They are not free.. Once you read the fine print and the lies (like a cart=1 pack of ciggies), and also being automatically placed on their auto refill list, you end up spending tons of money for something they claim to be free...
I agree....

Just out of curiosity, if they are scamming you, couldn't you use one of those visa/mastercard gift cards when you sign up for a free trial? Just put in like $10 to cover shipping and the throw the card out once you receive your order.
You get the free trial kit and they can't charge the card by automatically putting you on their refill list.
I would think you could do that, but some who fell for the trials never think of that.. The main problem is that either they call for the order and are not told everything, or if they order online, or even at a mall kiosk, they don't read the fine print.. Plus the free trial e-ciggies are garbage and after dealing with them, many do not bother to try a decent one and just give up..
Very true. Most customers are unaware of the better brands out there. I don't know, I was thinking of going to Vons/safeway and picking up a gift card just to see if it would work out. Worst case scenario is that they don't accept those types of credit cards. Although I don't think there is a way for them to actually tell the difference. Best case is I get a brand new starter kit for free to keep in my car as a spare if I ever loose my Joye Ego. Then again I don't really need a spare cause I have a load of spare 510 batteries from when I first got into vaping a year ago. Working on building my Ego collection of batteries as well.
Come to think of it, I might give it a go tomorrow. We'll see if I remember. Haha
Hahaha... Well I could give you the proverbial "Do what you think is right" ;-)
I started with a 510, a month later bought a Janty Stick, and then I got as a gift a 401 for buying a large order of juice during Christmas time.. Now I'm obsessed with my 401, especially with the "smart" pcc...
Still use my Stick through the day (on and off), but the auto is wonderful.. I have to test my blood sugars all the time along with being online with the typing, my fingers get sore, so the auto is ideal.. Plus the 401 battery lasts hour upon hour, and I'm a constant vapor-er...
With the taste and the hassle of the atty, I doubt I'll ever go back to a 510..
I couldn't agree more with the hassle of cleaning and maintaining attys. That's actually the reason why I switched over to cartos. Made vaping so much for the better. Yeah, I remember when I first thought about quitting smoking. I used the gum at first and it did work until I got admitted to the hospital after a car accident. Right when I got released, unfortunately I picked up the habit right back up.
Six months down the road I wanted to break the habit and finally looked into vaping. I did my research for about a good month before making my first purchase. I decided to get a 510 from a local guy through craigslist. At that time, most the the online sites looked shady to me and the Blue Foam mod and PTB mod just got invented. No cartos yet if you remember. Anyways, I liked my 510 but the short battery was really killing it for me, even with a PPC. Fast forward a few months down the road when Joye released the Ego I jumped all over it and never looked back. I know there were other mods and models which extended the battery life but I wasn't interested in them as the 510 was doing just fine minus the battery issues.
I actually just ordered my first batch of C-E2s and more cartomizers. I think I may have enough cartos to last me well into next year, enough eLiquid to last me a couple months, and enough spare parts and mods to last me well into the next lifetime and it only gets bigger and better as every day goes by! The hardest part with vaping in my opinion, and many can agree, is to find that middle ground. Having enough stock to last you without having a shortage of accessories.
Exactly, how much of a supply is enough if the FDA and the states want to ban this??
I don't get it, if you really like your EGO, why don't you just use a regular 510 as a spare?? You must have plenty of batteries from before you switched over... Been looking at Litecig's "X-Power" which is essentially an EGO but only $59.95 (900c) or $44.95 (650c), and free shipping...
I don't get the idea of carts either.. How do you drip the atty to keep it moist?? Do you need to walk around with a syringe all the time??
Hopefully it never comes to the point were the FDA decides to BAN PVs. Thankfully the Governator vetoed a bill, at least here in California, that if passed, would have made PVs illegal. So as a community dodged a huge bullet there. This occurred end of last year I think?
I technically could use my 510 as a spares but I just got into the habit of buying more of different kinds of PVs that now it's more of a hobby. I know I probably wouldn't use my whole collection but I like the ideas of different vendors and I ike to try them out. I know I speak a lot about the 510 and Egos but those aren't the only sets that I use. Actually, I kind of want to get the Tek Mod from COV. The idea of vaping while charging my phone at the same time on the go interests me.
A carto is essentially an atty and cart in a single unit. With cartos, the syringe is only needed with Joye Branded and C-E2 cartos. Some people claim that you can fill them using the condom method by filling the rubber cap with juice and pushing it through either the mouth piece or the battery connector end.
Other brands like SLB and Boge do not require a syringe. You just pop the top rubber cap off and drip down to the side onto the filler and vape as normal.

In that drop down image, you just fill the carto on the filler material and vape away.
