I do worry some, but I think it's just natural when beginning to vape. I know I feel better already. I do know that I do not want to go back to smoking. (although I do still get those cravings for a smoke) On my second day of vaping, I smoked 5 cigarettes. The last one burned my tongue so badly, I said "no more!"

The fact that stops me worrying about long term vaping is that PG is the base in asthma inhalers. Surely that stuff must have gone through some trials. It is after all, listed as safe for human consumption. As for nicotine, well it doesn't cause cancer. Flavourings? Meh...the more I think about it, I'm not worried at all. Not in the least

I wouldn't say I worry, but I do got something to worry about.

I didn't used to have to worry about what I was going to do after retirement, cause as a 2pad smoker I probably wasn't going to hang around that long!

But now; suppose I hang around a decade longer than I thought!
What the heck am I going to do?

I was already huffing propolene glycol in my Albuteral inhaler...which I gave up in the first week of vaping and not smoking. Anybody out there need my brand new inhalors that I have left?? I thought not!! Take that Big Pharma!!

Same here on the huffing of PG... for 30 yrs! I haven't quite quit yet, but have smoked less than half a pack since Friday the 21st... I'm still using my inhaler about the same amount, but I'm already starting that "cough it up" phase with this, since I'm NOT smoking a whole pack a day, and haven't been for several weeks. Also, still doing the "cough it up" from a nasty cold I had in January. But I figure once the congestion from the cold is gone, most of the junk from the smoking will be gone too -- THEN I won't need to hit that inhaler nearly as often; maybe only when I first get up in the morning -- my asthma will definitely improve by leaps and bounds, but I doubt it will entirely disappear -- I could be wrong, though, and wouldn't that be great!! :D I can't fuss too much at Big Pharma about that one, though; being low-income and with no med insurance, Glaxo-Smith-Kline has been providing my inhalers for free, for about 3 yrs now; all I have to pay for is the visit to the Dr to get the prescription and refills. When you have bronchial asthma, rescue inhalers are absolutely essential, and apparently they realize that asthma doesn't go away even if you're poor and have no insurance.

It is better. It's all about harm reduction. Nobody here claims that vaping is 100% safe and/or good for you--only breathing fresh air in an unpolluted forest (on a rainy day) is completely safe. :)

However, compared to smoking--well, there's just no comparison!

Welcome aboard.

Completely agree with this. I even view the vapor we are inhaling as being safer than standing around outside in downtown Chicago, LA, New York, etc.

just read some articles published in france today, saying that cigarette sales have dropped by over 7% because of e-cigs.it was interesting re-funny to read the commentaries below the articles from non-smoking ,life perfect experts :"swapping one drug addiction for another , same risks of cancer ,dangerous chemicals ..blah ,blah ,blah".Ok ,it would be good for more scientific un -bias results,as already mentioned breathing just fresh air is best but hey we've made a life changing move & most of us are feeling better for it.we know there are unknowns but its a damm sight better than stinkies....still you can't please everyone can you?Vape on:vapor:

Most studies measure exhaled vapor in the atmosphere, not the actual vapor from vaporizer without human contamination. Majority of what is found in vapor is already exhaled by simply breathing... It wouldn't be that hard to have a test that doesn't require humans to actually vape to measure conditions, and to list said conditions of testing.

i do, thats why i dont plan on vaping forever. i will still keep my stuff though. so if i relapse it will be back to vaping and cigs. i guess its just the unknown that freaks me out. cigs i knew what could happen. ecigs we dont...we could all start growing giant cancerous growths all over our body in 20 yrs, who knows. (not that i really think that will happen.)

Since there's not so much research regarding the potential risks my concern has to do with the reliability of the the info posted in the various forums. Do this, don't do that, use this material because the other is dangerous...All these, sometimes they can drive you crazy. But I assume that this is the main concern about everything you can read on the internet

I'm not too worried about vaping. It has to be better than the 22 years of smoking. I was 2PAD Marlboro Reds for the majority of that period. Funny thing is, I didn't buy a vape to quit smoking. I just wanted one. I liked the idea of it. And I liked that I could use it at times when I couldn't smoke. After a couple days cigs just tasted awful to me. Now if I could just quit buying so much equipment, etc. Lol... It has really become a hobby and something I'm not ashamed of.

34 years in the respiratory therapy business here. Those Ecigs will KILL YOU, AND KILL YOU FAST!

Just kidding. Ecigs got me off a 26 year addiction to Copenhagen (at least a can a day). I feel GREAT. Can hike, bike, etc. After two years vaping, with no ill effect so far.

meant to reply with qoute lol ^^^^
