Hi this is likely a stupid question and I've Google but couldn't find the answer. What are the benifit of the dna chip? Exactly what does it do tof make it better? I recently purchased the older hanna mod 20. Because it can go higer in wattage than my current mod. I couldn't afford the 30. Anyway I was wondering about the dna chip and what makes it a better vape? If it makes a better. It has not arrived yet so I havent got to experience it yet. Sorry for the stupid question, just wondering.?

No such thing as a stupid question IMO. The DNA chip permits you to get sub ohm vaping without the dangers associated with sub ohm builds. You can get a great Sub ohm type vape from 1.0 to 3.0 ohm builds. Being able to only set the wattage on the unit means as long as the coil build for the wattage selected are agreeing with one another, the unit will set the optimal voltage for you for that setting and coil. Having things rite also means you can adjust the wattage for a warmer or cooler vape. I have the Cana Modz Hana clone DNA30 one that actually works lol and its making bigger clouds at 1.0 ohm then my .19 build on an authentic panzer. Its been a great mod so far I am just about done wicking a 2.0 ohm build to run on it.

The difference between DNA20 and DNA30 is that the DNA20 is a 20 watt chipset and the DNA30 is a 30 watt chipset.

And I'm going to go on a bit of a tangent here, but these are not chips, they are boards. The actual chip that powers them is an lpc1313fhn33 chip that is produced by NPX Semiconductor, and the OLED display and USB charging port are separate boards attached to the DNA30 board. Everyone calls it a chip, but it's not. It's a card, board, or chipset, but it's not a chip.

Pedantic, I know.

Thanks friends! So is it possible to upgrade my DNA 20 to 30 myself??

If you're comfortable with a soldering iron and voiding the warranty of your current DNA20 MOD, then yes, but it's a hardware switch, not a simple software upgrade. You'll need to remove the current DNA20 board, solder all the wires in the right places to the board and to the various components in the MOD (battery, switch, 510 connector) and you can have a DNA30. But I get the feeling this isn't what you meant.

For simple USB upgrades you need a SX350 MOD (the first update was from 30W-35W, an imminent update will add the ability for modders to install buttons instead of using the tilt function, another update due this month will bring it to 40W, and eventually to 50W down the road a bit).
