Hi dose anyone know how short I can make the lipo battery wires before the heat from the soldering will damage the battery?

Just a thought, why not flip the battery over so it's wires are coming from the corner of the box?

Err... With the appropriate iron, there should be no problem... Someone soldered the wires to the lipo tabs in the first place... You can't get any closer than that Right?

They are soldered, not welded btw in case someone is wondering...

looks like the only way but will have to keep the top part to put a magnet in.

Thanks David

I had this same issue with the box I used, with a dremel and high speed cutter I removed the lower portion that was conflicting with the battery and left the threaded section on the "top" I installed the battery and flipped the cover so I could see the inside of the box and screwed just the one screw and lid down. The screw didn't touch the battery so all worked perfectly. If yours did you could shave down the screw some? Or if your using magnets all around that would work too

Just put in my order for the Opus DNA200 from Delaware Vapors. Called them and they said that they got in about 20 and have 10 left. It will ship today according to them. From the pictures and the videos I've seen it looks like a well made mode and I'm excited to get this. I'm in NJ so it shouldn't take long from Delaware.

I'm not a fan of Delaware Vapors. They're charging $11 more than msrp.

If they only got 20 units I'm guessing they didn't get much of a discount themselves.
I understand that they need to make a buck but charging more than msrp is slimy, IMO. They need to apply for a wholesale account and thus get wholesale pricing which should be enough margin to sell at msrp. Opus direct and HoV are selling at msrp, there's no reason DV can't do the same. And because of that $11 markup, I wouldn't buy anything else from them.

Well went hunting for flux again.

No luck. they only sell flux for like copper and strong metals. nothing intended to be used for small electronics/PCBs.

got some shrink wrap so I can properly seal off all mah soldering points.

Thinking about getting something to spray the inside of the box so that nothing can short out on the enclosure. Is any old spray paint good enough for insulating or do you need a specific type of paint?
