which seem to be the same as FW but my guess is that very few really know who the original source of most flaorings are and very few are willing to list ingredents much less percentages.

To the best of my knowledge not a single ejuice vendor will list falavorings and percentages used in their ejuice. MBV and others sell concentrates used in their ejuice and yet they will not list the percentage of flavoring used for even a simple single one.

@Chas, yes, a lot of the AEMSA members sell only juices, except ecblend, and I have checked the rest of the makers: their flavors are all based on PG. TFA removed Chrysanthemum, Honeysuckle and Pecan (see my post #16)and their non-PG flavors are based on plastic destroying triacetin which can't be healthy for our lungs.

@FinallyQuit, In that list there seem to be some vendors that I did not yet check, but I already saw that the list is not updated, cause PerfumersApprentice/FlavorApprentice sells only 6 non-PG flavors. And at first site it seems a lot of vendors on that list just use/resell FlavorApprentice.

Another problem is, that a lot of vendors will ship to our neighbour countries, but not to the Netherlands for some odd reason, or their shipping costs are ridiculously high. Most of them don't ship anything to the EU.

So far, I've only found ecblend and naturesflavors, but naturesflavors webshop is soooo confusing!
It seems that there are 284 organic flavor extracts without diactetyl, but they seem to be based on alcohol.
(and $ 35 for shipping!)

On the NaturesFlavors shop I have compared some flavors:
ALMOND
Product code: NF-3715/ND
What is in it? Just alcohol?
Organic Almond Flavor Extract (Kosher, Vegan, Gluten Free) Excellent for baking, ice cream, coffee syrups and in beverage applications! (without diacetyl $ 11,95 for 2 oz)

And for the next diacetyl free almond flavor the minimum order is 1 gallon: (gallon?):
Product code: NF-5704/ND
Organic, Gluten-free, Vegan, Kosher, and Alcohol free:
Almond Flavor Concentrate Kosher, vegan, gluten-free, alcohol free,,bakery flavor, dairy flavor, ice cream flavor

FRENCH VANILLA
Product code: NF-7282/ND
Organic French Vanilla Flavor Extract (without diacetyl $ 11,95 for 2 oz)
Organic flavor Kosher, Vegan, Gluten-Free, beverages.

Twice as expensive: Product code: NF-8843
Organic French Vanilla Coffee and Tea Flavor without Diacetyl ($12,99 for 1 oz)
Feingold Approved, Gluten Free, Kosher, Non-Alergenic, Vegan

**********************************************
Naturesflavors is far too complicated. I love the simplicity of ordering from ecblend, and be able to try 5ml bottles first (and if you wish, you can get nicotine for free till 24mg)

**********************************************
To prevent a headache I'm not going to search further today.

... their non-PG flavors are based on plastic destroying triacetin which can't be healthy for our lungs....

It only has an impact on stressed plastics like polycarb. Of all the different types of plastics to use for tanks, polycarb would have been at the top of my no-frackin'-way list for a host of reasons.

There are a number of reasons that assuming that X does Y to Z means it is bad for A is illogical at best. Moisture and heat degrades steel so saunas must be bad for our skin. Methane makes PVC extremely brittle so too much farting will cause rear ends to shatter. Those statements seem completely silly, but they follow the same logic.

I know you are having difficulty finding flavoring that does not cause you an allergic reaction and that you can get shipped to your home, but I think making illogical conclusions about things is helping to make it even more difficult for you. I also realize we may not be the most helpful bunch here because the degree of your allergy is one of the most extreme, which makes you a rare case indeed, then add on top of that you are in an area that the majority here is not overly familiar with and that only adds to the rarity. Most PG allergy folks find they can operate with a small amount of PG. I've seen posts by these folks that range anywhere from 5-20% PG and they are still OK. (Our resident professor of chemistry and DIY mixer, Kurt, has problems with PG, but I think I remember he can tolerate up to 15%, but does better if it is in the 10% range. Something like that, if Kurt reads this, or somebody remembers better than me, please correct me.)

I think a VG only section of ECF would be a good thing. Make it easier for folks that have a low to no tolerance of PG to find and trade information. (Or even folks that just want to go VG for whatever reason.) You're in a difficult situation and I really wish I could do more to help. I would think others have been in the same situation before and found out something, but I don't know where that information would be on this vast forum. That's why I think a VG sub would be a good idea, to gather that information into one area so it is fairly easy to find and discuss. Maybe make it a child of the General E-Liquid sub?

Yes Hoosier, about triacetin, you could be right, but TFA says it does not mix very well with VG, so you have to keep shaking your bottles and clearomizers, I guess.
My degree of allergy is not one of the most extreme. Other vapers mentioned a.o. red itchy face, eyes swelling, headaches, muscle pain in arms and legs.
I know 2 of them quit vaping and are smoking again.

@FinallyQuit, I have checked your list (for which I thank you!)
If it is possible, I think it's wiser to buy directly from the manufacturers, not from resellers.
OnestopDIYshop - is a reseller of LorAnn, Nature's Flavors, etc.
Highdesertvapes - their non-PG flavors are TPA, but they sell more than TPA makes! :grr:
DIY flavor shack - does not ship internationally
Wizard Labs - again a reseller of TheFlavorApprentice, LorAnn, SM.
Vaperite - no DIY-flavors, only juices, but you can choose between PG or VG or a combination.
Ships internationally, except for Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
Madvapes - DIY-flavors based on alcohol: cranberry and walnut, the rest is out of stock.

No, I don't end up using 25% PG, cause I am highly allergic to PG.
I only use VG-based flavors, which are very hard to find, and mix them with pharmaceutical grade VG 0 mg nic.
I did not order them from FlavorApprentice, cause those (few) non-PG flavors are based on triacetin, which does not mix very well with VG and ruined 2 of my tanks.
All other companies make non-PG-flavors based on alcohol, but that's what I can make myself; now I'm steeping burnt coffee beans in coffee liquor and pharmaceutical grade VG.
The only webshop with food grade VG-based flavors that I found, is ecblend.com, where I ordered several times.

@CreepyLady, I have tried all kinds of flavors. Conclusion: absolutely don't like any fruit flavor nor tobacco.

I was told that this is VG Base
Espresso Flavoring by Hangsen

This is a very good Espresso

That could be true, Michael, and I thank you, but this is on their website:

INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS OUTSIDE OF THE USA: Currently, International Shipping is disabled for all countries outside of the USA until further notice.

My bad, I didn't notice you were in the Netherlands.

Are you heating, & steeping in glass? I wouldnt be microwaving plastic under any circumstances.. just my :2c: From the time you describe it sounds like you are not letting it steep enough. I steep in my ultrasonic for at least 12 - 45 min. cycles, and open up the caps to let it breathe in between. After that it is usually vapeable, but it still takes a few days after that for the flavors to meld with your base.

I would try using the ultrasonic more and use heated water, but not over 120 degrees as too hot will break down your nic.

Good Luck! :2cool:

I don't use any nicotine, don't use tobacco nor citrus flavors that have to steep for a long time, used the ultrasonic with warm water, and 120 degrees Celsius could indeed be a bit too warm.

But thanks anyway. :D

I don't think he meant Celsius, but Fahrenheit. In other words around 48.8 degrees Celsius.
