Most of these venders don't pay for shipping on returns. At least not the ones I have used. Either way I just look at it as my sparkplug cost about $8 more then everyone else's lol

you can send it back first class with insurance or tracking in a padded envelope for quite a bit less

Just heard back from the company, unless you are using the kit with there batteries and atomizers it is not guaranteed to work.
Which means its going in the junk draw.

Yeah thats normal for any of the PV's that have a warranty. They can't guarantee unknown hardware. That is funny though cause with there atty and batts its not guaranteed to work either. At least they replace the failed parts though

LOL that is funny

Its also funny that most reliable pv I have ever used is a 7 dollar box mod.

Just noticed this thread. Have an SP2 as my backup and was considering a 3. My go-to PV is a Precise 16 which is also mechanical and works in a similar way.

For greater firing surety I would suggest trying a tiny amount of silver conductive grease at the battery junctions. If you put it on too thick or smear it beyond the area of contact the PV may keep firing after you stop pressing the button. This can get the casing and battery dangerously hot before the sustained heat blows your atty.

I'm really not having issues with battery or anything, but my atty was starting to misfire something fierce last night. I dropped it in a shot glass of alcohol, then blew it out real well this morning. Now it's hitting like it was brand new again.

Oh...by the way...just got an email from them also. Looks like their coming out with a new higher voltage gizmo in a couple of weeks with protected batteries. Gonna be a little more expensive though. They're taking pre-orders for them now. GAHHH! Too many things to spend money on!

Starter Kit was only on sale for July. Btw in case anyone was following or wondering about my misfires. Well they sent me a new kit and it has worked perfectly however I am now having no problems with the old one either. I did clean with vodka though so my theory is that as a new dripper I somehow gunked up the atty real quick and didn't know it. Its been hitting fine since. So yeah I am chalking this up to user error. But hey at least I got to find out that there support is awesome! Can't wait for the Thermo or the Cartos to come out.

Oh and if anyone wants to use adapters for these take my advice and don't get the 801 to 510 from Good Prophets... it doesn't thread correctly. Not sure about other venders but theirs didn't work however their 801 to 808 worked great. Weird huh?

Wow! Two for one special huh? Congrats! I'm glad you got everything worked out. It just doesn't seem to me like anything short of really careless use would ever go bad with these things. I've heard that the button messes up with the SP2...not doubting folks or anything, but...how? It's a simple "push the button in and it pushed the battery up to make a connection" type thing. I just wonder if these folks weren't having atty issues and over thought it possibly? The atty seems to be the weak spot on these...even the manufacturer admits that...but what do I know? I'm such a noob, I am probably dead wrong!

Nah they sent me an email asking me to send the first unit back... I'm getting around to it. Supposedly they redesigned the whole button so who knows how it used to mess up. Before they were using standard 801 atty's so prob wasn't them.

And yeah I don't know why they would create the hybrid atty and then release it with known problems. Support said they did it because users asked for it but here is the thing as a manufacturer, you can't cater to every customer and the customer does not know the real problems there requests could make. I see no reason why they should have changed it. Honestly I wish it was still a 801. This is why they either need a forum or should set one up here! They need to get to know there customers and communicate with them through something other then emailing the owner.
