Nope......can't stand the smell of them burning anymore. I have to move upwind if I have to converse with somebody smoking. I don't ridicule them for smoking, I just move to where it doesn't bother me. I am in construction so just about everyone smokes. It is hard to keep away from it being the work is outside, so I just put myself in a position to minimize the exposure.

I don't really see the need, as I am still too close to quitting, and the smell sometimes attracts, and mostly repels. I will step outside occasionally just to get the feel. But my smoking buddies haven't really seen me in a month (I stay at home).

The farther you get from that last cigarette, the less the smell of smoke with tempt you. I use to think that vaping could never replace the cigs I smoked with coffee or after a meal. That goes away pretty quickly. Shortly after I quit, my wife would smoke next to me at the table. She didn't like vaping and eventually quit using a prescription medication. It wasn't long before that didn't affect me anymore. I'll have to admit that once in a while someone lights up outside and that first whiff of a freshly lighted cigarette brings back fond memories, but I'd never go back and don't feel any real cravings now.

I still go out to the smoking area at work and, as it is in the fresh air, the second hand smoke doesn't bother me at all. I certainly notice the smell now but its not unreasonable. Quite a few of the gang have switched to vaping so there is a mix of scents in the air. I like the break from sitting at a computer and its good to stay "plugged in" to the informal grapevine.

I second that... Give it a little time.

When I first switched over from cigarettes, the smell of smoke didn't tempt me. However, I quit drinking coffee a month ago. That smell really gets to me. Sometimes I even dream about buying coffee

Yup, still go out with the analogers when they feel the need. Don't mind it most of the time, but sometimes the smell will hit my nose the wrong way. Since I started vaping, I've been able to convert one guy (electrical engineer), another just bought a starter kit and a lady is going to try it out with a 15% discount card I gave her from my favorite B&M store, http://www.rockymountainecigs.com/

Had a smoker friend in my car yesterday who was smoking and it blew me away how repulsed I was by the smell even though I only stopped using analogs about 10 days ago. Between classes I have been joining my old analog pals outside and it hasn't bothered me. Like others have stated, I still enjoy the social aspect with the "pariahs". :)

I'm curios to how many others go out and vape with smokers. I smoked for almost 20 years and really enjoyed the social aspect of smoking. Since I put down the analogs and started vaping a couple months ago; I still go outside with the smoking crew for the social aspect. I've noticed that vaping while getting all of the second hand smoke does detract from my vaping experience. I have trouble getting the good flavor that I've quickly become accustomed too with vaping because of the second hand smoke. Do you still take smoke breaks with the smoking crew or did you leave that behind when you switched to vaping?

Yup I agree. They readily accept you as a "smoker" as well. You still get to be a somber of the club. Once in a while you get a convert too!

The smoking area is the only place I can vape in public so, yeh, I join the smokers. I don't mind. There are usually at least a couple of other vapers there and they don't seem to mind either. I don't worry about second-hand smoke and, incidentally, that's been proven to have been a lie anyway but if the smoking area was inside and enclosed with a lot of smokers there I don't think I would like being in a lot of it.... just for the feel though. But, am resolved to having to be in it to vape. That's right where the ANTZ want me. For now, they rule but that won't be always as more and more of their lies get exposed.

My first week of switching to vaping, I was able to grab a bite with a couple buddies who smoke. I fully intended to vape, while they smoked. But I broke down when I heard the click of the zippo and got a sniff of the lit cigarette. I ended up bumming a cigarette off my buddy.

Maybe fate has been helping me, as well, because life and work has been quite busy the past few weeks. I've gone the last 3 weeks with no time to hang out with my buddies. So it's been 3 weeks since my last analog. Maybe now, my will would be strong enough to vape with them while they smoke.
