Someone ought to cut out all the "bloopers" from various reviews and put them all together as one and post it.
He had a pre-release version of Escribe, it will probably be on the Evolv forum soon.PB mentioned that you can change the scrolling speed for Wattage. It looks like his Opus scrolls more slowly then my VS. Is this possible?
Yes, 1.0.34 is downloadable now in the forum. Did not show up yet in auto download in Escribe software. I'm waiting on my just ordered Volcano LavaBox DNA200. So I'm just playing with the software on my old Mac, running Snow Leopard, and Windows XP, in Parallels. I didn't realize the only DNA 200 preset was for Nickle wire.
So my question regarding saving CSV files from Steam Engine site, is do you have to create a different wire profile for the various size AWG wire and wraps etc. For example I create a Titanium wire wizard file, and select gauge, amount of coils etc., but do I need to create a different one if I change gauge and amount of coils not wire type? My IPV D2, simply has two GENERIC settings, one for Nickle and one for Titanium, not for specific builds.
And what about using different brands of Titanium wire, most do not have CSV files for their wire, so in steam engine I simply select "Titanium G1". Right now I'm using Unkaman brand Titanium wire and will look around for a generic CSV file if I can find one. A bit confused about creating custom wire profiles!
^^^^ @Holman GT "pie in the sky"? Get on board; the ride is safe. [emoji5]

Mactavish,
First don't let the concept of setting up for different wire confuse you.
1. Steam Engine will create the CSV files for you for any wire listed in his table.
2. Just upload the CSV file you create in Steam Engine to the profile tab you select.
3. Wire size or length doesn't matter the TCR is the same regardless of those parameters. They are on there but used for different answers that S.E. gives you.
4. You can also just add the TCR value into eScribe and it will calculate a three point curve for you no CSV file required.
5. I use 0.0035 or 0.0034 for Titanium so for that one I just use the TCR value. S.E. uses 0.00366 and that produces too much heat for my liking.
6. I don't know about all this different CSV files for different brands of wire Ti Grade 1 should be the same regardless of of whom you buy it from. (this comment will draw flack but it is the truth). If it is not than vendor is not telling the truth about their wire "Grade".
7. I am not sure what you mean by generating a custom wire profile. If you use Steam Engine it will do all the legwork for you or if you know the TCR value of the wire you want to use you can plug it into eScribe and just use the curve it generates.
8. Steam Engine calls the TCR the TFR (I believe) but they are both the same thing with different names.
Feel free to PM me if you want. Also (again a flack request) remember that Evolv chose Ni because it has very good temperature control qualities i.e. base resistance and TCR. The only other metal I would use is Titanium i.e. better base resistance but not as good a TCR value (lower TCR). The rest of the wire that people use is just pie in the sky and part of the endless search for Utopia. (God am I going to catch He!! for that statement).![]()
Was the board in a prebuilt mod or in a mod u built yourself? Just curiousso angry. my board bit it after 6 days. I am sure it is gone. luckily there is no shortage now. I mean this happens(to me) but do not let it deter you. it is a fine board. most technologically advanced that actually works right now. 350j gives me some more throat hit but either are the top two boards now imo.
I just watched part of the online DNA200 tutorial. In video mode that is narrated.
The part about adding TCR curves says that just using a TCR number, like for Titanium 0.0035, one would get a less accurate curve, a very linear line, I did this and see just a graph with a single divider line. The SteamEngine downloaded curve is better but as has been noted is based on a TCR of 0.0036. Guess I'll try both as well as the available Sweet Spot curve for 0.40 wire, even though I'm using Unkaman titanium wire.
So is entering a single TCR number manually not as good as a true curve?
Also depends on how much of the overall temp range you use. I generally stay between 450 to 500 F. I usually change temps by 10 and often 20 degrees F for warmer/cooler preference as I feel like at the moment. A small non-linearity in the actual TCR curve of the wire within my vape temp range is something I would never notice.
