Do you mind if I use my portable steamer in here? It really helps my breathing.

Perception is the key to acceptance.

These last couple of weeks, I've started to ask owners/managers of places that I frequent if I can use my portable steamer in their places of business. I say it just like the title of this thread, and every single one has said that yes it is fine. I also explain to the waiter/cashier/clerk that I asked the owner/manager if I could use my portable steamer, and that they already gave permission.

Once in a while, the person will ask what it's for, and I tell them that I used to be a smoker for a long time, and that smoking has wreaked havoc on my lungs. I also ask them if they've ever used a steamer at home to breathe better when they've had a cold or allergy problems. Almost everybody has used a store bought steamer sometime in their life, and knows that steam helps breathing in alot of cases.

Might be something worth trying in your neck of the woods!

Yeah, and in this case the more "Steampunk" your PV looks the better. :D

Meaning, the less your "Portable Steamer" looks like an analog the better off you are at pulling this off.

Yeah, this probably doesn't work as well if your ecig is a white mini with a red led and a filter-looking carto.

1st- Love Baird.
2nd- Portable steamer is perfect. So much easier to say than PV. So far though, I have never actually had anyone tell me not to smoke it, or even ask what I'm smoking. I was at the store the other day and a cop came up to me, I held out my PV when I noticed him and he was just like "Giiiirl, we had concerned customers come tell me you were smoking, so I looked over there and You were smoking!! So I just had to come check on you." But he didn't tell me to stop, so I kept going. :3

...personal steamer is genius...

It really is! Plus it conjures up such a romantic image. for me, anyway, of a teeny tiny little steamer trunk....

So we can tell them that, and if they look curious, we can say "Ah, yes, I can see the question in your eyes, it is a Darrigaaz. My brother in law got me on the list, don't know how, don't want to, but you know, but when it comes to your health, you have to ask, which is really more important - a new lambo, or breathing? Oh, I've seen those imitations. They say he never even got a patent for the technology itself, that's just the kind of man he is, but of course the knock-offs aren't going to have the gemstones. they're very nice, though. very serviceable... What? Oh, yes, well, I was very lucky, they say the list is up to the 2030s by now.. he only makes three a year,.., hammers the platinum himself, polishes it, all by hand....

I utilized this tonight. I went to a brand new grand opening of a chain restaurant, to follow a favorite band that was performing. I was seated at the bar, and I started asking the bartendress "Hi, do you mind if I use my portable steamer in here? It really"....... (big laughs, she said Of Course you may!).

I did see one waitress point and whisper, but she apparently got the news that I was OK.
