The 2.5 ohm E2's are better for eGo and other 3v mods. The 3ohm is better for high voltage like 5v and 6v.
The lower the ohm the hotter and the more vapor you generally get.
I think you should choose your ohm level based on your mod voltage.
I'm happy with 3 ohm xl r4's on 3.7 volts FWIW
Pull all the rings out,quick everclear rinse,dry burn
Drip fill,put just the middle ring in flat side down and use a drip tip.
No leaks,easy fill,works for me.

Bruce I have been using the 3ohms XL's you sent me with my eGo and they are fine...and probably a safer bet that the 2.5 ohm cartos...they seem to have less of a tendency to build up burn crud at the coil...
I am loving mine but may decide to go back to regular size on 3ohm as I am suspicious of the wicks in the XL not reaching all the way to the bottom of the longer carto tube...
