All atomizers have a wick, and they are under the bridge of all atomizers as far as I know.
The term "exposed" refers to whether the bridge is sticking up for all to see, or buried down in the atomizer casing.

Exposed bridges can be used for dipping, although nobody really cares for that much anymore.
Dripping is easier than dipping, and dripping can be done just as well with either an exposed or recessed atomizer.

As far as what someone prefers...

Juice is one of your expenses, so every drop counts. LOL
Aside from curiosity, that was my main reson for the thread!! I even get irritated when it's all over my fingers!! So, I did the tear apart the DCC and put it in the syringe thing, IT WORKED GREAT!!
It worked really well!!! Thanx! With that, I will be less afraid of trying to fill a carto, knowing that if all else fails I can still squash it out!!
Question
do you have a preference to high/low bridge attys? Not sure if that's the right term. Is one better for dripping/ cart use?

Glad it worked for you. As far as atty's go I don't know the difference between the high/low bridge atty's. The one I use is a 510 3.2 ohm and came in my kits. You can clearly see the metal mesh bridge and I just drip on the bridge. When it new I put in more that 3 or 4 drops to get it saturated the first time then just add 3 or 4 drops when needed or put on the filled cart. If you get to much juice in it and it gurgles and doesn't vape right, just blow it out on a napkin.

I use a fresh cart on a new atty to "break it in" but go to a drip tip shortly thereafter.

Ok, there is the whole "break in thing". What does. This mean exactly? I've heard it of course, but what's the "science" behind it? AND maybe I don't have any "broken in" attys. Would that make much of a difference?

Not sure, look at my post # 132 above. I think it means you have soaked the atty well with juice the first time you use a new one and let it soak in for awhile so it wicks it into the coil and is ready to vape. Hope this helps a little.

Glad u saw the pics! Kind of funny I keep going back to my riva 1100's!! My hand gets cramped!! No really, I get a great vape! Problem is, I know I'm killing them with my DCC's

Edit: bet that wouldn't happen with carts

I'm not sure either. When I got my new atty, I wet it with juice and off I went. If anything, breaking in reminds me of non-stick pans. The instructions that come with say to cover it with grease and don't wash it all off, heat, cover with grease again...something like that. That is supposed to bond the grease to the teflon coating. Am I way off now? As far as I know, my attys have all broken in and aren't broken yet, so I'm happy.

High, low bridge atty? Again, not sure. (Hey, I'm new too). I have seen longer tubed attys like the 510s that have the bridge inside the tube. I have also seen short tubed attys where the bridge is sticking out of the tube on the cart end. Is that what it means?

I hope so!!! I have 4 in rotation and one still in a wrapper!! Was not really planning on still using them when I got 2 epower 8650 and a 14?? and a bottom feeder box mod!! Still love the Rivas!!

Do some of your attys look like the bridge is higher than others! I hear people refer to this but, alas, know NOTHING
