I wanted to get a new sub-ohm tank tonight, though I've had no problems with the artic the past 6 months I've recently run into some problems with it, the ohms kept jumping on me sometimes which was annoying, so I figured I'd check out a new tank. I chalked it up between the UWELL Crown and the Smok TFV4. I get to the vape shop and the guy instantly recommended the TFV4 when I asked what is in your opinion the best sub-ohm tank out now. So I went for it.. Brought it home tonight, vaped her at 45 watts which is normall what I keep my artic at... The thing shines brightest at 80-85 watts.. same wattage I vaped most of my RDA's at. The tank puts out just as much vapor as any RDA I've seen. Dripping becomes a hassle after a while and I think the only argument left is flavor. I guess there is also the whole hobby side of building as well.. but in terms of vapor, it seems like tanks on own par, and almost there with flavor as well. What do you guys think?

Instead of having an rda and a completely different rta, wouldn't you rather have an rda, where you can swap the topcap off and put a tank on the top?

The flash e vapour is designed very much like that; the base where you put the coil looks like a dripper, and the tank sits above it.

rda's and rta's are like manual gearshift cars compared to automatic transmission.
With an rda you have to manually juice up the coil;
with an rta, you depend on the wicking system to get just the right amount of liquid to the coil without the coil getting flooded or getting dry.

The question becomes : how to get the wicking to adjust; to speed up when you need it or slow down when the wick is wet enough.

RDA's have about as much chance of going extinct as OG Baby Gangster Vapers who have held down the block since jump fool.

I love it when people speak of arrogance and are quite that themselves. :)

I love it when people speak of speaking and then use slang that only wanna-be thugs can understand.

No seriously, using that vernacular only serves to prove my point.

If thats the so-called future of vaping, I'll pass.

And thats not arrogance speaking, thats the cold, hard truth.

Factory coils will never be as good as a nice build on a Genesis attie, an RDA, or a bottom fed squonk setup...I'll keep buying re-buildables from folks rushing to get the newest, latest and greatest whatever they are tossing out into the marketplace this or next week...
There will always be a market for RDA but it will become more and more niche.

Tanks have made great inroads. I bought a Uwell Crown Tank and am finding that it's producing voluminous flavorful vaper.
My bottom feeders [dripping from Bottom] are gaining Cobwebs.

The New Tanks have huge low resistance coils strung vertically and in my opinion are providing a better vape flavor wise then any RDA that I've ever built.

Try a crown tank, seeing is believing.

I can't possibly imagine why they would go extinct as they are a product with die hard fans (i.e. customers). For the manufacturer, they're generally cheaper to manufacture and package. For the user, they're generally easier to build on and wick acceptably. The product category will likely narrow and become more refined, but go extinct? What earthly reason could that happen?

For myself, after my introductory phase with the "spark plug" coils until I got comfortable enough with the basics, I went rebuildable and won't ever go back. While I'm a RTA/RDTA guy myself, I appreciate and understand the niche RDAs occupy. I'm just too lazy to want to deal with the dripping when I don't have issues with the tank systems, but I'm way too frugal to pay someone to make me a coil tied to a wick that will go bad long before the coil does. But, just like the RDAs, those prebuilt coil systems have their niche too.

I don't think you squonk enough 004! ;)

Sweet setups you got there.

To the op, No rdas will never die out. Tanks are big right now, and for newer vapers that haven't gotten into rebuilding they are easier. But most vapers move over to the "dark side" when they realize what can be done on an rda.
Finally got a good build on me vector that doesn't pop into my face. Anyone else have issue with claptons in the vector popping juice into your face?

Yes. Scientists predict an asteroid will hit the earth, wiping out all the RDA's. RTA's will be evolved enough to survive the event. Vaping before the event will be called the Driptonian era.

epic!
but no, its too easy to change flavors with a dripper so if I just want to test a juice real quick I will never use a tank for that
