I was speaking to a gal at work last week and she was telling me that she received this e-cig for only the price of shipping (1.99) and I was excited about it.. cause I have been researching e-cigs for about 3 weeks now, I finally made my decision of which I was going... I had not joined this forum over the weekend I might of fallen into this scam... Thank you so much for helping us newbies.... I respect the veterans opinions in the e-forum....without all the posts I have read I would not been able to clearly educate myself... oh and by the help of my veteran vaping aunt... Thank you all again
This is so true ... I am very VERY new to the E-Cig world, and was just going through all of the sites today to try and figure out what exactly I wanted to start with. Sure enough .. saw the "free" offers! I am smart enough to do a little reading first, looked a little further, and noticed how my card info would be used to auto-ship supplies every single month - and at prices that were way more than the other sites I had previously been looking through. 89.95 for this, 49.95 for that ... PLUS 9.95 shipping for my free product!
I am so glad I stumbled upon this forum --- I think it is going to make my starting of this adventure a whole lot easier!

My son got suckered into one of these "free" scams but it was the first e-cig I had ever heard of or seen. It seemed pretty effective in getting him off of the tobacco habit so I was tempted to get my "free" one too. Luckily I did a little research first and oh my!! It's a whole new world out there!
Ok... I'm guilty. Got suckered by a trial offer that ended up costing me over $80 for a system from China, and was auto-enrolled in an auto-delivery service for the cartridges, at $30 for 5... Sheesh! Since I have realized how much of a gouge I took, I have since purchased a new system that was on sale for $29.95, and has a lot more options. Wish I would have known about this forum first... I really wanted to quit smoking cigs, but love the "ritual" aspect. Now I can keep my rituals! LOL!
Anyway, my real question is, how safe are these ultra-generic carts? Is the vape from them something I should worry about? Should I just throw them out? They are all tobacco flavored, and have two different nic levels, 11mg and 6mg (Not as much as I want at all...)

I am a new member, as of today, and came here specifically to see if I could find a great "trial offer". Thank you so much for posting this info--I would have fallen prey to it if you had not. Now I know I need more research, but also know where to find it all in one place, HERE!!!
My brother almost got suckered in. He had ordered one that his credit union advertised so he thought he was doing a good thing, trying for 2 weeks then send back....so glad he told me after he did it so he was able to cancel before they shipped >.> Can't blame him for not knowing, but now he does lol. For trial, I gave him my old 510 unit which helped me quit analogs and transition me into the more beefy battery types. He barely uses it *sighs* but its there for when he decides he's ready
I did not fall prey, but the commercials DID prompt me to research e cigs.
I found ECF and researched here for 2 weeks before ordering my 510.

+1 on this thread. "Free Trial" is one of th oldest tricks in the book. And since much is unkown about ecigs it's so easy to sucker people in.
While not "free trial" related, those mall kiosks use the same characteristic to sucker people in to $120 dse901s!
I always EMPHASIZE to people to RESEARCH anything, and always highly recommend FORUMS! I dunno where I'd be without forums on any topics (ecigs, my motorcycle, my car, etc.). Saved me time, money, effort and brings a good sense of community to people who otherwise would never engage eachother!
Does anytone else noticed the huge problem with TV "free trials" as well? It seems every company selling something on tv gets it just to get your card # and do unauhtorized charges. Seems like such a huge problem and I've yet to see any action?

Since I posted the above, I've managed to order my starter kit. I decided that I wanted a model with a cartomiser, so I went with vap4life, which seems to be a good supplier here. I got the shorty model what was on mega-sale, and of course some blanks and ejuice, and a few extra carts. I think I'll be going the juice route but wanted to see which I prefer smoking, too. I know the carts can get pricy, but compared to smoking its all good anyway. I'm really glad I found this site, and was able to do more research than I thought was out there. Now I'm on pins and needles waiting for it to show up, and I only ordered it last night, LOL!!!
I think you'll be happy with your choice. That's the same choice I made and got mine last Friday. Their shipping is extremely fast and they seem to run a lot of sales. I've been using the carts and they're soooo easy!! Now I'm ready to stretch my wings a bit and have ordered some juice from other vendors and am waiting for it to get here. Many of the suppliers have their own forums on here and V4L has one too... just in case you wanted to look at it.

I should have read the fine print first, because they really try to sock it to you! And it took two weeks to get it returned and credited back to my credit card (minus a restocking fee). It only took a letter from my lawyer and being notified by the credit card company to make it happen. The one thing I did right was to make copies of each other the order pages when I ordered it, or wouldn't have had a leg to stand on.
