do people still use cartos and top coil tanks?

i have i tried it loosed up and taken out, its the same either way. ive put my col so its right above the screws and the wick ive put it in jus enough to touch the bottom right where the juice flow channels come into it. so the kyfun lite plus shouldnt have a tight draw?

Try a wide boar drip tip.

im_coryy, try the Fogger V4. Best airflow I've found on a tank (not counting user modified ones with enlarged holes via drilling ofc, probably would even give those a run for their money) and the authentic is ~$30.

Also I work at a vape shop and we had a lady come in today absolutely loving her CE5. She said she tried some of the bottom fed tanks and just likes the top coils better. Tried so hard to talk her into getting a decent top coil tank but she was set on the cheap atty that we use for flavor testing just 'cause it's cheap... Some people find something that works for them then get stuck in their ways, not really caring about anything anyone else says is a "better vape". Quotes, since better is subjective and the best vape is what works for you. So no, I don't see them going away for a long time. The minute they do e-bay vendors or websites still sitting on that stock are gonna raise their prices for a "legacy" item, and someone will start making them again since they're so profitable.

The top-coil Kanger T2 is still one of my favorite clearos. I always have a couple ready to go as backups for my Protanks, DCT and (soon to arrive) Kayfun 3.1.

And I enjoy my SmokTech DCT running single-coil standard resistance Boge cartos (which I guess would make it an "SCT", right?). I want to get the better U-DCT with fixed metal end caps and a locking ring (I have the older one with the slip-apart-in-your-hands plastic end caps). I've also been eyeing a nice Youde cartotank for about the same price.

Can't really justify another purchase for a little while, though, since I just bought an HCigar Kayfun 3.1 and a Protank 3. But improving my cartotank situation is next on my ever-growing vaping wish list.

At my age, it is rather hilarious to think of the "good ol' days" as just a couple of years ago. Way back then my wife and I used only cartos (not in tanks) and T2s. About once per month I was boiling and baking cartos. My my, the times have changed...it's so easy for you young whippersnappers.

My wife still uses T2s, but I have graduated all the way up to carto tanks. Bottom line, I don't consider either to be ancient technology.

I started out with T2's and still keep them around with some spare coils. They work great for me. Experimenting with mini PT's and T3's now. Not into rebuilding yet but I'm wanting to try my hand at it since lately the Kanger replacement heads have been about 50/50 DOA.

I'm really liking these Boge Cartos. Use the 15, 16, 16v2, 17 and Rover. Vapelite usually has a decent stock available. Crazyvapes has stock but Ikenvape has a few tanks and is still waiting for Cartos I heard. Do not experiment with a cheap set up like the Smok, I did and the draw is very tight imo.

I loved smok till my orings wore out,
Just the other week i loaded a smok tank and picked my vape up accidentally by the tank, and it slipped right off. I was driving so that made matters worse. 5ml of juice in my lap, all over my mod, my hands, i was ticked off.
Never would have happened with ibtanks or crazyvapes tanks.

anyone here a cyclist?

it's the same thing in the bicycle world.

I would say cartos are like 7/8 or 9/10 speed drivetrains in a 11 speed group world.
sure, the technology is still functional, but the higher end offerings have disappeared
and those older, legacy parts arent as common in the shops that deal in new retail.

there's been an explosion of B&M vape shops that have opened up in the last year in my city.
all the newer ones dont carry carto stuff. it's all RBA/RTA/box mods/drippers and Ego-style stuff for new comers.
If you were to ask for a punch, they'd be confused.

I guess I am fortunate because here in the Grand Rapids (Mi) area there are at least four that I go to (1 is Mister-Es) that have and know how to use and set up carto tanks. A lot of shops probably don't deal in cartos because they are cheap and can be problematic and time consuming to fill leading to unhappy consumers. More profitable to sell clearos maybe???

I don't know. There seem to be an awful lot of threads concerning people having troubles with wicks, coils, airflow, leaks, missing or defective parts...etc. when it comes to re-buildables. Quite often reliability trumps newer 'technology.' From what I have seen of B&Ms in my area, they carry what they can get for cheap from FastTech...

Cartos - Work always and on 350-450mah batteries - Stealth is crucial;)

Top coils - Still have a good hand full, or 3. Great for introducing friends to Vaping and DIY flavor testing.
Kanger T-2's and Kanger T-5's
T2 is one of the simplest and best working top wicks I tested(tested a lot)
T5 can be cleaned, wick swapped and filled in about 1 minute.

For pure enjoyment
8 Kayfun style tanks
3 Ithaka Tanks
7 drippers
7 Genny's

Okay, I'm compulsive

Well, I've just ordered a carto tank and some cartos a couple of days ago - been reading posts where people swear by them, so wanted to see what all the fuss was about. I'm currently using bottom coil tanks and have been reasonably happy with them, but then again, I haven't really tried anything else.:) They helped me to quit smoking after 24 years, anyway - anything that could do that so easily (for me) rocks, IMHO! :toast:

I've been experimenting with this n that's. Had a couple of real bad days lately -OP on the provari.

So! What is my trusty tried and true, works every time, replaceable wick and filling is the easiest EVER??

KANGER T2's

And I have 150 of them, just in case. I've only had two tanks fail in the last 6 months...

Love them, love them, love them.

I was into carto tanks for a long time. I did replace the cartos with Sophias. I was not a huge fan of top coils which lead me to carto tanks in the first place. I do however, own a couple of ProTank2s which are bottom coil. But I do like the Kayfun the best.

I don't think cartos, carto tanks, and clearos will disappear anytime soon. Not everybody rebuilds, and those things do provide a decent vape.

Cartotanks are the least problematic
