I do get unwanted attention if I vape in public. Been told its not allowed a couple times and it makes me feel uncomfortable so I finally quit doing it anymore except outside. Plus I don't like making anybody uncomfortable. I have couple places I go that always has a few people outside lighting up and I just join in then because I do like to vape with company even if they are smoking cigarettes. Once it seemed there were over 5 people giving me the same weird looks and doing the looking around thing as if trying see if there was a vape patrol on duty or something. I mean, all I can do is ignore them and cut it short because it's no longer enjoyable when people are eyeballing the activity like that. It's too bad too because unlike smoking a few hits doesn't quite relax me. I like to to really work up vape, hold it a bit and exhale through my nose ( only one nostril works right so I know it looks funny) and also French smoke plus do it one after another for at least 5 times. I just don't vape like people smoke. Sometimes it's too much work and I think about going back to chewing Nicorette. If it wasn't for WTA and a few awesome flavors I could and not feel like I'm failing. In fact, I'm planning on getting the gum because vaping on the go tends to make me feel frustrated. At home I have several e cigs and flavors and drip or use tank and it's all right there in reach along with every other little thing(. Q tips, Kleenex, ice water, sucky candies, fresh battery, charger etc).

The closest I come to vaping in public is at work and in my car. My coworkers were curious about it, but they're already getting used to it. A couple of them have even expressed interest in getting their own PVs. I did get a funny look from a customer as I was puffing away on my way out of the parking lot at work today. I wonder what she thought I was doing...

Sounds pretty stupid to me. You might try catching him at a good time and tell him you dont appreciate him making a false connection between the two, especially since what youre doing is legal while the other isnt.:)

Yeah I probably should. Thankfully there wasn't anyone else around other than my coworker (who introduced me to vaping) to make pick up on his tomfoolery. I find it interesting how much ignorance me vaping in public has exposed. I figured most people wouldn't understand at first without explanation but (alarmingly) I seem to encounter quite a bit of condescension when I do explain it. Makes me question if it can truly be considered ignorance or just downright prejudice.

I typically vape outside my office. I cant say that Ive gotten any dirty looks or remarks. The few people that have said something to me have been smokers who were curious to if it actually worked and asked where they could get one. I haven't been vaping for all that long, so this may just be beginners luck. I initially was a little apprehensive about breaking out my PV in public, but Im beginning to not care what others think, but I will always be respectful of others when it comes to vaping as I was with smoking

Hi, only been vaping 3 months. I started w cig2o kit I bought @ cigarette/ petstore, vapage I guess is their mothersite... anyway they have the funniest thing in their faq (FROM VAPAGE) "So what does the savvy vaper do if someone approaches, assuming you are smoking and endangering them and their loved ones with second hand smoke? You stab them with the end of the battery as if putting out your "cigarette" on their arm and watch them freak out until they realize it is just a light. JUST KIDDING! :p " I laughed so much! I ordered a KGO from NW vapors & they send a business card that on the back explains what is up, which I also love. My family loves that I'm vaping, I can do it inside no prob, much better than me disappearing for 10 minutes every 30 or even worse, leaning out the door smoking letting hot air out & smoke in. My issues in public are people freaking out about what's in the exhale vapor... I guess I should know, is their nicotine in the exhale that can "stick" to babies or puppies or whatever? I feel that if I KNOW what is coming out, I can better defend the "concerned" folks that ask. (Thanks so much for this forum, I've learned so much!)

Not really weird looks but when I was in Las Vegas last year, I was in the Miracle Mile Mall and while I was standing in front of a shop there waiting for the wifey to powder her nose, I was taking the occasional vape from my VmodXL. A lady in the shop walked out and said " Lo siento. Ees no smoking een the mall." I looked at her and said "I know". She walked away.
Later when I was in Bills Saloon & Casino at the roulette table, I was using my Vmod while placing bets. I would set it down on the table in between puffs. I keep it in an old leather cell case on a lanyard for easy access. A pit boss saw it & walked over telling me no cell phones at the tables. While I understand this casino rule, I picked it up & showed it to him explaining what it was. He must have then recognized what it was because he said more or less, OK no problem, carry on.
