Hey all...I've been doing my research looking for a DNA30 device and I'm having a heck of a time finding one that fits my needs. Here's what I want:

  • DNA30 chipset
  • Metal construction
  • Easily removable 18650 battery
  • One that I can actually buy

Doesn't seem that hard (except for the actually buy part maybe). The Hana v3 looks great, but it's got screws to remove the battery...yuck. The vaporshark and most others I've seen have a permanent LiPo battery, not my style. The ZNA looks perfect but good luck getting one.

Any suggestions?

You can charge the Hana via USB though

True, but that pretty much misses the whole point of a removable battery IMO. I've had devices with captive batteries before, and they just don't mesh well with my routine. Having to be around a charger to keep my vape going just doesn't cut it for me.

The third and forth are the difficult ones.

DNA chips themselves have limited availability. Furthermore, they don't have reverse battery protection and will fry if you reverse the battery. That's why many DNA devices don't have user-serviceable batteries.

What he said. The mod builder has two choices. Build a mod that has physical reverse battery protection....(This pretty much limits you to button tops.) to prevent users from accidentally frying the board and then putting you on the hook for an RMA...OR.... Put in semi permanent batteries to prevent the user from messing it up and using USB charging circuit.

Evolv will tell you that their design requires them to not have reverse battery protection otherwise they can't properly "poll the battery".

This is an odd statement since Sigelei's SX-200 20 Watt chipset doesn't seem to have this problem. Try the Sigelei 20 watt. The reviews from pbusardo seem to equate it favorably with the DNA 20.

Acutally he's pretty impressed with the entire package.

Pay $83.77 at Fasttech and wait....$83.77 Authentic Sigelei-20W Variable Watt Mod - 7.0W-20W / 1*18650 at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Pay $119.95 and get it sooner: Sigelei 20Watt

Pbusardo review: Taste Your Juice | THE SIGELEI-20W (SX200) – A VIABLE DNA-20 ALTERNATIVE

The other possibility is the MASSIVE 7/22 a 22 watt 26650 mod using the SX220 chipset. I don't see anywhere they are being sold currently however.

This^^

Get a Sigelei 20W from Slow Tech and call it a day. It vapes awesome, and the tests show the SX200 chip to be every bit as capable as the DNA20. It's a smooth DC signal that is accurate.

It does seem like a good option. It's so LONG though...
Thats what she said :lol::lol:

The Seven22 is the same length as a Vamo, just wider and heavier.
Zna is a great device, battery life sucks with the stock tube when you get into higher wattage though.
