Evolv won't say this but I will. This board is built to slap faces off. With it Evolv leaves no doubt they are the best, baddest vaping boardmakers on the planet, and that everything else is and always has been a pale imitation. It shows that they, as the originators, have the most complete understanding and best implementation of temperature protection. And it shows that the quality of their product is second to none.

It takes every spec people value, and just about every feature people want in a board, and does it several orders of magnitude better than anything else out there. This includes the power -- not all watts are the same. It even uses Joules correctly.

Then it adds a ton more stuff no one has ever seen yet. TheBloke -- you're going to pee yourself.

Yes, the software side looks absolutely fabulous - a tinkerer's dream. Full kudos to Evolv, they have indeed moved things up a level.

But the first part of your statement is not merely wrong; it's a disgraceful disservice to the company you claim to adore so much. They won't say that because it's not true. I don't know Evolv personally but I do know innumerable designers, developers, inventors, and almost none of them would dream of spouting the sort of clap trap you do. A creator will be proud of his or her work, will celebrate it, but they will also intimately understand the difficulties of the work, the challenges faced, the compromises necessary. They are usually the first to admire the progress and achievements of others, because they know what is required to achieve it. And they can actually understand it in the first place, and know when it works; a facility you lack in your wilful, self-inflicted blindness.

A person who cares about technology, who appreciates it properly, celebrates all innovation and all achievement. They know full well that technological progress is a game of stepping stones and of "standing on the shoulders of giants". Evolv pioneered TC, and did it well. Others then came along and did it better, in particular Dicodes. Evolv have now moved it forward again, and so it will continue. Innokin are pioneering a whole different branch of the technology, with in-tank sensors.

Someone who cares about technology celebrates all of these things. They use everything and experiment with all, take the best they can from everything. You do not care about technology, not even a little bit.

For whatever reason you care about one company. And not even in a healthy way; the more of your posts I see, the more I realise it's not so much that you love Evolv, so much as you hate everything else. There's nothing to be celebrated in hate, nothing to feel good about trying to highlight the bad in everything. That is not how technology, and society, progresses, and more importantly it's very unlikely to be how your 'idols' operate themselves.

I love technology and I am thrilled to see what Evolv seem to have achieved. All progress is to be celebrated and this looks like great progress for tinkerers and analysts like myself. It remains to see whether it will be a huge benefit to the general public who won't ever turn on the software, and just want reliable Ni200 and perhaps Ti and SS temp control, which they can now get from many devices. But the more devices that come out supporting new TC wires, the better, so that is absolutely to be celebrated.

The future of vaping technology is bright, and Evolv are continuing to do their part to make it brighter. It's just sad that there are people like you who see fit to try and turn that into darkness wherever and whenever you can. Thankfully you are absolutely in the minority.

(And same goes to anyone in this thread trying hard to look for any possible flaw or weakness in this chip. Shame on you, too.)

Take Zen for an example, he supports the clones of his zna and provides a service to swap dna boards. He is all for technology that helps people get off the cigs and that's what this forum is all about.

can these new chips be used with a good 18650? I don't care about the 200 watts... 70 is good for me :) I just want a new VF with this chip for it's other features like "upgradable" firmware. almost pulled the trigger on the NEW vapor flask but since finding out about this NEW board I think i'll hold off a bit ;)

Battery safety is all ready a problem Now we want to carry one of these around?

If you carry a cell phone, you already carry one of those around. I am not aware of any cell phone today that doesn't use a LiPo battery.

EDIT: Just realized that Samsung still uses Li-Ion. That explains why our Samsung phones barely last a day on a charge.

DNA200 requires 3 cells.... and has balancing charger on-board.... Not mandatory to use LiPo's ...see post #30

My iPhone has a lithium-ion battery
I all ready made up my mind and will use 3 18650's no LiPo for me :)

I would guess Evolv cringes each time the fanboys post. I am interested in the technology but the hatred of others that comes off in the fanboy posts puts an aura of hatred around Evolv that is hard to shake.

If this mod is full of useless nonsense, such as 200W and numerous settings for preheat, but it's not possible to adjust the TCR, then I can't think of anything sillier.

Edit: just saw this thing needs 3 cells. Call me when they make something reasonable.
I totally agree. The features are nice but the battery requirement and wattage setting is a little crazy. I can totally understand that there's a market for cloud chasers and this is a great board for exactly that. I'm hoping that the final product is more versatile for 1, 2, and 3 batteries for the people who do want a slim device. I'm also hoping for a dna40 sized board so that I can put this into all of my favorite dna devices that I've already placed a dna 40. The full power and features do intrigue me and I highly believe that evolve will come out with other versions for different vaping styles. Hopefully they do realize that there's a market for slim mods that only use 1 18650 and people who want to replace their dna 40 with the newer version but keep the same mod that they love.

To all the people complaining about board size: Do you realize just how hard it was for Evolv to fit the DNA 40 into a board the same size as the DNA 30? It was very difficult, but doable. Now you want a board with even more components to fit into that size, too? Not gonna happen. If you want innovation, you'll have to deal with a slightly larger board. We are at the limit of what a DNA 40 size board can do.

To all the people complaining about everything else: Just don't buy it, then!

John from Evolv himself said that he is impressed with the design of the sx350j chip. Like any engineer he respects and admires a well thought out design no matter who designed it, and like any engineer he has respect for other engineers. I don't think he would like you talking about Evolv the way you do. It shows you lack any and all understanding of how an engineers mind works.

I don't exactly agree with the "slap faces off" post, but you seem to be forgetting that Evolv is a lot more than one engineer. It's an entire company. It only makes sense for any company to want to be the best.

You know this how? Did you help design the dna 40? Dang man, props to you for getting all of that to fit the board.

Im going to pretend to be a computer engineer for a minute too. All I want is the same wattage (same inductor size.) I also want most of the other features (mainly the ability to use other wires for tc.) This might take a different micro processor and different coding. Perhaps a usb mounted on a ribbon cable for updates. What I'm asking isn't much and shouldn't take more room or maybe just slightly a little bit more room. For updates, I'll just simply take the board out of the mod and plug in the usb. But hey, I'm not an engineer so I don't know (I'm an engineer but not in this type of work.)

IMO this board shows Evolv is well aware of where the dobters draw their dobts from. And where the competition has angled for advantages. And they decided to crush every dobt and cut off every angle.

People might think I'm exaggerating; I'm not. It's so far advanced of everything else in the field that it's staggering, even to a person who has been staggered by Evolv before.
