Wow, as I read through this I feel like some people just can't be made happy.

First of all, with regard to the 200 watt issue. So you may not ever use 200 watts, I know I probably won't. However, it does provide you with a greater amount of flexibility than a 40 watt device. I sometimes like to drip between 60-80 and when I do I have to switch from my Hana to my sigelei. If you will only use the lower end of the wattage spectrum, no worries!

Secondly, the LiPo issue. All of us, literally all of us, carry a LiPo with us every day in our cell phones. We are talking millions of people. They are probably the safest battery that you could carry with you. It cracks me up when people claim 18650s are safer because "they only vent". I've seen plenty of 18650s explode. Plus, with the way we vape now we are at the bleeding edge of what a 18650 is capable of handling. They were never designed for our application and any time you take a technology to the edge of its abilities it inherently becomes more dangerous. 18650s are a technology that is hampering our movement forward like a boat anchor.

Finally, several people have written about how "huge" the test mule for this board looks. Really?! The picture of the mod in the hand provides some perspective and it looks no taller or thicker than my Hana V4d. Plus, it is a test mule. No doubt device manufacturers will find better way to package the board.

I for one am excited about the DNA200. Everything negative that has been said so far sounds like nit-picking. The fact of the matter is that we now have more options, more competition and this will result in even more vaping progress. We all win!
You've never mentioned any of my concerns. There is only one type of mod that I like. I love tube mods, wizards to be exact. I want a board that will fit in this mod and provide all of the features to use different types of wire and ect. If there's no release for a new board that can be retrofitted into our current favorite mods, I'm simply going to pass and move on. I could only hope that evolve would grant my wish but I doubt it.

Yeah, and cell phones like to go up in flames.

It cracks me up when people talk about exploding 18650s like anyone would be using Li-Ion cells in a 200w device, if they are they deserve an explosion.

A good guess what's in those beta's....

51XjmNfzW1L.jpg

Spec.Capacity: 2500mAh
Voltage: 3S1P / 3 Cell / 11.1V
Discharge: 5C Constant / 10C Burst
Weight: 147g (including wire, plug & case)
Dimensions: 95 x 30x 24mm
Balance Plug: JST-XH
Discharge Plug: JR & Futaba
lol. That's a pretty terrible guess.

Safest battery?

Cell phone batteries are 3.7V, not 11.1V

And today's hybrid IMR's are definitely safe...

I especially like how he points out in the note..."first charged to 4.5v, then punctured with a screwdriver, then crushed in a vise, then smashed with a hammer. Nothing caused it to have any flame or dangerous venting event."

But puncture a 3S lipo....and you're either gonna be calling the fire department or an ambulance.

Point out one event where someone destroyed their battery like this unintentionally while it's in the mod or on the charger.

If you build this mod using let's say a plastic printed enclosure and you put a 3S lipo in there, the chances of a disaster occuring are 1000 times greater than using 3 hybrid IMR's in series.

A lipo pack is only safe when the user knows that it's NOT a safe battery.

thanks for the update, I noticed the A where the volts would normally be at is this going to be a user set amp draw or just a display for what amps the chip is drawing from the batteries?

Many user screen readouts can be selected... there are three sections to the screen and the user can decide what they want to see.

Just listing a few of the many features from the software plate (no time to list them all or explain them):

Get information about your device
Restore Defaults
Atomizer Analyzer
Select coil material
Set power limits
Set Preheat limits
Select Preheat "punch"

Battery type
Capacity
Cell soft cut off

Mod resistance
Ohm lock range
Preheat time limits

Case analyzer

Hopefully people will find a device like this that fills all of their needs............

Cannot believe the amount of people that have only negative things to say at this point, it's a beta folks.

Thankfully we have a few testers here that are willing to give us some info on what they have and how it's functioning and possible features on the final product.

Amazing
