I wonder how many cloud chasers have woken up in the morning with an elephant on their chest, or got winded from walking up stairs, or couldn't go more than an hour without a dose of nic. I wonder how many cloud chasers at one point had a doctor visit and told them that if they didn't quit smoking, they'd surely die. I wonder how many cloud chasers were faced with cancer scares. I wonder because (from my experience, and all I have to go on in life are my experiences) not a lot of them are old enough to feel the cumulative effects of smoking for decades.
I don't even know why I post here anymore, or read ECF, even. I'm taking another self-imposed break from here. Call me old, call me outdated, this place just isn't the same as it used to be.
EDITED: Cloud chasing is all the rage, and it just makes me kinda shake my head. Yeah, it's a hobby, yeah, it's perfect for tinkerers. But vaping originally was about quitting smoking. I understand hotrodding and modding and x-game type whatever, but people are assuming that rebuildables and sub ohming are the inevitable end game, and if you're not doing it, you're not doing it right.
Ok, I'm done. Peace out, ya'll. I'll be back later.
EDITED: One last edit. I understand ex-smokers who eventually became cloud chasers. It's not unknown. But the reason why there's this dichotomy going on between "normal" vapers and "cloud chasers" is that, for the most part, and I can't give hard numbers, a lot of us took this up because we KNEW smoking would kill us. It was literally a life or death situation. Now a bunch of hotrodders come in and take what perhaps saved our lives and turn it into an x-sport. With almost zero respect for what this (vaping) was originally intended.
Mah! I'm an old fart!! I can't help it. But speaking as someone who loved counter-culture anything in my past, as I've gotten older, yeah, the whole "get off my lawn" thing is very, very real.
