It is. I was just hoping for an updated board that I can put in my WAEII and replace my dna40. All I want is to have the ability to do tc without ni200. I vape at 15 watts anyways. So until evolv does come out with a slimmer version I'll still use my dna40 with kanthal and enjoy it like I've always had. :vapor:

I'll preface by saying I've never tried it myself but at least in theory, you can use wire made of metal with a lower rtc than Ni if you compensate by adjusting the limiting temperature downward. Ok, so the display will be "wrong" but it will limit. What metal do you prefer to use?

IMO this board shows Evolv is well aware of where the dobters draw their dobts from. And where the competition has angled for advantages. And they decided to crush every dobt and cut off every angle.

People might think I'm exaggerating; I'm not. It's so far advanced of everything else in the field that it's staggering, even to a person who has been staggered by Evolv before.

And a few weeks later some other company will release something that's even better. That's how innovation works. But the most important question is, will it make my favourite juice taste better? I like Jungle Juice using the TOBH with a 28G, 0.8 ohm dual coil on it vaping at 25 watts, that's vaping heaven to me. No software is going to change that.

A good guess what's in those beta's....

Spec.Capacity: 2500mAh
Voltage: 3S1P / 3 Cell / 11.1V
Discharge: 5C Constant / 10C Burst
Weight: 147g (including wire, plug & case)
Dimensions: 95 x 30x 24mm
Balance Plug: JST-XH
Discharge Plug: JR & Futaba
Not a rwise choice of battery for a 200 watt mod. 5c? That's a 12.5 amp continuous
This would be a more likely choice
HOBBY ZONE - LiPo Batteries: 3-Cell (listed in descending mAh order) - LiPo 3S 11.1V 1600mAh 30C Elctrfly w/Ult Plug
Would explain why you fear li-pos, no experience with them. How many MVP's hand you heard about blowing up/catching on fire? That's li-po in action. There is even a video out of a guy really torturing his MVP, like shooting it with a bow and arrow... Not only did the battery not blow up, the mod still worked through it all.
As far as 18650 imr batteries being ssafer... They don't just harmlessly release a little gas when they go, they can often turn into projectiles, and heaven forbid your mod doesn't have adequate venting....or it could be torn apart adding shrapnel to the mix

MVP's are made in a factory with a metal enclosure by professionals, not the general public who will be building them at home and very likely be putting a 12V pack into a printed plastic box.

Finding a ready-made enclosure is gonna be a challenge and a Hammond gets old, so you can bet there's gonna be printed boxes all over the place.

It's not my fear of a lipo that bothers me, it's the fear of John Modder making a potential hazard and selling in the classifeds to an unsuspecting sucker that has no idea there's a potential bomb inside of it.

Who knows what he's gonna put in there? Maybe he'll see the price of high quality lipo packs and decide to install a cheap Chinese pack, one that's not so safe, and then list it.

Like I've said already, a lipo pack is only safe when the user knows that it's NOT a safe battery.

It's no different than low-output li ion 18650s. Battery safety is always important.

I was exicited when the DNA40 came out but was bummed over the bugs that had to be worked out. I like the idea of TC but being you could only use ni200 was a bit of a turn off.

After doing a lot of reading...it does sound like DNA200 is going cover a lot of gaps in the device range from wattage junkies to flavor chasers. The ability for different types of TC wire and 200watts pretty much covers everything you could want/need.

I guess the only real question I have is what type of battery life are the beta testers getting? I am not so worried about what the battery is or isnt. Battery safety is a must....but its the end user responsibilty to use the correct battery and whatnots. It would be nice if you could change out batteries but that will be up to the mod maker to give that feature.

That's true...J. Modder could in fact use 3 Chinese laptop li-ions instead and the risk would be the same. But it's more likely that a modder would use the highest output and highest quality hybrid IMR available since that's what's needed to hit 200W. And in that case, the cells are considered as a safe battery, in series or not.

Today's hybrids are very safe...as I showed in an earlier video post.

Um, it's not exactly a secret. Brandon has talked about it in interviews.
I think thats a straight lie. Everyone keeps referring to the DNA40 interview when they said they were working on a new mod, yet they say there not going to build a high wattage device. If this was the mod they were working on, why would they insist on not building high wattage devices and talk them down. This is a responsive to the market, the chips they were talking could have been anything, but likely NOT this mod as they advocated against high wattage devices. The device they likely were talking about is this DNA70 we keep hearing about.

Fear of subohming, then fear of nickel, then fear of titanium, now fear of LiPo ... Folks will get over it.

Exactly.....Dont get me wrong its ok to have doubts or concearn about things but lets not create a problem that doesnt exist before board hits market.

Here's a size comparison between a Hana and the new DNA 200 test mod
I'm pretty sure there is a Lipo in the test mod but it's incredibly small :)

I dont understand how your suppose to fit 3 18650's in that box or an 11v lipo. Seems like these beta's are underpowered..

According to the picture owner, there's as much mah's in that beta as there is the in large Hana next to it...and it is a 3S lipo.

That silver-colored box is the beta that was custom-made by Evolv.

I'm tying to get info now to see if Evolv is gonna sell the empty enclosure as an addition to the board?

No word back as of yet tho....
