I'm not finding any recipe books on the flavor manufacturer's web sites. If I were trying to sell flavorings, one of the first things I would do is compile a bunch of recipes that used my flavorings and I would have it on my site for free download. DIYers would see an interesting recipe and place an order. This seems like business 101 to me but maybe I'm missing something here. Can anyone straighten me out here?

The big name companies I personally use to purchase my flavoring from do not make or sell pre-mixed juice, thus they do not have recipes to give. They specialize in selling flavoring and other various DIY materials. So they posses no first hand knowledge of what taste good when combined etc. And not to mention how taste is so subjective. Just my 2cents

The company I purchase my supplies from does not sell premixed juices either so I would not expect them to have recipies either but there are lots of other places online to get recipies if your wanting. But I wouldn't expect my company to have recipies because they don't sell premix. Only flavor concentrates. They leave that part up to the consumer. But I understand what your saying.. however since they don't make e juice themselves, I think it's highly unlikely that they will ever post recipies. But it would be nice if they did, wouldn't it.

here is a new cool looking recipe site. I think I have the only 3 recipes in it so far lol, like I said its new. no I didnt build this or whatever I can barly turn my computer on but I like the format of the site so I have been putting some in it. I think its beta stage right now and the dude is still working on other things for it but check it out.if everyone throws some it there we could build it up pretty fast. Personally I prefer this calculator for its ease of use and greater functionality than eJuice Me Up. It also imports other calculator programs' recipe files so you don't have to start fresh.

Word!!!

That's the one Imma using! Your are correct in the ease of use and functionality, lot of cool features!

Maybe it's a CYA thing. They're food flavorings after all.

Exactly. Up until fairly recently, most of the big manufacturers took a use-at-your-own-risk stance. Some of them seem to be coming around to the fact that we exist and the money is good. They're testing and reformulating but even the companies that make flavorings just for us rely on end-users and testers for recipes and feedback. They're here, facebook groups, etc.

I use recipes I find here for inspiration. I haven't been at DIY for very long, but I am having some pretty good luck mixing my own stuff, and using common sense along with the advice found here. I use eJuice Me Up as a calculator, and I save my recipes from it to a folder on my desktop. It even has a notes section on the recipe card to use if I am experimenting, or to note if I did anything to the juice after mixing it.
