I think motorcycle riding teaches people to be great car drivers because we learn to drive as if we are absolutely invisible and we learn to observe what everyone else is doing in their cars around us. You learn to pay attention to every single car or bike or bicycle or pedestrian around you for about a block. Riding a motorcycle made me a better car driver for sure! And, no, I don't drip-n-drive, use a cell phone, put my make-up on, read the newspaper (I've actually seen this, a guy with the newspaper completely open in front of his face-I kept looking to see if he had radar or something) when I'm driving. For me, it's not worth it-I'd rather wait or find a safer alternative. I try to drip a bit if the lights red, but if it doesn't happen it doesn't happen.

Oh yeah- I hate the loud Harleys too but I'd rather have that then a bunch of dead harley riders..and I always kept my highbeams on for good measure too.

Ok, I am guilty. I have tried the tea Bag mod and liked it at first, but it just wastes too much juice to use carts!! Plus it seems like I have to top off just as often as I drip anyway, so what's the point? I really have to try the Blue Foam plug mod though, heard good things. I am hoping that Mod will end my dripping and driving. I have a 30 minute commute in the morning (all highway) and there is virtually no traffic at 5:00 in the morning so I am not endangering anyone's life but my own. In the afternoon on my way home, I get off the expressway and pull over to drip. Takes a little more time, but it will save lives so no matter how much time it takes, it is worth it! As you can see, I really do use an incredible amount of caution when dripping in my car and I only drip when it is safe to do so (ie no vehicles anywhere near me or I am stopped on the side of the road). Anyone who drips and drives in traffic is going to hurt someone eventually, please do not do it!!! If you were to hurt someone, not only would it be terrible for the person getting hurt (obviously) but you would live the rest of your life with guilt.

I got into 1 accident in my life when I was 20 years old (now 37) and I almost went head on with another vehicle. Luckily, I swerved at the last second and just side swiped his car, but I still totaled his vehicle. I was looking for a CD or something, just not paying attention. What a dumb kid I was. When his 2 kids got out of the back seat I started crying and could not stop, I could have killed them. This accident will be forever embedded in my memory. I still cry when I think about it, and I am a MAN. I have never felt so awful in my life, and no one was hurt. If I had hurt any of them, I probably would have never been able to drive again.

So YES I take driving very seriously, and I am not about to endanger the life of another driver due to not paying attention. Ok, Storytime is done. Sorry so long folks!!! :)

I do not drip and drive or do anything that takes my attention off the road. My sisters almost died in a head on collision with a woman digging in her purse instead of watching the road(they were on a bridge). Its not worth it, esp when you are endangering others. My little sister went threw months of hell over someone being distracted and stupid on the road. My younger sister still has nightmares about it all. Vehicles are not toys and you do not have the right to endanger those around you with bad choices, I think they should start prosecuting those that cause pain and suffereing to other because of dumbass choices such as reading, makeup, cell phones or fiddling with dripping and driving.

It is now ILLEGAL to use ANY handheld devices in your vehicle in Ontario. Now, that being said, I can talk and chew gum at the same time. If I have my cell phone on hands free, I don't see any difference between talking 'on the phone' or talking to someone sitting in my passenger seat.

BUT, the ban isn't for TALKING, it's for TOUCHING the phone. That means, no dialing and ESPECIALLY no TEXTING!! It ALWAYS, without fail, blows my MIND to see someone actually TYPING while driving! How stupid ARE these people?

You know, I think we're all guilty of adjusting the seat, the stereo, rolling down the window, adjusting a mirror, waving to a friend, reading a billboard, looking for an address, etc.. It's a matter of choosing the place and time with a little forethought and discretion.
I usually only drip at a traffic light or before I start moving from a parked position. But (for those needful occasions) I have perfected a method for 1 handed dripping so I can still keep my hand on the wheel. I hold my dropper bottle inverted between my thumb and forefinger while holding my PV with the pinky of the same hand. I then bring my dripping hand up to where I need only glance at it for a split second, much the way on would when checking their speedometer. That keeps my eyes on the road too. Even with that precaution I would never try it with traffic around. This technique requires a little practice to perfect, and I recommend trying it a home a few times until you get it.
