Do you crave the activity or the nic from smoking?

Hi everyone, I'm a noob here.
I ordered an e-go kit but haven't received it yet. Weird thing is, I'm not really a serious smoker. I'm one of those people that smokers and non-smokers both hate. I've had 2 cigs in the past week. I never smoked at work, in the morning, just when I'm around people who are smoking/drinking. I don't enjoy drinking (weird, I know), so I'd just smoke and hang out. I very much enjoy the activity of smoking, especially while playing cards, fishing, etc. I am looking forward to vaping. It just seems like I'd get the same "activity" pleasure from it. I've ordered lots of zero nic liquids and a couple 6mg ones, just in case.
I also ordered much higher nic liquids for my friends to try, cause I know they're going to want to.

This is a great question. In trying to recommend which e-cig product to buy to friends, I always try and figure out if they need the ritual or the nicotine. If they need the nicotine then they will only be happy with some of the stonger vapes. If it's the behavior for them, I recomend the cheaper/smaller ones like blu or eluma. I hate to see people get discouraged with their first purchase.

I'm honestly not sure anymore. I think I vape more than I smoked (mostly because I can vape inside), but I don't use high nic content (6-12 mg) and I'm fine...that is until I get stressed. I'm working as we speak under a deadline (shame on me for being here), and I want to go outside and have an analog so bad it's killing me. Guess I'll just have to suck on my e-cig like a pacifier until the craving goes away! 8-o :vapor:

So...I guess it's both for me, but mostly the ritual of it all that I seem to miss the most.

I'm definitely more addicted to the 'act' of smoking than the nicotine fix. When I was using the patch I still smoked, because I missed the whole ritual thing, not because of withdrawal. Vaping takes care of both for me, but when I'm around people who are smoking analogs, or if I see a pack of Marlboro on the kitchen table, I start fiending like crazy!! I've been smoking for 30 years, and I'm having a tough time letting go. I've been vaping for 3 weeks, but I still light up sometimes. I'm getting really tired of going back and forth, though...and the analogs don't even taste good anymore. I'm ready to go 100% analog free. Good luck to you....and to me!!

It's definitely both for me. I had worked my way down to ultralights before vaping. Then chained vaped on my 901 for two weeks. When my eGo came in I ended up vaping less but getting more nic (vaping 18mg on both). After a few days on the eGo, I was in a position where I couldn't use it for a while and ended up with the worst nic fit I had in years! I wasn't craving a cig, I was craving the nicotine and had to go vape. I went crazy on the 18mg juice order, but I need to lower my content.

Having said the above, even if I got to zero nic, I would still enjoy the activity. Smoking had been my friend for many years, and I enjoy the activities and social aspects minus the cough and the stink!

I enjoy the nicotine. In stopping and in medical testing I've found I've never been addicted to it, though. I DO like the way it picks me up when tired or bored.

I like the act of "smoking."

I LOVE the flavor (tobacco). I vape more than I used to smoke just because of this. "Candy" without calories!

I can go a 12 hour shift without vaping (hospital setting) but look forward to (but NOT crave) that puff when I get to my car.

Cigarettes have always been a so-so experience for me. Pipe tobaccos and cigars were where the flavor was.

Hi Enid, newbie here too! :thumb:
With me it's both as well, both the ritual and the nic. I've only been vaping a week and a day, so I haven't settled into a routine yet. Or settled on a nic level either. But I don't miss the analogs too much and after 40 or so years of them that's something I guess!
Hey, you're from Greenville, my wife's from nearby Gaffney, she's the one that got me to get e-cigs for us. :headbang:

Smoking analogs was a pleasure for me, I enjoyed it although I knew the dangers. I really hated to give them up. To be honest I would throw out the TV, cell phone and such rather than the smokes. Vaping has been a blessing for me. I think the nicotine plays a big part in it but the smoking was my release, my pleasure and my friend I could count on to make me feel better. Sounds strange I know but I seems like it's a part of me and vaping now fills that need. Someday I hope to be off all of it but for now it works for me.
