Your "quit" is your own responsibility. Be accountable.

Just like nobody owes you a clear path to walk thru in a crowded venue, or out in the street or sidewalks.....because guess what? You are just another BODY taking up space, too.

Self importance seems terribly out of control these days.

Had abstained from posting in this thread until now. The above quoting sums up my view well.

In my mind we are all equals. Humility is something I work toward all the time. Also work toward not judging people, except myself at times. Reserve a right to see, call stupid on being stupid. To me though, being arrogant, snubbing or shunning others is stupid.

It is fine being different as long as you understand the difference makes you unique, just like everyone else. That was something taught me by mom. She also taught "live and let live". Often, think of mom and realize she had/has big old brass ones.

I do not think I'm better than smokers. I may or may not be better informed. Ignorance is curable. Stupidity, or a desire to not learn is not curable. I'll be ignorant all day before being stupid for a minute.

there's a new group of vapers born...Snooty Puffers.

Yeah umm I'm going to have to pass on that group.

In fact after all this I think I am going to quit calling myself a vaper, and be a smoker who found something else to "smoke".

They're far less judgemental and whiny it must have been all those "years out in the cold" that have toughened them up. :p

I agree. I love how some say "I'm not judgemental....." and in the next sentence, proceed to point out how stupid and rude smokers are. I read this thread for the same reason I watch cops. My self esteem skyrockets.

Whenever i go in the smokers area i am always reminded of why I no longer smoke opposed to feeling threatened or offended by it. It's also inspiring because some smoker always reaches out to me and inquires about my alternative method to smoking. I always leave a smoking area feeling good about my own decisions and the decisions i have hopefully inspired another to make or least consider. Guess we all have different experiences but after reading this thread, i can't help but believe attitude has a lot to do with whether we have a positive or negative experience when encountering smokers.

As far as cigs stinking...anyone who thinks their beloved flavor is not offensive to some is kidding themselves...your vapor stinks just as bad and maybe worst to some then cigs. Vapers and smokers need to respect each other and be more tolerant in understanding that not all smokers or vapers are going to like each others vapor smells. It isn't just cigs that stink and offend others...vaping flavors can have the same effect on smokers.

If we can't be tolerant of smokers, then why should anyone be tolerant of vapers.

just remember, you used to be a smoker too, didnt you dislike anti smokers who got in your face or were rude? i certainly did

:lol: I wondered why I keep watching all the reruns even though I know most episodes by heart.

I completely agree, I have never had a smoker show anything but curiosity or genuine interest when I'm out vaping. Of course once in awhile the will parrot what they have heard in the news but a few minutes of talking fixes that easily.

I guess it's different places, different experiences then again around here randomly walking up to strangers and talking trash about (insert topic here) just doesn't happen that often.

I'd not only be embarrassed by this, but the very thought of making people with AIDS the .... end of some kind of joke, not to mention even suggesting that a crowd would NEED to part because somebody with AIDS was in the crowd.......

REally, I don't know what to say to some of these posts. It's almost astounding to me.

I hope this is not the kind of society we have to look forward to..... I'm too old for this crap.
I'm only going to respond to this nastiness because for some unknown reason you have decided to cast aspersions my way. I made my discomfort with what my former friend was doing very plain, but fully understand that it can be extremely difficult to notice such nuance while up on your high horse.

Get your last thoughts in now.
I'm very sorry if I am the cause of this. It was neither my intention to inculcate myself into somebody else's war — nor to cause others to take offence with my carefully chosen words. But my comment immediately above was, I believe, necessary as I simply could not allow the inferences made to remain unchallenged. I absolutely had to retort.

I throw a few clouds out of the window when being tailgated. The tailing vehicle almost always creates space to steer clear of the haze. A nearly foolproof method to create safe traffic space...
I keep a can of pennies and rusty old nuts for the same purpose lol

Still, I am going to take a valuable lesson from this. I had interjected with what I thought was a fittingly similar tale in an foolish attempt at both lightening the tone a bit and to make a subtle point — which was disastrously misunderstood. I have re-engaged my read-only filters for polemic threads.
