I have yet to see a TC-enabled mod that works anything like Evolv's approach. Just looking at the Oscope captures on pbusardo's videos, one can see they are all quite different in how they approach temperature control.

No, that shows they are different in how they approach power regulation. Same as it has always been.

I can say joyetech wouldn't have released the eVic VT if they thought there was the slightest chance they'd be taken to court. They're still the biggest single player in the vaping world, if you count eLeaf and iSmoka. That's a lot of assets to go after, including retail stores in Europe (under the Ovale brand).

Joyetech also has a US incorporated entity in Joyetech USA. This puts them smack in the middle of our IP mess that's been allowed to evolve. They are beholden to American IP law as opposed to other Chinese companies that have no no "legal presence" in the states. I can't believe Joyetech would open themselves up to litigation.

Foreign manufacturers are also beholden to American IP law, it's just enforced through a different judicial forum called the Int'l Trade Commission.

I was under the impression that the ITC only policed those who signed the Int'l IP treaty, which China did not. Guess I'll have to do some homework.

for the Dna40 30W 440F, vapes ok everything normal, hits 420F easily and vape is not hot. switch to SX, at 35J 420F, and the vape is much more intense.. vapour is noticeably hotter as well, yet the temp reading hardly goes beyond 400F.. I need to turn up the temp for the Dna40 to 460F b4 it catches up with the SX in terms of heat and vapour intensity..
I dun have a heat gun, so I m not sure which is the more accurate of the two.

not to start any debate of sorts, just thought I post my little kitchen top test..

cheers

The SX350J update of today is being discussed and it is being said it has issues..... just a heads up..... I don't have one but thought the community (and my buddy who has J board) needs to be aware.... I also let Yihi know....

You're really enjoying this, aren't you? :D

Retird does enjoy this. This is typical behavior from him. He keeps a careful log of every complaint he can find and saves it for a big reveal later that he can post to prove a mod should not be trusted and has far more problems than any product should have. Of course, he doesn't do this with Evolv products. But that's probably because the amount of posted problems would exceed the maximum post size so it can't really be done. But that does speak to a lack of consistency on his part.

But that's just the way Retird is, so since he gets enjoyment from this just let him have his fun in his twilight years.

There is apparently an issue with the download (update) and in fairness to those who have a J board or mini they should have the information.... and Yihi also needs to be aware of it.... and no I'm not enjoying this.... it just shows that new technology can and will have issues... we just need to address them as a community....

I informed Yihi also and asked them to check it out and if there is an issue I asked them to consider pulling the update... is that fair or am I out to lunch? Would you rather they not pull a bad update?

To save the reader any unnecessary drudging through other threads here is the problem and solution to firmware ver 2.1 "at least until firmware patch is released."

Problem:
Check Battery error after inserting a new battery when in Eco mode
Solution: Do not remove / replace battery when in Eco mode, Switch to any other mode prior to battery removal.

As much as your intentions might be honest and heartfelt, do you realize how bad it looks coming from you?

It's like a Volkswagen salesman calling Mercedes HQ about a issue in their new c class.

It's feels... Kinky! [emoji14]

EDIT: hadn't you've been labeled as a Evolv rep, I would find your dedication admirable but this doesn't look good at all. Sorry.

I'd say your out to lunch. To request a update with major functional changes to be pulled due to a nuisance bug is absurd. On the other hand if there were a safety issue or critical problems then of course it should be pulled. I think I've used the words "over exaggeration" before and yes they apply again here.

All I can say is that it is heartfelt and genuine on my part... how others see it is how they see it.... I know how it was given and hopefully Yihi will respond back to me that they took down the update until they fix it...

Good to see Vlad1 posted a temporary solution....
