Do you get the munchies?

I am finding my e-cig is not fulfilling my need to eat like smoking did... I am slightly over weight and always used smoking and coffee in place of food. I know its unhealthy but I do not have much time to be active. I work two jobs and am a full time student and have 2 kids with one on the way... I normally only eat the dinner my wife cooks me when I get home from work then a quick snack before I go to my second job... Other then that I find I can get through the day with just smokes and coffee... Now with the e-cig I find that I am feeling hungry... Last night out on my paper route I was lucky to have a bag of freshly picked apples to munch on. I do not even like apples but these were great... Hopefully the ecig will give me the healthy munchies but I dont want to start eating chips and stuff..

I don't think it gives you the munchies. I think it just doesn't do as good of a job masking the fact that you're hungry. I never eat breakfast on work days, there just isn't time. So I do like you, and drink coffee until lunch. When I smoked, this helped to tide me over until I could eat. Now, not so much.

However, when I am truly not hungry, vaping has never made me want to snack more than before, so no "munchies".

It's true, you will find yourself starving suddenly after giving up analogs. The way I look at it, I was overweight on the coffee and cigs diet that I held onto for 22 years. At least now I have the lung power to take a quick run up the hill at night with my dog to work off those calories from the munchies!

Yes, I would have to agree with you. HA!

Protein is also another appetite suppressant, so I have Spanish Peanuts beside my computer, and I only eat them one at a time. A person will eat less of them, doing it that way.

Sugar is an appetite increaser, so by eating pure Spanish Peanuts with no sugar, like Peanut Butter has in it, I eliminate having the sugar making me want to eat more.

I also grab one ounce of cheese, with two crackers, for a snack, if I get hungry before meal time.

If I just want to crunch, I will grab an apple or some celery. Might try it and see.

Happy Vaporing!

I find I eat less sweets now, especially chocolate. If I want chocolate, I put in some strong flavored chocolate liquid and it satisfies that craving. I use sweet vapes after dinner too instead of dessert.

I love chocolate too, however, I want eat any chocolate unless it is the Dark Chocolate. The Dark Chocolate satisfies my craving better, and I eat less of it. So put Dark Chocolate Hershey Kisses in the Freezer, and they last longer in your mouth. It only takes one or two, then I am done for the day.

I also like the Dark Chocolate Peanut M&M’s, because they have the peanut to give me protein too. This way my blood sugar does not drop as fast from eating chocolate.

I found the same thing when I stopped smoking analogs and went to vaping, not only is there a difference in the nicotine amount in the juice but the way your body absorbs it as well.

I did not know this...Hmmm, so we absorb less nic with vaporing.. Maybe that is why I see people wanting a higher level of nic in the vaporing, to make up for the loss.

I've got a constant ziplock bag full of veggies in the refrig--actually they are sitting right next to me right now.
For the salt cravings, I do mixed nuts with sea salt.

I swear vaping is turning me into a healthy person. First I gave up the analogs, then had to start drinking more liquid, and now I'm munching on stuff that's good for me.

I do try to avoid sugar because once I take a bit, I just want more and more.

Great! Glad to see someone get healthy with vaporing. I do not eat much salt, so I discovered the Red Skin Peanuts at Braums seems to have less salt in them, than the Planters Spanish Peanuts. Too much salt can raise your Blood Pressure.

Good Luck in getting healthier!

Some advice that helped when I quit smoking cold turkey, and then later when I'd put on some pounds - do at least mild strength training, like push ups, crunches, and/or lifting weights. Doesn't take long, you build some muscle, and increase your metabolism - resting and otherwise.

Seriously, just 10 minutes a day, and you won't have to worry about what you eat. At least, that's how it's been for me.

I've gotten the best results by focusing on core strength - abs, chest, etc - but everyone works a bit differently.

Plus, you'll feel better. Really. :D

Great advice!

Great Advice! Using the large muscles in your arms and legs burns-up more calories, plus speeds up the metabolism.

Thanks for reminding me!

I am having problems with replying.

Jambo, you might try starting activity by just doing something simple, like taking a walk around the block, or just down the road a few houses, then back. Just state slow and easy, and gradually build yourself back up. Once you get started it may all come back to you. Just a thought.

Good Luck!
