Just made an account here because I got a VT200 about an hour ago and haven't seen much about it on here, thought I might as well toss my thoughts out there

Was v curious about why so few people seemed to be going with it, looking at all the options it seemed like an easy winner to me with the 160 dollar price tag from multiple vendors, better than 900mah battery and great looking enclosure

You can get a HP Stream 7 for $80. You will need a USB 2 micro-B On-The-Go cable as well to connect the dna 200 as a USB device. Works great. Duct tape the two together, run Device Monitor and you've got a pretty fancy device. :p
How do you get the tablet to

How did you get the tablet to recognize the mod? I am not able to get it to see it

A question about profiles...

I have the default VS profiles + one I added. It seems to store resistance, temp, wattage and wire type. If I setup a generic profile for a type of wire and don't want to set a resistance; do I have to do anything special? Or would it just be as simple as setting a temporary resistance and settings and then changing them after locking the resistance?

Just don't check the ohms lock thing when you setup the profile, and it will be fine. I don't use ohms lock at all in my profiles so I can just have one for say SS430 wire, then I can use multiple different atties with different SS430 coils, and it works fine for each.

^^^^^ This. I tried the route of building a profile for every in-use atty but it's way more trouble than it's worth. However, I have come across one instance where you may need to lock the resistance, depending on your mod. If you're using a mod that allows you to swap batteries, whether it be lipo or 18650s, and the coil is warm and you swap batteries, when it comes back on, it will automatically pick up the current resistance, not what it was originally set to. At that point, you either don't vape while it cools, use another tank, or if you're at a PC with EScribe and you remember what the resistance was, you can set it manually as a band-aid fix. As the majority of mods won't have the batteries swapped this much, it probably isn't a big deal. I'd think the 18650 Boxer crowd is the most susceptible at this point. But, if you lock the mod via the Fire button, then hold down the Fire and Up buttons, lock the resistance, swap batteries and turn it back on and take a vape, then you can unlock the resistance and everything is fine.

i do it this exact same way, never setup for atty since i always change coils in my atties and never the same. i set up profiles for wire and its worked absolutely perfect. i have profiles for TI curve, Ti tcr, Ti dry burn, SS430 curve, SS430 tcr, Nife52 curve, NiFe52 tcr, Ni200 (never used anymore).

I am retiring my DIY DNA 200 mod. I just can't get a good TC vape off it. I guess I didn't solder it right but it just doesn't feel right.

Maybe I will end up buying the SMY dna 200 or some other china mod since they are actually putting decent lipos in their boxes.
What doesn't feel right about it? Im just curious.

Did you try calibrating the mod resistance after you built it?

How much do you want for the chip? :)
