I think the question is, does the 18mg satisfy you? I started at 18mg and quickly went to 24mg. When I notice I'm not chain vaping anymore, it's time for me to cut my nic levels and go back to chain vaping. I'm currenly in the 16-18mg range and may be cutting down again soon. If chain vaping doesn't sit well with you, go with the higher nic levels. Also, if you do stop chain vaping, your batteries should last longer if that's a consideration.

This is a good discussion. I have been cig free for 2 months. I started at 18 kicked up to 24 and quitting was painless. After a month I switched back to 18, now one month later I am using 24 again. Geez I am on the fence, with 18mg I felt like i was chain smoking and usually needed 15 to 20 puffs to get satisfaction. On 24 I can feel satisfied in half of that and I really feel the nic but maybe too much. My juices and cartos are lasting longer though. At the same time I am feeling guilty for using 24 and am afraid I am getting way more nic than when i smoked (15 marboro special blend lights or camel turkish golds per day).

hi otrpu:) how long did it take you to get to zero nic and were you a heavy smoker? to be honest, i like vaping MORE than smoking so i don't know if i'll be breaking my habit.

Say Godin, don't really know for sure. Seems it was around 6 months. I run sort of a loose ship, don't really care to track exact dates or anything else. All I know is it's been many months. Now, since I'm 0Nic0FA, Zero Nicotine Zero Flavor Added, and since my nose still runs from vaping, now I'll switch to no inhaling. The fact that this crap causes any physical reaction to me scares hell outta me. Especially since I vape almost continuously on my days off. That is. . .if I can still call what I do VAPING. When I stopped smoking analogs I was going through 2.5+ PAD after 52 years. JMHO

Cheers,
otrpu

Something to consider, too -- if you end up with a flavor-fixation like I did (I vape as much for the myriad of tastes probably more than I do for the nicotine), you might WANT to stick with lower-nic juices. I find that after 25 years of smoking (the last three or so of which were about 1.5 packs a day of lights), I'm surprisingly not needing the nicotine as much as the ritual action of smoking. I have a variety of juices in the house that range from 0-24 now, and I tend to use 16-18 as my "standard" during the workday, but swap to lower nicotine at night so I can sleep well, and I hit 24 with a solid throat hit when I get a craving for a cigarette (which does happen -- even after almost a month of not having an analog, I think I'm still wanting one of the other weird chemicals that're in tobacco, but I'm almost over it). :)

Try keeping your PV in the next room. So you have to get up and go get it - something like what you had to do with your smokes...

I love this because it's something I never had to do with my smokes, unless I left my shirt in the next room. Heck, even then wherever I was, there'd be a pack of smokes, a lighter and an ashtray. And a cuppa coffee (or much worse).

Life's gettin' better all the time. Happy Vaping! :vapor:

hey:D after a week with 24mg (from 18) i vape A LOT less. now i find myself hitting it for the ry4 flavor until i reach the nic wall. the shocker to me is that i will leave the house to run errands or walk my cat and forget to bring my ecig. for 20 years i didn't leave the room without my bali shag. THIS IS AWESOMEEEE! i hope you're all staying off those analogsB)

thanks mrgiggly. 'having no end point' is an awesome way to put it.

i don't have any nic od signs. sometimes smoking bali shag i'd get that dizzy, paranoid feeling but not with the volt! i'm going to get maybe a 10ml bottle of 24mg and give it a shot. i just don't want to be increasing my addiction because to be honest, i'd like to not have to stop vaping. thanks for your thoughts!

I would suggest that you get a small bottle of 36mg to keep on hand. When you are having strong cravings, just drip a few drops on your atty and vape away - that should do the trick.

When I was really trying to get off of those last few analogs I would vape 30mg first thing in the morning, then drop to 24 during the day and hit the 30mg as I had cravings that the 24mg just was not taking care of. Two things - I never went above 30mg (just did not seem right even though some times I thought I needed it) and now after several months I still use the same routine, but at lower nics 24mg in the morning and 18 -20mg during the day and if I get a craving (rare now) I will hit the 24mg until it is gone.

I have a plan to keep lowering the nic 2 -4mg at a time to get it as far down as possible, but I will take it slow because I have seen as I lower the nic I increase vaping and it takes me a while to get that back down. When I do I will lower the nic again...

I think I'm more addicted to the wonder flavors versus the nicotine. I say this because I've gone 4 days without vaping and didn't have any withdrawals...just missed my tastey flavors.

I started at 36mg and have steadily dropped without any problems adjusting to it. Never gone up unless I was really stressed...then it was only a few puffs at 24mg that I keep a bottle of. As for vaping non-stop, yes I do, but I was a 4 PAD smoker so chain vaping isn't anything new. The best I can tell you is to try it and go a little higher. Pay attention to how many mls you vape now, and then how many mls at a higher nic you vape. That's the best way to tell if it helps or not.
