Here is what I see happening: They hope the tobacco bill goes through. All of the competition is banned right out of existence and then when our supplies run low... they ride in on their horse and charge $300 for kits and $100 for 10ml of crappy juice. And guess what? We buy it because we are desperate OR we don't and smoke something else.

Actually, they look like they are going to sell you a package of carts preloaded with their crappy juice in identical packaging to analogs. This way they can sell you a package of carts for the same price as a regular pack of analogs. Maybe the government could even just tax it the same as analogs too. Regardless if big tobacco or Phillip Morris is behind this or not, this stinks.

I suspect it is a few guys trying to take this that direction and slightly change the packaging approach, etc. maybe even get FDA approval of their carts and make it simple for the government to tax. Either way it is a re-bagged e-cig.

Whatever this company is, I don't like them one bit. They do not have our interests in mind, that is for certain. If what they have planned works out, it will be great ($$$) for them, the Gov't, etc. and suck for us.

These guys our slime. They are simply trying to steal the idea, the market, etc., IMO.

I too will be awaiting Lacy's input on who might be behind this. Perhaps it even stinks more than I think it does already.

Interesting,
The link to manufacturing on their website shows, at least the R&D is being done in Shanghai China.
I did a whois on their website, it is registered to Ulrik Remy Ulrik Remy - Welcome

Welcome to the Future - Smokefree Innotech Inc. was registered through godaddy.com. This leads me to believe that this site is also hosted on godaddy.com. godaddy, like so many web hosting companies, offers hosting plans ranging from $4.99 a month to the unlimited plan for $14.99 per month. I seriously doubt that this site/company has spent the thousands required to set up hard lines/fibre optics and servers, as this just isn't cost effective unless you are one of the big boys on the internet. When at $15.00 per month you are virtually unlimited in bandwidth-- space and transfer.

Ulrik Remy, from what I can gather is a German Singer/Songwriter.
One of the songs he has listed in English is "On the Road Again". I thought that was written by Willie Nelson. Maybe he is just translating them and doing them in German.

Ulrik Remy might not have anything to do with the 'Zig' company. He might just hold the domain name and rent it out.

SFIO was incorporated in 1994 in Nevada. Currently employs 5 people and has a stock value of 14 cents.

Yes it is possible that they are renting the domain name. But why rent?
If Ulrik Remy has nothing to do with this company, and this is the domain name that I just had to have, I would have tried to buy it from him.
Even if I was renting out the domain name, I would not want to be listed as the administrative or technical points of contact, if for no other reason, as a concern of liability.
Plus this domain was first created and registered in Feb, 2009. That alone should tell us something.

Interesting Curriculum Vita - not just a singer - see what he did aged 20 and again in the 1990's.

There are companies I know that offer their services in the form of e-commerce websites. You can get a whole package, including a domain name, for your money. The e-commerce company register the domain name and in some cases retain the rights to it, thus ensuring the customer stays with them. You might find one name associated with numerous domains.

IMHO... I don't think there is any connection with Altria here nor is there any real company or product.... seems to be just a typical pump and dump scheme to make money from uninformed investors as Aldo had previously stated... None of the claims this company makes or agreements with business partners make sense... I think thats about all the time I wish to waste on this scam...

Let me say ONCE again, BT is not so stupid to be left behind on this. My money is on them owning at least one e cig company from they start. I am guessing who it is, but I have no evidence to support it. It, BTW, is probably not SE or Njoy, but who knows. BT did not work for decades on developing a smokeless cigarette only to be somehow left behind by an upstart tiny company. It is not logical.

Didn't even notice the year of the OP was 4-01-2008, LOL!

I love it when this happens on forums...

-edit- Well, it still seems relevant. Seems they are slow to launch this thing. Still worried about what they are planning to do (e.g. sell pack of carts that are comparable to packs of analog making it easy to be lumped in with the tobacco tax, etc.)...

2. Business Development Schedule
Introduction of commercial product is anticipated in two test markets:
Greece and Benelux( Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands) in
Q1&2of 2010.
In Q4 of 2009 SFI would enter the US market.
In 2010: further larger European markets will be introduced for
distribution: Spain & Portugal, Italy, France, Scandinavia, German
territories, Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic.
As of 2011: Korea and Japan, Canada and Australia, Middle East
countries, South American continent France, UK & Ireland. Canada will
follow, whereby the order depends solely of the partners to be selected in
each area. SFI’s philosophy in this matter remains:
“first come, first serve!”
