Does anyone else find these "studies" funny?

Study: 'Electronic cigarettes' don't deliver - CNN

""They are as effective at nicotine delivery as puffing on an unlit cigarette," said Dr. Thomas Eissenberg, at the school's Institute for Drug and Alcohol Studies."

A lot of these studies treat e-cigs as if they are akin to testing the effects of cyanide on the general public. There are plenty of us who use these devices and are willing to be tested; but I find the claim above really interesting. Has the esteemed Dr ever talked to a user of these devices? Where is the nicotine going (it's in the liquid, so, when you heat it, it has to go somewhere; is the Dr saying that it stays in the carto?)?

It's claims like this that make people just totally disrespect the medical "establishment", this guy has obviously never met a user of this product and talked to them about their experience (like me, accidently quitting analogs by using a ecig; I had no intention of quitting, I just put them down a few months ago and never picked them back up).

many are biased or simply don't care to do their homework...and several I am sure have had the true goal of discrediting PVs

It's up to the educated user to inform the public till enough people come around and refuse to listen to the mindless drivel they are feeding the public...

problem is that's a long weening process, as many are addicted to the mindless drivel...lol

I carry some business cards and am ordering some cards from ECF next month...I just don't push...the curiosity factor really plays in our favor...the open minded will come to you...Just Vape on...:vapor:

That's an old study. There was a thread relating to it last week I think. If I recall somehow the Dr in question got on ECf and had a discussion with members about it and I THINK even agreed to do a study with experienced vapers.

Think of testing someone's nic level after they had a cig without inhaling on any drags.... that's kind of what testing someone's nic level after vaping when they don't know how to vape would be.

I find it funny to see a starter c-cig advertisement on this anti e-cig article!

Sorry for the age of the study, I didn't even look at it. Someone forwarded this to me (a family member who knows I moved from cigs to vape), it's apparently a top hit when you type in "ecig health" in Google.

It's sad that mis-information like this is so prevalent in the EC world; I just wish that Dr's (and researchers) would hold their comments if they don't really have anything valuable to add to the conversation. Seems that being a Dr leads to some truly myopic thinking in some people (ever seen ...... Madness); I don't really get why Dr's seem to always be the first on the "this is a deadly toxin" bandwagon; you would think their training would lead them to do the research before making guesses or uneducated statements. This is doubly true for organizations like the FDA and DEA; they have so much power that it would be assumed that they should spend their time making SURE that something is really harmful (or helpful) before they make a proclamation on it. The quintessential example of this is ......... policy in the US; the laws have had a far more detrimental effect than the drug ever have (or ever will) (and no, I don't smoke pot, but I just see a lot of parallels between the current "EC madness" and the MJ policy that's been going on for the last 70 years).
