Yeah thats the problem with mech mods. carrying extra batts is a chore and it isnt as consistent as box mod with electronic controllers.

I hope the price would drop to the $50 range for the internal electronics.

If you were to include the labour and buying of the batteries and alum. box etc.

It still aint cheap.

Yes, one of the reason why i haven venture into mech mods.

Prepare at least S$150 for everything and provided you have got soldering iron, dremel and such to start off with. I will give a price breakdown after i'm done. Currently starting to mount the cradles, connection, switches in..Indeed a challenge to mount it into a small box.

ho-lee-schitz. Make me one.

Not gonna attempt something so small with a 18650 again..

Have another Hammond enclosure thou..Might attempt another one in the future if i ever manage to lay my hands on another DNA chip. But this time round, probably gonna use lipo packs.

That is clean.

Yea, thanks..Charging up right now..Would be using it along with the Taifun..

Neat and sweet~

What is the total cost?

Thanks..

Will post up the total cost later tonight..Totally forgot about it last night when i make that post.

Sir, that is SIC AS T!TS Gj man, did you need a lot of specialized equipment to build it?

Not really but would be great if you have access to a bench drill..Would be more precise..And also soldering iron, flux paste, helping hand to ease the process..

I did the cutout using dremel in handheld mode..Not easy in this case..

Very nice. Would love to see the price breakdown when it's convenient for you. Ever thought of writing a tutorial? It looks really nice and clean, very professionally done!

Looks nice on the outside but once u open it up, messy as hell. It's pretty straight forward..Lots of tutorial over at the battery mod section..

The instruction by mamu on her Arlo mod thread..She has the tutorial uploaded in PDF format. Good to read and have a rough idea. Her mod is even more impressive.

I will post up the price breakdown tonight when i'm home but it wont be accurate as the DNA is off a co-op so its much cheaper than getting a single piece from evolv.

Damn! Now I REALLY have to try it for myself. Even if I buy a single DNA30 and ship it, it's still way cheaper than premade mods. And I'll have fun doing it! Mind sharing where you source your items from?

Wont be accurate as some items were put up together by my friend..
Ebay:
1 x Angel Eye BLUE ring Led 12mm 12V Metal Switch Momentary Push Button - USD$7.59
1 x Keystone 18650 Holder - USD$1.99

SLT:
2m 20AWG Wires - S$2.00
2m 24AWG - S$2.40

Mouser or Element14..Cant rem which one..
1 x Hammond 1590WABK - S$26.94($10 shipping)

The rest was done by my friend..Sony VTC4 2100mAh was from China.

You also need soldering iron, dremel for this diy..

Nice price breakdown, I hope I am more electrical inclined like you

Although i have some soldering experience from back in those days when i was schooling..It's not exactly that hard if you follow the instruction and have a plan before executing. There are flux and such to ease the soldering as well..

Did you have problems machining the Hammond enclosure with a dremel? Or did you use a bench drill for the enclosure?

Slightly yes. Have to becareful as the enclosure isnt clamp down.the circle is not perfectly round..But try to make it as round as possible. Wanted to go back to office and head to the machine shop and ask for help after drilling out the initial hole but decided to give it a shot last Sun and got it all nicely cut by the end of the day..
